'Mayele will score against Sundowns' – Khanye makes CAF CL final prediction
Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Junior Khanye has predicted Mamelodi Sundowns to lose the CAF Champions League final to Pyramids on Sunday.
The two teams play in the second leg of the final on Sunday evening after the first leg ended 0-0 in Pretoria last weekend.
Masandawana need to win or force a scoring draw to win their first CAF CL title in nine years. This is the third time the Brazilians have managed to reach the final of the competition.
Speaking on iDiski TV, Khanye felt Sundowns were less confident going into the final
'Sundowns were supposed to win here (at home), so going away is not going to be easy. As I said when the Champions League started, Sundowns will never win it. They have quality players and they are a quality team but going to the game, they don't have the confidence to win away,' he said.
'Personally, I don't think they will trouble Pyramids. They will have their moment, but their coach…'
The former winger said the match will likely finish 0-0 after extra time or end with Pyramids winning.
'I see the game finishing 0-0 or it will end 2-1. Sundowns will probably score but won't win the game. Mayele is going to score tomorrow, he will score the winning goal.'

The 30-year-old Congolese forward struck in the 23rd minute at 30 June Stadium, which effectively put the contest out of reach for the Betway Premiership champions. Though the aggregate at that stage was 2-1 to Pyramids, it meant Sundowns had to score twice to come away victorious. As Pyramids doubled their lead in the second half with Ahmed Samy, it didn't actually change anything as two goals would still be needed for the SA outfit. Iqraam Rayners did pull a goal back with a quarter of an hour remaining, but there would be no further change to the scoreline as Pyramids ran out victors.

From there, it was Sundowns' task to aim for an unanswered goal to take the tie to extra time and penalties, or two to win. They had an outstanding chance for that spurned by Tashreeq Matthews seconds before the break. Ahmed Samy made it 3-1 heading in a free-kick in the 56th, and Downs needed two unanswered goals to win. Iqraam Rayners pulled one back in the 75th. Downs could not find another, despite substitute Peter Shalulile coming excruciatingly close . In the opening half, Sundowns paid for being that minute margin loose that can be so costly at the rarefied level of a continental final and went behind from a defensive error. Had the bounce of the ball gone their way, the Brazilians could also have gone to the break level. A cleverly-worked free-kick from the middle by Downs saw Aubrey Modiba chip short into the path of Rayners, who took the ball over his shoulder and volleyed high. At the other end a half-clearance fell to Ahmed Atef on the edge of the box to strike well, but too close to Williams, who took easily.

This will surely feel even more painful than that 4–1 defeat to Al Ahly back in 2001, when they were thoroughly played off the park in the second leg, having drawn 1–1 at home – just as was the case this time around. But instead of lobbing the advancing goalkeeper, Matthews tried to slide it past him, only for the veteran – who was in the Zamalek team defeated by Sundowns in the 2016 final – to block with his outstretched left leg. It was more a miss than a save, and the reactions of Ribeiro and the Sundowns bench said it all – the Brazilian hopping madly as the bench ran off with hands on their heads in disbelief. Sundowns were made to pay early in the second half, as Sami made it 2–0. Once again, it was self-inflicted. Substitute Divine Lunga needlessly conceded a free-kick on the edge of the area, and his teammates defended the resulting set piece like Sunday league amateurs, allowing Sami a free header for his first goal of this year's Champions League.
