Amy Huberman shares wild way Brian O'Driscoll tracked her down before they met
The mum-of-three said that Brian's interest began when he spotted her on Tubridy's old chat show Tubridy Tonight while he was recovering from an injury.
She revealed how the former Ireland captain initially thought she was a 'hermit' because he had never seen her around town before.
She said: 'Brian was injured and at home watching [Tubridy Tonight] when I was on. He was like 'Is she a hermit? I don't know who she is,' so he rang Joanne Byrne [a celebrity agent], and she got us together.'
After a few days away with her actress pal Norma Sheehan and Joanne, Joanne sprung a surprise meeting of the two in the Merrion Hotel by saying she needed to drop off a book so that Brian could meet Amy.
Dressed in her trackies at the time, Amy recalled: 'Brian is shy, and he had a full-blown crisis. He was saying, 'This feels wild, she's the only one who doesn't know what's going on!''
The Dubliner said that 'he was afraid [it would be creepy] but I think it was quite sweet.'
Amy was speaking on the latest episode of The Bookshelf with Ryan Tubridy where she also shared a story with the host about reading an early draft of Brian's autobiography and giving him some editorial feedback.
'There was a bit where they had just won the Heineken Cup,' she said, 'and it was very just like, 'and then we won the Heineken Cup.' And I was like, hang on a sec! I wanna know how everyone felt. That's the event! I need to know all the feelings… because they had been trying [so hard] to do it.'

Irish teen, 16, tipped to be next Dolores O'Riordan after viral busking video with TikTok star ‘changed life forever'
AN Irish teenager is being hailed as having a voice like Dolores O'Riordan after a video of her singing in Leicester Square went viral. Dubliner Mathilde Mullins, 16, has become an online sensation after she duetted with YouTube star Luke Silva on the streets of London last month. 4 Mathilde Mullins and YouTube star Luke Silva Credit: Social Media Collect 4 Their version of Coldplay song The Scientist has 2.5million views on TikTok Credit: Social Media Collect 4 She is tipped to be the next Dolores O'Riordan Credit: Getty - Contributor Their version of Coldplay song The Scientist has an astounding 2.5million views on TikTok. Italian performer Luke — who has 2.1million followers on TikTok and 1.88million subscribers on YouTube — invites people to sing with him in the English capital. Mathilde told The Irish Sun: 'I knew Luke has millions of people watching his videos on YouTube and TikTok but I never thought I would be in one. 'That was until I went on a trip to London with my mum a few weeks ago. 'I heard music coming from Leicester Square and realised it was Luke performing one of his famous videos. 'I really wanted to talk to Luke about us duetting together. But I was nervous about asking him as he is such a big inspiration. However, my mum then told Luke that I was a great singer.' Although the DJ and vocalist had finished for the day, he asked Mathilde for her Instagram account, @mathildemullinsmusic, and promised to be in touch. She said: 'The next day I got a message from Luke saying, 'Hey Mathilde, I'm in Leicester Square today and will be singing around 3pm, will you make it?' 'I was like 'oh my god', Luke Silva just replied and he wants me to sing with him!' 'I was so excited replying back to him, saying 'Yes, I'll be there'. Luke then sent me this list of songs and asked me to pick three.' DREAM COME TRUE That afternoon Mathilde found herself side by side with Luke introducing herself to onlookers in the famous square featuring London's biggest movie screens. She said: 'Hi I'm Mathilde Mullins, I'm 16 years old and from Dublin' — before the pair of them launched into the famous Coldplay song The Scientist. Before long a huge crowd had gathered to watch the pair, drawn in by their enchanting singing. Mathilde said: 'It was like a dream come true. 'I could feel all the love around me from people watching and so many people coming up after complimenting me. One of them told me they found all the emotion in my voice very, very touching.' However, the vocalist had no idea that more plaudits were to come her way when Luke posted the edited video of them singing together, first on his YouTube channel and then on his massive TikTok account. So far the Coldplay cover has attracted a staggering 2.5million views on TikTok, boosting Mathilde's own TikTok account from a few hundred followers to nearly 6,000. Luke was wowed by the range of Mathilde's voice as along with the Coldplay cover she performed two other songs, Stay by Rihanna and All I Want by Kodaline. And asked about the reaction since, Mathilde said: 'A lot of people are comparing my voice to Dolores O'Riordan. They asked me would I cover Zombie by The Cranberries, so I posted that and we've had 31,000 views on TikTok. 'I can't wait to see what the future holds. Busking in London has changed my life forever. 'After we performed that day in Leicester Square, I remember Luke said to me, 'Wow Mathilde what a voice and a great range you have. Keep going, I know you'll go far and you are only 16.'" He also said, 'Never give up, you've got talent and your journey has just begun.'" And she's found similar success to Irish sensation Allie Sherlock, who also went viral on social media. Allie's success even led to one of her videos being shared by pop sensation Justin Bieber. The then 14-year-old student amassed a hug following since she started her singing career, garnering over two million subscribers on YouTube and over one million followers on Instagram. And now, Allie is performing at some of Ireland's most popular music festivals, including Kaleidoscope. She joined headliners including Texas, The Coronas and Ocean Colour Scene. Ireland's largest family-friendly music event, took place across from July 4-6 at Russborough House in Wicklow. And after her big performance, she shared a video on social media, saying: "One of my biggest performance ever Kaleidoscope." 4 Allie Sherlock found fame when she went viral on social media Credit: Instagram

McGregor breaks silence after being 'removed' from UFC as he gives X-rated reply
Conor McGregor gave an X-rated response to a fan after reports claimed he had been 'removed' from the official UFC roster. UFC Roster Tracker claimed that the Dubliner had been removed from the active roster, but Dana White dismissed the reports, saying they were "Total b*******". McGregor's team also dismissed the claim, with journalist Ariel Helwani speaking to the former two-weight champion and his team. In a post shared on X, Helwani wrote: "Conor McGregor HAS NOT parted ways the UFC. Both @TheNotoriousMMA and his team confirmed this to me. He also confirmed he is back in the pool, has submitted tests and all have come back clean. 'It's all systems a go,' he said." McGregor furiously responded to a fan who shared the claim on X, writing: 'First test fully clean. P****." He deleted the post shortly afterwards. The Notorious is planning a comeback next year, with a potential return on 4 July 2026, following White's confirmation of the promotion's planned visit to the White House on that date. White revealed he has plans to meet with US President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka at the end of the month to finalise the arrangements. This will be the first time a UFC fight card will be held at the White House. "It is definitely going to happen," White, a prominent supporter of the US president, told CBS television. "I talked to him last night -- 'him' being the president -- and I'm flying out there at the end of this month, and I'm going to sit down and walk him through all the plans and the renderings, and we're going to start deciding what he wants and doesn't want." The UFC boss added: "When he called me and asked me to do it, he said: 'I want Ivanka in the middle of this.' So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings." White isn't ruling out the possibility of McGregor's return, but he'll insist his star fighter shows real commitment. "I mean, if you see, he's been posting videos of himself training, he's back in the pool now, he wants the White House fight," White told Pardon My Take. "Listen, if he starts getting in shape and starts training and stays the course, that's the fight he wants, he keeps telling me he wants that fight so we'll see how it plays out over the next few months."

Choice Prize winner Jape: ‘There's so much ADHD now. It's insanely high. There's this constant stimulation into your face and ears'
Jape on why winning the Choice Music Prize twice didn't impact his career, living in Sweden and coming home for the NCH's Landmark series Richie Egan has long created music in splendid isolation, locking himself into his home-studio, and keeping workman-like hours. For more than a decade, the Dubliner has lived in Malmö with his Swedish wife and three young children and, often for days on end, he doesn't leave home. When he's not crafting new compositions, he's immersed in the minutiae of family life, Sweden's third largest city little more than a backdrop. It's the way he likes it and it has served him and his art very well indeed.
