Menasha man under investigation after fleeing crash scene and refusing to leave residence
According to the Menasha Police Department, officers responded shortly after 12:15 p.m. to the 1100 block of Appleton Road to assist the Fox Crossing Police Department with a motor vehicle accident involving injuries. Law enforcement was notified that one of the vehicles involved fled the scene.

The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office soon received reports that the fleeing vehicle was driving recklessly in Menasha. Officers located the vehicle near Third and Racine streets and attempted to stop it near the south end of the Racine Street Bridge.
The vehicle eventually stopped in a driveway in the 300 block of Naymut Street. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a residence.
Officers made verbal contact with a male inside the home, who admitted to driving the vehicle but refused to exit. After several hours of negotiations, the man continued to refuse to leave. During the standoff, officers confirmed the driver's identity as a 19-year-old Menasha man.
Police learned there were other individuals inside the residence, including a young child. To protect their safety, officers decided against forcibly entering the home.

The Fox Crossing Police Department will refer charges related to the crash to the Winnebago County District Attorney's Office. The Menasha Police Department will refer charges for eluding, resisting and obstructing an officer, and failure to comply.
Both departments thanked community members who provided critical information leading to the vehicle's location and identification.

2 people taken into custody following shots-fired call in Scott Township
Two people were taken into custody Sunday after police responded to a shots-fired call in Scott Township. Just before 10 a.m., Scott Township police were dispatched to the 600 block of Carothers Avenue for reports of shots fired. The 911 call indicated that an argument had escalated into an exchange of gunfire between individuals at the scene. Responding officers determined that the two suspects went into an apartment along Carothers Avenue. One man then left the apartment complex shortly after police arrived, and he was taken into custody without incident. The second suspect remained inside the apartment, and officers then called to activate the South Hills Area Council of Governments Critical Incident Response Team. After multiple attempts to communicate with the suspect, they ultimately exited the residence and were also taken into custody without incident. The suspects were later identified as Travis Coles, 30, and Ean Strimlan, 21. Both will be charged with three counts of simple assault and three counts of terroristic threats, according to a media release from Scott Township police. Coles also had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Pittsburgh for terroristic threats. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as evidence is further examined.

Philadelphia man arrested near Golden Gate Park suspected of having nitrous oxide tanks
San Francisco Police said they arrested a man from Philadelphia near Golden Gate Park after finding tanks filled with nitrous oxide in a van Saturday night. Officers were near Fulton Street and 35th Avenue around 11 p.m. to patrol the area during the ongoing concert series. During their patrol, they saw an open trailer with a man inside, and as they got closer, they saw numerous tanks in the vehicle and suspected they were filled with nitrous oxide, police said. The officers arrested the man after an investigation gave them probable cause, according to police. He was identified by police as 32-year-old Thomas Siderio of Philadelphia. Police said they seized about 100 metal tanks and found balloons at the scene. They towed the trailer as evidence, police said. Siderio was taken to the San Francisco County Jail on suspicion of distribution or dispense of nitrous oxide and possession of nitrous oxide with intent to ingest for intoxication.
