Furious HGTV fans threaten to BOYCOTT the channel entirely amid latest round of axed shows

Daily Maila day ago
HGTV's social media has been inundated with comments from angry fans threatening to boycott the channel entirely as it continues its spate of cancellations.
In recent weeks, the channel has axed numerous popular shows including, Bargain Block, Married to Real Estate, Farmhouse Fixer, Izzy Does It, and Battle on the Beach.
More recently, it's been said that Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa's The Flipping El Moussas has been shelved, along with Christina Haack 's Christina on the Coast.
The culling spree has been slammed by angry viewers who are demanding an explanation over the decisions and declaring that they will no longer be tuning into the channel at all.
Furious fans made their feelings known underneath HGTV's last Instagram post, dated July 3, which outlined its July schedule.
Taking to the comments, one said: 'How could you get rid of Izzy Does It! One of the best new shows you have brought on in a while. This show is so entertaining! Funny, heartfelt and why we are there to watch: beautiful renovations that help us all watch and learn!
'I enjoyed every episode, loved the designs and couldn't wait for the next season. Come on guys rethink this ridiculous decision. We fell in love with Izzy with Tarek and Christina so it was exciting to see him with his own show.' (sic)
Another begged: 'Bring back Married to Real Estate, Bargain Block! Those were two of my absolute favorites! I am very disappointed with your decisions HGTV! Please explain how you came up with this decision.'
A third continued: 'Bring back the shows with diversity. Married to Real Estate & Bargain Block. They were my favorites. No one wants to see more of Drew & Jonathan. I won't be watching.'
'Can't believe you're not renewing Christina on the Coast and The Flipping El Moussas!' another said. 'Literally the best shows besides down home fab to be on the channel... smh.'
A fifth added: 'Congratulations to Egypt and Mike on their cancelled show Married to Real Estate on being nominated for an Emmy!
'Way to go HGTV for canceling a top five rated Emmy nominated show and losing tons of viewers.'
A sixth speculated: 'Something fishy. My favorite shows were canceled. Christina on the Coast was the best, followed by Married to real Estate. Gotta find me another channel to watch. Sad.'
HGTV, a basic cable channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, primarily broadcasts reality programming related to home improvement and real estate.
Over the past few weeks, the network has sent shockwaves as a result of its sudden cancellations.
'Decisions are still being made,' an insider who works directly with programming told Daily Mail earlier this month.
Furious fans made their feelings known about the cull underneath HGTV's last Instagram post
'It sucks for everyone involved but that's the TV business.
'Everyone understands that. Cable networks are struggling now, and we all have to make smart decisions.'
Farmhouse Fixer host Jonathan Knight confirmed that his show, co-presented by Kristina Crestin, had been axed after three seasons.
'A lot of you have been asking about the future of Farmhouse Fixer,' he said.
'I am sad to say HGTV has decided not to move forward with another season.
'While I'm still processing the reasons that led to their decision, Kristina and I are so grateful for all your support over the past three seasons.
'Television has been so incredibly fun for us.'
Despite the spate of cancellations, it was recently announced that John Cena is now executive producing a new series for the network: Junk or Jackpot.
It will follow collectors who have filled their houses with unusual collectibles - miniature sets, action figures, antique dolls - and after assessing the value of the items, the show will help the collector decide whether to keep them or sell them in order to afford much-needed renovations.
Queer Eye alum Bobby Berk will host the new show.

Jerry Seinfeld fans left in shock as star's past relationship with a teen 20 YEARS his junior resurfaces

Jerry Seinfeld is known mostly for his run in the nine-season show Seinfeld he created alongside Larry David. The show has won countless awards and still - three decades later - remains a cultural classic. But alongside Seinfeld's fame, his past also stands the test of time - something that became especially evident as fans resurfaced an old picture of the actor when he was 38 years old walking alongside his then-18-year-old girlfriend. Seinfeld, now 71, started dating Shoshanna Lonstein (now Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss) when she attended the all-girls Nightingale-Bamford School in Manhattan. The two were rumored to have met in Central Park. The couple dated from 1993 to 1997, during which Shoshanna even transferred from George Washington University to UCLA to be with Seinfeld. Eventually the couple broke up, and Shoshanna cited the overwhelming press coverage and the fact that she missed New York as the reason. And even though it's been about 28 years since the relationship ended, Seinfeld fans and critics still remain disturbed by the fact that a 38-year-old man would have a romantic relationship with someone in high school. While the former couple's 20-year age gap is something that was side-eyed in the 90s, it wasn't until recently that people started holding Seinfeld accountable for being involved with a teenager. On a Reddit post where an old picture of Seinfeld and Shoshanna has gone viral, fans did not hold back when expressing their disgust and disapproval. 'So gross, he really looks like a dad picking up his daughter from school,' one Redditor commented under the photo. 'Jerry Seinfeld is therefore a predatory a**hole,' another said. 'Screw him. Totally unacceptable. I don't care how much consent there was nor if she was 17 or 18 - Jerry knows damn well he was in a position of great influence and power and was using a child for his sexual interests. Pathetic loser.' While some Redditors tried to provide context about 'the time back then,' other users were quick to shut that down. 'I'm sorry but what's wrong with these men? Is it only the law that stops them from going lower?' one user shared. 'And people will be like oh this was back in the 70s/80s/90s, it was a different time. Like morals were only invented in the last ten years.' When Seinfeld was first questioned by Howard Stern about being photographed with Shoshanna, he claimed that 'there was no way' that she was that young. Coming onto the show again later, he said, 'I didn't realize she was so young. This is the only girl I ever went out with who was that young. I wasn't dating her. We just went to a restaurant, and that was it.' Later on, once it was confirmed that they were in a serious relationship, Seinfeld said, 'I am not an idiot. Shoshanna is a person, not an age. She is extremely bright. She's funny, sharp, very alert. We just get along. You can hear the click.' Neither of the two have commented on their relationship since their breakup. And while these pictures have resurfaced time and time again, Seinfeld has never addressed them.

Courtney Stodden breaks down in tears over 'abuse' at 16 from older husband as she struggles with sobriety

A makeup-free Courtney Stodden has broken down in tears during a new video shared on Thursday. The 30-year-old reality TV star is on day three of giving up alcohol and is feeling a change inside and out. Not only is she breaking out in pimples on her face and chest, but painful memories from the past are rising to the surface and flooding her thought process. What struck her the most is the memory of her first husband, the much-older Doug Hutchison - a 65-year-old actor whom she calls her former 'groomer' - giving her alcohol. The Washington native said he would drink 'bottle and bottles of alcohol' a day and pushed her to drink too so he could 'control' her. But these days Stodden does not want to feel 'out of control,' so she is staying away from the booze even if the journey is challenging. The cover girl also noted that many of her friends are not happy that she has decided to be sober as they won't know what to do with 'healthy' Stodden, but she will stick with her plan no matter what and won't take up drinking again just to please her pals. 'If people don't get it, then maybe they shouldn't be around,' said Stodden who wore a beige bra with two Van Cleef & Arpels necklaces. The caption read: 'The painful truth.' Earlier this week the former teen bride told that she is 'very happy with the decision' as she works on her 'sobriety journey and overall health.' 'Giving up alcohol also helps with my mental health,' Courtney, who has recently signed on for a new Lifetime biopic, shared. 'I feel better without it.' The wife of movie producer Jared Safier then explained that she had reached for drinks when she felt stressed by fame. 'Alcohol was my escape for years, but it turned into a trap,' shared Stodden to 'I used it to survive trauma, but it ended up making me feel more lost and ashamed. This breakup isn't just with a substance—it's with a version of myself I'm ready to leave behind. 'At some point, blacking out stopped being cute. I used alcohol to deal with pain, but all it did was make things messier—and make me louder in all the wrong ways. I'm finally cutting ties. Alcohol and I? Total toxic ex energy.' More Americans are abstaining from alcohol consumption. This trend is particularly noticeable among younger adults, who are increasingly embracing a 'sober curious' lifestyle, according to Time magazine. What struck her the most is the memory of her first husband, the much-older Doug Hutchison - a 65-year-old actor whom she calls her former 'groomer' - giving her alcohol The Washington native said he would drink 'bottle and bottles of alcohol' a day and pushed her to drink too so he could 'control' her. But these days Stodden does not want to feel 'out of control,' so she is staying away from the booze even if the journey is challenging Stodden broke the news of her newfound sobriety on Instagram on Tuesday as she began, 'Alcohol, I'm breaking up with you. It's been a toxic relationship for years. 'Something I used to cope, to escape, to survive. But it's hurt me more than it's ever helped me—publicly and privately,' wrote the siren. 'Last night was the last time. I'm done letting it control me. I'm done feeling sick and ashamed. I want to be fully present in my life. I want to face my past, my trauma, and my current reality with clear eyes and real strength. To those who understand this battle—thank you.' Stodden also shared: 'Please respect my space as I walk this new path. It's not easy, but it's necessary.' The pinup model who resembled Marilyn Monroe also wrote: 'This is something I've gone back and forth about posting. But my life has always been so public and this is a big part of my healing.' Hugh Hefner's ex-girlfriend Crystal Hefner commented, 'I am so proud of you. I haven't drank since 2009 and it's the best thing. Life is so much brighter and happier without the poison bringing me down. You got this.' Stodden replied, 'Soul sis❤️.' Former talk show host Ricki Lake added, 'You got this.' Stodden with her husband Jared Safier. 'If people don't get it, then maybe they shouldn't be around,' said Stodden This comes after Courtney shared her feelings on her tragic teenage bride story after her 14 year wedding anniversary. The beauty told that tying the knot with A Time To Kill actor Hutchison was a bad move and she won't pretend otherwise. She was just 16-years-old when she married Hutchison, who was 51 at the time, at a Las Vegas wedding chapel in 2011. 'It stays with me, the pain, I won't stay quiet,' she told adding Doug was 'emotionally abusive.' The model then said: 'My voice is my power and for every voice silenced, I'll shout louder. And I won't ask for permission to do what's right. Not anymore. I speak for that little girl within.' Stodden added: 'I am living life on my own terms now. Everything that's happened in my life, I have handled. I am strong, resilient. I am coming back to myself. I will never let anyone silence me again.' And she wants to help others: 'I want past victims and survivors to really tap into that part of themselves. We are so strong.' She has appeared on a string of reality TV shows such as Couples Therapy, Celebrity Big Brother and Hollywood Hillbillies.
