Pamela Anderson: 'AI technology and filters make people boring-looking'
Pamela Anderson wants to "challenge beauty norms".
The former Playboy Bunny says AI and filters are making people become "boring-looking" and she would much rather people embrace their natural beauty like she has done by freeing herself of make-up.
Pamela told the July/August issue of Harper's Bazaar UK: "I think that with AI technology and filters, people are becoming kind of boring-looking. I want to challenge beauty norms. I've always been a rebel. I never see somebody and think, 'I want to look like that.'
I just want to see who I am. At some point you have to say, 'This is all I've got.' Surrender to it. And it's real happiness. It's freedom to know you can walk on a red carpet without a stitch of make-up on. I mean, why can't I? Men do it all the time."
The ex-Baywatch babe - who has sons Brandon Thomas, 29, and Dylan Jagger, 27, with her ex-husband Tommy Lee - has been enjoying the freedom and independence being single has afforded her.
She told the publication: "I love being in a creative space. That's my happy place. I guess it's a romantic space, but it's not necessarily about men or about relationships. It's about seeing what you're made of, what you're supposed to contribute to the world. I love poetry, film and music, and I feel like I'm just trying to live this part of my life as authentically as possible."
The Last Showgirl star continued: "I don't know what my next incarnation will be, but right now, I want to peel it back. Clean up a little bit and just see: who am I?"
Pamela - who was previously wed to Kid Rock, Rick Salomon, and Dan Hayhurst, the latter of whom she split from in 2022, after just over a year of marriage - admits she would have to "really trust" the person to consider embarking on a romance again.
She added: "I feel like because I've been given this second chance – not everybody gets one – I get to do it my way. And so, if anyone comes into my life, I have to really trust that it won't interfere with my one shot."

Actor Shane Jacobson has just embarged on what he reckons could be the real Great Australian Dream: owning a pub. Shane Jacobson has bought a country pub in Victoria's northeast. 'We've been told all our lives that the Great Australian Dream is to own your own home,' the popular movie, TV and stage actor told the Herald Sun. 'But to that I say, 'Frog shit.' Every bloke I've ever spoken to says they want to own a pub. I'm about to find out if I've bought the Great Australian Dream, or a nightmare.' Settlement is expected within the week. Jacobson said the pub purchase was Murphy's idea. 'He comes from a dairy farming family in the Kiewa Valley. Dean doesn't even drink. But that pub has been in and around Dean and his family, and the surrounding farming community, his whole life.' I've seen passion for football clubs, but it doesn't hold a candle to the love the locals have for The Ranga.' The Kenny, Charlie and Boots and Hairspray The Musical star lives in the Macedon Ranges, but will happily make the three-hour drive to Dederang to pull beers behind the bar. He laughed: 'I'll pull a couple of beers, but I bet I drink all the beers I pull.' The classic Aussie pub is all set for Jacobson and his friends to take over in the coming days. The pub has become a bit of a local institution since the current owner took it on 37 years ago. The pub had been advertised via McDonald Hospitality Brokers managing director Dan McDonald with a $1.365m asking price. Settlement for the sale had been expected this week, but was delayed as a State Revenue Office query over how their purchase price will be apportioned between the pub's bricks and mortar and the business. 'It's not unusual at all for the Revenue Office to do a complex assessment of a sale like this,' Mr McDonald said. The pub is located in a scenic part of Victoria between Bright and Albury-Wodonga. A dining area is also among the pub's features. Describing it as a 'terrific pub' that was an institution for the region where the preferred tipple was usually a Carlton Draught, the hotel broker said it had been run by the current owner for the past 37 years. 'Everyone knows you've lost your job': The Project star Sam Taunton returns to stand-up comedy after brutal axing
Axed Project Star Sam Taunton has broken his silence following the shock cancellation of Channel 10's The Project in a new stand up set. Taunton, a well-known stand-up comedian, joined the long-running panel show in 2023 as a full time weeknight panelist alongside fellow newbie Sarah Harris and veteran Waleed Aly. The 33-year-old funny man took to the stage in Sydney this week to try out some new stand up material after news of the show's cancellation reached media outlets. 'It's just like everyone f**king knows you've lost your job and it's crazy,' Sam told the audience, as reported by the Daily Mail Australia. 'My dad rang me and said: 'Look, if I'm honest, the show wasn't for me. I prefer real news''. Staunton then revealed that his co-host Waleed Aly tried to warn him about paparazzi due to the high level of media coverage about The Project's demise. 'Waleed – you might know that guy?' Taunton said. 'He texted me on Wednesday and said: 'I'm so sorry, Sam. Get prepared. I just got papped by the paparazzi outside Chemist Warehouse near the studio.' 'I ran as fast as I could to Chemist Warehouse. Not one f***er took a photo of me!' A Ten spokesperson confirmed to last week that The Project will end its run after 'almost 16 years and more than 4,500 episodes' on June 27. The long-running panel series was beset by sliding ratings and a rotating line up of anchors for years before it was officially axed. Channel 10 has subsequently unveiled The Project's successor, a 'premium, in-depth news, current affairs and insights program' called 10 NEWS+. The new 'premium' news show will be helmed by ex-Seven talent Denham Hitchcock and Amelia Brace. It is understood that 10NEWS+ will inherit the first half of The Project's 6:30pm – 7:30pm slot, with the second half hour now freed up for the channel's primetime programming. The anchor team will be supported by an existing pool of Ten reporters, including Political Editor Ashleigh Raper, Bill Hogan, Brianna Parkins, Samantha Butler, Carrie-Anne Greenbank and Claudia Vrdoljak.
