He noted that, in line with Islamic principles that align with international human rights charters, Jordan has been keen on protecting religious and intellectual pluralism, confronting extremist ideologies with policies that promote moderation and peaceful coexistence. He also mentioned that Jordan's role in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem reflects the Hashemite leadership's commitment to upholding values of justice and respecting all religions. Al-Abdalat affirmed that these efforts align with global human rights principles, where Islam emphasizes equality and human dignity, which was underscored in the Amman Message stating: "Justice is the foundation of governance in Islam, and it includes justice for all without exception, based on equality before the law and respect for human rights." He emphasized that combating Islamophobia is not just about protecting Muslims from discrimination but is part of a global responsibility to fight all forms of hate and extremism and to foster mutual understanding between peoples.

Man convicted for Quran burning outside Turkish consulate in London
A 50-year-old man has been convicted of a religiously aggravated offence after burning a copy of the Quran in front of the Turkish consulate in London earlier this year. Hamas reports deadly operations against 'Israeli' forces in Gaza
Hamas' military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, reported Monday several operations carried out by its fighters against the 'Israeli' military as battles in the Gaza Strip rage. A gathering of 'Israeli' forces was hit with mortar shells – including 120mm and 60mm rounds – on May 31 east of Al-Qarara town, near Khan Younis in south Gaza. Another military post was hit with three short-range 'Rajoum' rockets on the same day, according to the statement. Yesterday, 'Israeli' defense minister said Sunday that he had ordered the army to push ahead with its fight on Gaza "regardless of any negotiations", after a US envoy called the group's latest response to a truce proposal unacceptable.
