Shoppers praise Primark for 'life-changing' update to kids' clothing range
Ahead of the new school year, the retailer announced it would be removing traditional neck labels from children's T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, pyjamas, and nightwear, printing them on the fabric instead.
The change represents more than half of Primark's junior line, but it has also committed to further increasing this percentage over the coming months in an effort to create 'clothes that feel right'.
And that's not all; as part of a move towards more inclusive design, it will also offer seamless and flat seam socks — addressing a particular source of discomfort for people with sensory issues.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Primark wrote: 'You told us seams and labels can be a real challenge for many children, so we're making small but important changes that really help…
'No extra cost. No added fuss. Just more comfort in the clothes you already buy.'
The response from shoppers was overwhelmingly positive, and multiple comments thanked the high street giant.
Amy Olivia Clare and Lauren T-Brooks both called these new socks 'life-changing' for their families, with the latter explaining: 'The amount of times I have to put my daughter's socks inside out so she can wear them.'
'This is such an amazing step forward,' added Sam, who goes by @lifewithmothergoose. 'As a Mum of an autistic teen I've spent so many year cutting out labels!' https://www.instagram.com/p/DMXhxB5Cw0V/?img_index=1
Others called on Primark to introduce sensory-friendly products for all age groups, including Jodie Jae Porteus who said: 'It would be a game changer for neurodivergent adults.'
'Yes please!,' commented another user, Kim. 'It's so irritating and overwhelming at times to have scratchy labels constantly bothering me.'
A Primark spokesperson responded: 'We're always exploring ways to improve comfort and inclusivity across all our ranges, so stay tuned!'
This comes after the chain finalised the rollout of its long-awaited Click and Collect service, allowing customers to browse and order online before picking up in store. More Trending
Kari Rodgers, UK retail director at Primark, commented: 'We know that our customers love the convenience that Click and Collect offers… We hope this will help make summer holiday shopping that little bit easier.'
It also opened Fountain House – its first ever standalone homeware store – in Belfast, offering a wider selection of interiors items at the same bargain prices.
Fans can get hold of all sorts of goodies at the new branch, from 80p diffusers to £50 storage benches and £45 side tables.

Brooklyn Beckham ends feud with Becks after booze clash
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) BROOKLYN Beckham has ended his feud with Becks, after a clash over booze. The 26-year-old has been in dispute with one of the biggest beer brands in the world, Becks, which is owned by Brauerei Beck & Co. 4 Booklyn Beckham has ended his feud with Becks, after a clash over booze Credit: Instagram 4 The company was protesting over Brooklyn's bid to trademark the phrase 'Becks Buns' Credit: Instagram 4 The alcohol giants had enlisted hotshot lawyer Nadya Davis, from Holland & Hart LLP Credit: Getty The company was protesting over Brooklyn's bid to trademark the phrase 'Becks Buns' with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Last year, he applied to officially rubber-stamp the phrase under classifications such as sauces, beers, wines, sauces, clothing, and even kitchen knives. But now the warring parties have come to an agreement. Brooklyn's US firm Buster Hot Sauce Inc, which filed the trademark application, has agreed to delete the two classifications which are linked to 'Beer' and "Distilled spirits; wine; mirin in the nature of Japanese shochu-based mixed liquor'. The deletion of those classifications was 'in compliance with a third party agreement", which should mean it's a formality for the trademark to now be allowed. The alcohol giants had enlisted hotshot lawyer Nadya Davis, from Holland & Hart LLP, while Brooklyn hired trademark legal specialists Merchant & Gould PC. Brooklyn had his hands full for this legal battle, as Brauerei Beck & Co's fought numerous US firms for using similar words such as Secks, Brasserie Beck, Becks Master Brew and Buck's Landing. Brauerei Beck & Co's parent company AB InBev is one of the world's biggest breweries with "21 iconic billion-dollar brands' and one in four lagers sold throughout the world comes from the firm, according to its website. This includes Stella, Budweiser, Corona Extra, Carling, Skol and Jupiler. David and Victoria Beckham's agony as family feud explodes into WW3 and pals say 'Brooklyn has totally cut them off' Meanwhile, the star's feud with his family still wages on. Victoria Beckham's long-awaited Netflix programme is due for release in October, but eldest son Brooklyn won't feature amid the family's ongoing feud. It is understood she will not touch on the simmering feud - although she has promised there will be 'tears' in the four-parter. Nicola, 30, and Brooklyn, 26, have reportedly been keeping their distance from his family, after they failed to attend dad David's 50th birthday party. Chef and photographer Brooklyn has continued to gush over his actress spouse throughout - despite "cutting off brothers Cruz and Romeo" in the drama - amid fears he's "obsessed" with his marriage. A source added to us: 'The children hardly feature — it's simply not a case of Brooklyn and Nicola being cut, as they weren't in it to start with. "This is very much a project focussing on Victoria's transaction from pop star to businesswoman and designer." The Sun has learned that Victoria comes across 'brilliantly' - continuing from her scene-stealing one-liners in David's own four-parter.

"Never once had a reaction to any REN products and loved that they are animal cruelty free." Ahead of the closure, REN, which is stocked in Boots, launched a huge 50% off sale, and customers can still grab bargains until 23:59pm tonight. British skincare brand sold in Boots launches 50% off sale as it prepares to close down this month Among the deals on offer, customers can nab the Radiance Brightening Dark Circle Eye Cream for £24.50 down from £49 and the Evercalm Global Protection Cream for £42, down from £29.40. Pioneering brand The pioneering brand which was ahead of the 'clean beauty' trend was founded by Rob Calcraft and Anthony Buck in 2000. Some of its prestigious products, such as Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Toner (£30,) and the Evercalm range (£75), developed a cult following. Its innovative approach to skincare attracted the attention of Unilver's prestige Brand director, Vasiliki Petrou. Biggest skincare trends for 2025 Face The Future's Head of Clinic, Kimberley Medd, shared the five skincare trends predicted to take off in 2025. 1. Exosomes Exosomes are the buzzword for 2025, taking advanced skin regeneration to new heights. These micro-messengers signal skin cells to repair damage, boost collagen, and accelerate recovery, and they're a gamechanger for targeting ageing. 2. Streamlined Skincare The age of 12-step routines is fading as consumers shift to more intentional, multi-functional products. Streamlining skincare not only saves time but also reduces the risk of overloading your skin. In 2025, we'll see a rise in hybrid products that combine active ingredients for simplified, effective results. 3. Vegan Collagen Plant-based collagen will dominate the skincare world this year, providing a sustainable, ethical alternative to traditional animal-derived collagen. Expect vegan collagen in everything from moisturisers to serums. 4. The Rise Of AI AI is revolutionising the beauty landscape, making it possible for consumers to get truly personalised skincare solutions. In 2025, we predict a dramatic shift towards AI-powered tools that help people understand their skin on a deeper level. 5. Hair Loss Solutions - Hair loss is an issue that affects more men than we often realise, and it's no longer just something we're talking about behind closed doors. This year, expect to see a continued rise in demand for treatments that not only tackle hair loss but also nurture overall scalp health. Unilever bought the company for an undisclosed amount in 2015. Under Petrou's mentorship, the 2023 turnover ballooned to £1.2bn. However, last year she left the department, and almost immediately, profits started to dip. After she left, REN reduced the number of its skincare products by a third in an attempt to 'modernise' and crack the US market. But just last August, trouble was in the works as the division reported 'muted' profits. Under Petrou Unilever's Prestige department also gobbled up other clean beauty brands such as Dermalogica and Kate Somerville, which are currently still available.
