Police officer fighting for his life after crash while on duty is named
Four people have now been arrested in connection with the collision on the B416 Bells Hill in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, on Thursday night.
Thames Valley Police said on Sunday afternoon that Pc Miller remained in a life-threatening condition in hospital.
Two men, aged 28 and 38, both from Slough, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remain in custody.
A third man, aged 43, also from Slough, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice and has since been released on police bail, officers said.
The force confirmed on Sunday they had arrested a fourth person, a 37-year-old woman, from Slough, on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.
Speaking to reporters near the scene, Detective Superintendent Will Crowther, said: 'On Thursday, one of our officers was seriously injured whilst simply doing his job. He is currently in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
'We are now in a position to confirm that the injured officer is Pc Christopher Miller from our Roads Policing Unit.
'The incident happened at around 10.20pm on Thursday May 22, on the B416 Bells Hill, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire.
'The officer was involved in a collision with a white BMW vehicle, which did not stop at the scene.
'Christopher has sustained very serious injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition. His family are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers, as are his closest colleagues.'
Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident and urge anyone who may have footage to come forward.
'We want to hear from anybody that witnessed a white BMW driving erratically in the areas of Stoke Poges and Slough between 8pm on Thursday evening until around 1am on the morning of Friday, May 23,' Det Supt Crowther said.
'We believe that after the collision the BMW will have sustained damage to the front of the car.
'If you saw the vehicle, we urge you to please check your dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell footage which may have captured something that could assist us with this investigation.
'We are conducting an extensive investigation and we are determined to bring those responsible to justice.
'I believe there are people out there that know who is responsible.
'If you know what happened or have information that could help, I urge you to please come forward. You can do so in the strictest of confidence.
'We need your help. Thank you.'
Thames Valley Police Deputy Chief Constable Ben Snuggs added: 'All officers should expect to return home safely after each tour of duty, and we wish Christopher a swift and full recovery.
'We have all been affected by this, right across Thames Valley Police. I want to thank our local communities for all their support and the wider public for the supportive messages we have received.'

Southall stated that the dispute rather involved the "reinstatement of the tiles". The magistrates ruled that the case would be sent to crown court. Southall is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on September 15.

A Frisco man faces up to 20 years in prison after firing multiple shots at teenagers who rang his doorbell and ran away as part of a social media prank. Police arrested Damon Wolfe, 58, on August 7 following a shooting incident in the 6500 block of Scottsdale Way in late July. Three teenagers nearly lost their lives over a doorbell prank gone catastrophically wrong. Officers initially responded to reports of shots fired around 10:50 p.m. on July 28. Wolfe had called 911, claiming someone had tried to kick in his door. However, the investigation revealed a different story. Wolfe heard a loud bang, grabbed his firearm, and opened fire on a passing vehicle he believed was involved in the incident. The three occupants later admitted they were 'ding, dong, ditching' random houses when confronted by an armed man. As they fled northbound on Legacy Drive, Wolfe stepped outside and shot at their car. Police found three bullet holes in the vehicle. Crime scene investigators processed the car while detectives canvassed for witnesses and security footage. Authorities charged Wolfe with three counts of aggravated assault, a second-degree felony. Each count carries 2 to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000. 'Parents, please talk to your kids about the dangers of participating in these types of Tik Tok challenges,' said Frisco Police Chief David Shilson. 'The teens involved in this case are very fortunate they were not shot and killed or seriously injured.' The chief also warned homeowners about legal consequences. 'For homeowners, it is important to understand that there are legal and criminal consequences for running outside and shooting at a vehicle fleeing the scene.' Shilson noted the broader risks involved. 'The bullets fired in this offense could have easily struck neighbors' houses and had deadly consequences. This entire incident is completely senseless and avoidable had better decisions been made by all involved.' The investigation remains active. Police confirm Crystal Palace music festival was not shut down due to ‘stabbing'
A music festival in Crystal Palace Park was not ended due to stabbing, the Metropolitan Police has confirmed. Rumours on TikTok and X claimed that the Originals Festival at Crystal Palace Park was shut down due to a knife-related incident yesterday (August 17). However, the police have since confirmed they received no such reports. Crowds attending the festival were asked to leave soon after the closing time. One video posted online shows festivalgoers standing around in as an announcer shouts: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, it has become necessary to close the event early. 'Please return to your vehicles, or meeting points, and exit the site immediately." The festival organisers, South Facing Festival, are yet to respond to these claims or clarify the situation. On X, one person suggested that a "stampede at the gates" led to the festival's closure, with reports of people being trampled. A Met spokesperson said: "On Sunday, 17 August, Met Police officers assisted the organisers of an event in Crystal Palace Park.
