UCLA EDGE Femi Oladejo has meeting with Arizona Cardinals

USA Today30-03-2025

UCLA EDGE Femi Oladejo has meeting with Arizona Cardinals The Cardinals have their eye on a pass rusher who only has one year at the position after playing off the ball.
UCLA edge defender Femi Oladejo is an intriguing pass-rushing prospect in the 2025 NFL draft. The Arizona Cardinals have some interest in him.
Oladejo revealed in an interview with The Draft Network's Justin Melo that one of his top-30 visits is with the Cardinals. He has visits also scheduled with the Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, and Philadelphia Eagles, as well as others.
What makes Oladejo intriguing is that he played only one season as an edge defender. He played off the ball as a linebacker until 2024. He moved to the edge so Carson Schwesinger could play linebacker. He had 4.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in his one season on the edge.
He is 6-foot-3 and 259 pounds with 33 3/8-inch arms.
He is just scratching the surface, having played only 11 games as an edge guy, including the Senior Bowl.
He won't be drafted in the first round, but a team might like the upside enough to take him Day 2.
What makes him intriguing for the Cardinals is the fact that he has experience playing off the ball, and they like their edge defenders to drop into coverage at times. Oledejo won't be fazed by that, much like Zaven Collins.
If the Cardinals don't take a pass rusher early, pay attention to Oladejo's name as the draft progresses. He might end up a guy they target.

O-line starters, Sam Darnold progress and more Seahawks stories for Cardinals fans to know

O-line starters, Sam Darnold progress and more Seahawks stories for Cardinals fans to know A look at some stories from the last week that Cardinals fans should know about the NFC West rival Seahawks. We are 13 weeks from Week 1's Sunday games and done with another week of the NFL offseason. That means we take some time to check in with the Arizona Cardinals' NFC West rivals — the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams. What is new with the Seahawks? Below are a few stories from the last week for Cardinals fans to know. First look at first-team OL in OTAs The Cardinals don't allow reporters to reveal anything about which players are running with which teams or what the practice rotations look like, but the Seahawks do. Their first-team offensive line looks like this right now, from left tackle to right tackle — Charles Cross, Grey Zabel, Olu Oluwatimi, Christian Haynes, Abe Lucas Darnold up and down at OTAs The Seahawks gambled big on Sam Darnold after his one good season with the Vikings. In his first offseason in Seattle, he was up and down in practices at OTAs. LB Jones progressing from offseason surgery LB Ernest Jones re-signed with the team and had offseason knee surgery. But he is making progress. While he has not done team drills in OTAs, he has been participating in walkthroughs and individual drills. 100% attendance OTAs are voluntary, but Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald apparently has his players believing in the offseason work. All 90 players on the roster have been in attendance voluntary OTAs. Rookie QB with great work ethic The Seahawks drafted quarterback Jalen Milroe this year. They aren't putting a lot on his plate yet, but Seattle offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has great things to say about how Milroe is working. Brennan's 3 hits, 2 RBIs help UCLA beat UTSA 7-0 and win super regional, clinch berth in CWS

LOS ANGELES — Payton Brennan had three hits, two RBIs and scored two runs on Sunday and UCLA beat UTSA 7-0 to win the Los Angeles Super Regional and advance to the College World Series. UCLA won its first super regional title since 2013 when the Bruins claimed the program's only national championship. The No. 15 seed Bruins (46-16) advance to the College World Series and play the winner between Duke and Murray State in the CWS. Brennan hit a two-out double and Toussaint Bythewood followed with an RBI single off starter Conor Myles (5-2) to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead in the fourth. Phoenix Call led off the fifth with a bunt single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Dean West before Roch Cholowsky drove in Call with a single to left field that made it 2-0. UCLA starter Landon Stump hit Andrew Stucky with a pitch to lead off the fifth and was replaced by Chris Grothues (4-1), who got Norris McClure to ground into a 6-3 double play — the Bruins 63rd of the season, the most in the nation — before Mason Lytle struck out looking to end the inning. Grothues, Cal Randall, August Souza and Easton Hawk combined for five no-hit innings of relief for the Bruins. The Bruins added two runs in the eighth and three in the ninth, including Brennan's two-run single. Umpire Eric Goshay was hit on the chin with a foul ball off the bat of Cholowsky in the seventh inning and left the field in the eighth. Second base umpire Travis Carlson moved behind the plate to accommodate for a three-man officiating crew. UTSA (47-15) saw its historic season, including a program single-season wins record, come to a close. The Roadrunners beat Kansas State in their opener at the Austin Regional for UTSA's first postseason win and then beat No. 2 national seed Texas twice to claim the program's first regional title. ___ AP college sports:
