'Evil personified': Melinda French Gates' old interview on Epstein viral as DOJ, FBI close case

Time of India07-07-2025
Melinda Gates said Bill Gates' association with Jeffrey Epstein was one of the reasons behind their divorce.
The old video of Melinda French Gates from 2022 in which Melinda called Jeffrey Epstein 'evil personified' went viral Monday after the US administration brought the curtains down on the Epstein case.
In the interview, Melinda blamed Bill Gates' relationship with convicted pedophile Epstein as one of the reasons for their divorce. Melinda revealed in the CBS interview that she had met Epstein once, as she wanted to see who this person was.
"And I regretted it the second I stepped in the door. He (Epstein) was abhorrent. He was evil personified. I had nightmares about it afterwards, so my heart breaks for these young women," Melinda said adding that she made it clear to Bill that she did not like Epstein and his association with Epstein at all.

Melinda wrote about this experience in her memoir "The Next Day" that in 2019, NYT published a deeply disturbing article suggesting that Bill Gates had not only betrayed the marriage but also Melinda's values. NYT also reported that Epstein threatened to expose Bill's alleged affair with Russian bridge player Mila Antonova in 2017, after Bill declined to join Epstein's multi-billion-dollar charitable fund with JPMorgan Chase.

But Bill Gates was not accused of any sex offence and also expressed regret for his association with Epstein. "In retrospect, I was foolish to spend any time with him. I think I was quite stupid. I thought it would help me with global health philanthropy. In fact, it failed to do that. It was just a huge mistake," Bill Gates said.
Bill and Melinda finalized their divorce in August 2021 after 27 years of their marriage.
While Americans expected many more big names to come out of the stacks of files and documents and the exact nature of their relationship with Epstein, the FBI and the Department of Justice issued a joint an unsigned memo announcing that there was no incriminating Epstein client list. The investigation also concluded that Epstein died by suicide and was not murdered in jail.
MAGA activists had a major meltdown over the announcement and they called it a cover-up.

Russia Strikes Oil Jackpot Beneath Antarctica – Is This End Of Saudi Arabia's Throne? A Global Energy War Now Looms

Moscow/New Delhi: A startling discovery beneath the frozen edges of the planet has set off waves of concern, awe and speculation. Russian scientists claim to have found one of the world's largest reserves of crude oil (an estimated 511 billion barrels) buried deep under Antarctica's icy crust. This massive figure not only dwarfs known reserves but also raises pressing questions about future global power struggles, environmental risks and the fate of long-standing international agreements. Conducted in the Weddell Sea region by Russia's state-backed geological agency Rosgeo, the survey revealed oil reserves that exceed the total volume of crude ever extracted by humans. This discovery, experts warn, could shift the world's energy balance and turn Antarctica from a scientific sanctuary into the next geopolitical battlefield. Although Russia insists the mission was purely scientific, the timing and scale of the discovery are prompting alarm. Under the 1959 Antarctic Treaty, all military or commercial exploitation of natural resources on the continent remains strictly prohibited. Several observers suspect that Moscow's intentions extend beyond peaceful research. A Brewing Global Flashpoint? The area where this oil lies is part of the British Antarctic Territory, a region that also sees claims from Chile and Argentina. These overlapping claims now carry added weight as interest grows among nations sensing a resource opportunity buried under ice. What was once a cold and silent expanse of cooperation might soon witness contesting flags and strategic maneuvers. During the Cold War, 12 countries signed the Antarctic Treaty to keep the continent shielded from military and commercial rivalry. Today, over 50 countries are part of that pact. None have so far challenged the treaty's core rule of non-extraction until now. Experts such as Professor Klaus Dodds from Royal Holloway University argue that Russia's survey is a smokescreen for deeper ambitions. He called the oil mission a 'thinly veiled attempt' to open the door to future drilling – warning that tapping into a 500-billion-barrel reserve could tilt the global energy market on its head. Melting Ice, Uncovering Riches As Antarctica's glaciers slowly retreat due to rising global temperatures, the continent's hidden layers are coming into view. With over 70% of the world's freshwater frozen beneath its surface, Antarctica's thaw poses both a climate risk and a resource temptation. Environmentalists fear that exploiting such massive fossil fuel reserves could have devastating consequences. Extracting oil on this scale would not only breach the treaty but could also accelerate climate change beyond control. Some scientists have already begun calling the discovery a potential 'death sentence for the planet' if countries attempt to access and burn that much carbon fuel. Despite this, voices within the geopolitical arena suggest that a scramble could be imminent. Global powers, hungry for new energy sources and strategic leverage, may begin circling the icy continent with more than just research in mind. A New Era for Antarctica? As nations weigh the discovery's implications, the future of Antarctica hangs in a fragile balance. What was once a land of scientific cooperation now faces the looming shadow of resource-driven conflict. The Russian oil discovery may have just opened a new and colder front in the global race for energy and the world is watching.

Retired army man and wife found murdered in Bikaner home; tenants under scanner

1 2 Jaipur: The decomposed bodies of a 67-year-old retired army man and his wife were discovered inside their home in Muktaprasad Colony of Bikaner town on Tuesday, in what police believe is a suspected double murder. Officers said the bodies appeared to be at least three days old, and preliminary findings from the postmortem suggest the couple may have been strangled. A man who was living in the house as a tenant was detained for questioning. Police identified the victims as Gopal Verma and his 62-year-old wife, Nirmala Verma. The couple lived alone in their house in Sector 4/11. Both their sons work in different multinational companies. One of them live in Noida, while the other lives in Canada. According to police, Gopal Verma's son, who lives in Noida, repeatedly tried to call them but received no response. Concerned, he asked his uncle who lives nearby, to check on them. The uncle found the house locked and no one answered his knocks, prompting him to call the police. Officers arrived and broke open the lock, discovering the two bodies lying in the living room. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Lợi ích khi giao dịch CFD Bitcoin IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo Police said the interior of the house was in disarray, with household items scattered, and the main door was locked from the outside. This raised strong suspicion of murder and possibly robbery. Forensic teams and a dog squad were brought in to examine the scene for evidence. Neighbours told police they last saw the couple on Sunday while they were at a nearby park. Investigators found a bag and some personal items in a room on the first floor, suggesting that part of the house may have been rented out without proper verification. Relatives in the town expressed suspicion about a former tenant, who has since been detained. "Prima facie, it seems the crime took place on Sunday. A long scarf appears to have been used to strangle the couple," an officer said. SP Bikaner Saurabh Tiwari said a man was detained and police are verifying the background of all former tenants. Local residents, joined by some public representatives, staged a sit-in on Tuesday demanding immediate arrests. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
