7th HEAVEN May Be the Latest '90s Show to Get a Reboot
When you think of the WB network, you probably think of iconic '90s/early 2000s shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawson's Creek, and Smallville. But the longest-running WB show, and their biggest ratings grabber, was the wholesome family drama 7th Heaven. The show, about a California minister and his rather large family, ran for a whopping eleven seasons. It outlasted the WB itself, and finished its run on the CW. Now, according to Deadline, the show is getting a reboot via CBS Studios, with original star Jessica Biel as a producer.
What remains unclear is whether or not this will be a total reboot, or some kind of legacy sequel continuation of the original 7th Heaven series. We're going to lean toward total reboot, as the family patriarch of the show, actor Stephen Collins, admitted to several heinous crimes in recent years. We won't get into the specifics of what they are. But if you're curious, there's a whole episode of Hollywood Demons on HBO Max covering it. So the series lead from the original show almost certainly won't be coming back. But with Jessica Biel involved, maybe she carries on the torch? We don't really know at this point.
7th Heaven became one of the last hits produced by television legend Aaron Spelling. From the '70s through the '90s, Spelling produced a metric ton of hit shows that remain iconic to this day. Among them are Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Dynasty, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, and Charmed. Much of the Spelling library is now owned by CBS Studios. They've looked to capitalize on the late Mr. Spelling's iconic brand of shows for the streaming era. We'll soon find out if 7th Heaven can find a new life in a landscape where television is so different.

He plans to move back into the home once it is rebuilt, his lawyers say. The property is a matter of previous dispute for the couple – in a December filing, Turner-Smith said Jackson continues to claim that the Topanga home is his sole property, despite the actress allegedly contributing $800,000 to its down payment. Even in the best case, it cannot begin to provide a child with the same nurturing andenrichment, peer relationships and social skills that a classroom and school communityenvironment provides," he wrote. Referencing the tumult of several years defined by family separation and a natural disaster that leveled their family home, Jackson insisted that a school change would be detrimental. "After all of the changes that Juno has had to adapt to, her parents' divorce, and the stress of having our home and her possessions burn to the ground, adding an unnecessary school change cannot be in her interests," he wrote. Jackson and Turner-Smith, who began dating after meeting at Usher's 40th birthday party in 2018, wed in August 2019 and welcomed their daughter in 2020. They separated in 2023 and then finalized their divorce in May.

Jodie Turner-Smith Responds to Joshua Jackson Custody Modification
Jodie Turner Smith and Joshua Jackson's split continues to be pretty rough, to the point where the Dawson's Creek actor just filed an emergency custody order modification alleging that Jodie changed their daughter's school without his permission. While Jodie hasn't responded to Joshua's filing directly, she did hop on Instagram Stories a few days later to share a meme of animated villains that reads "'Why don't you like that person? They seem so nice.' You know who else seemed to be nice." She captioned it "stay safe out there." As a reminder, Jodie filed for divorce after four years of marriage in October 2023. She and Joshua settled last month, but disagreed on where their daughter should attend school. Jodie claimed, in documents obtained by People, that "I have the clear authority to make the school selection in Juno's best interest, and Josh is refusing to adhere to the terms of the Stipulation and Order and is depriving me of the right to select the school." She added that Joshua's team "challenged my decision-making authority and objected to Juno's enrollment" due to "concerns about drive time." Meanwhile, in his recent emergency custody order modification filing, Joshua claimed that "Jodie is attempting to create a scenario where Juno travels with her rather than attending a traditional school."
