Pep Guardiola joins Liam Gallagher's son at Oasis gig for 'pic of the century'
Oasis-mania has taken over the country as the Gallagher brothers tour the nation after reuniting following a 16-year hiatus. And as the fever reached their hometown of Manchester on Friday evening, Pep Guardiola wasn't about to miss out.
The Spaniard will be enjoying some rare time off after his side were knocked out of the Club World Cup earlier this month, as he looks to rejuvenate himself following a tough year. But his success at the Etihad Stadium wasn't about to be forgotten given how close the club is to the Gallagher brothers' hearts.
And it wasn't long before Guardiola was taken in by the Gallagher family at Heaton Park. The Catalan coach posed with the children of Noel Gallagher: Anais, Donovan and Sonny, and the sons of frontman Liam Gallagher: Gene and Lennon.
And it's safe to say Gene was pretty happy with the moment. Posting the image on Instagram he said: "Pic of the century alright now everyone else **** off".
Gene's mother, Nicola Appleton of All Saints, was quick to respond to the photograph with a grinning squinting face emoji and heart emoji. While her sister Natalie said: "Fabulous photo!! Cousins" with the addition of heart emojis.

Guardiola was present to see the Gallagher brothers march on stage hand in hand for their homecoming as they tackle five nights in the city, following two gigs in Cardiff last weekend. A massive 80,000 fans are set to be in attendance each night.
And Guardiola was among them on Friday as he attempts to avoid thinking about the ill-preparation his team have been required to undergo ahead of 2025/26. City saw their term extend until the start of July as they travelled to the Club World Cup in the United States.
The club currently have just one friendly planned before the new season against Palermo in Sicily on August 9. The plan is to rest as long the Premier League permits them.
'I try not to think about it, otherwise I will be so anxious,' Guardiola said while at the Club World Cup. 'We will rest the time the Premier League allows us to. And game by game, month by month, we will see.
'And maybe in November, December, January, ask me, Pep. I may say: 'So listen, we are a disaster. We are exhausted. The World Cup destroyed us.' I don't know, but it's the first time in our life that that's happened. So we will see.
'So I try to be relaxed, to enjoy the days here, the good vibes that we have, the competition, to try to win it. And the most important thing, to recover, to find or re-find ourselves what we were. This is my main target in this tournament.'

The former Liverpool defender's dig referenced remarks made by the Arsenal manager during a press conference before the new Premier League season kicked off. The Spaniard said at the time: "Yeah, you keep digging, digging, digging and you have to be digging because one day the gold is going to be there. "That's all the time. When I've been taught, when I've been educated and that's it. "For three seasons we've had more points than any other team in this league, which is incredible. That's how you have all the consistency. "Now we have to do it in a season to have one more point or the same amount of points and more goals different than any other team. That's the objective." Whilst Arteta's remarks about the points total are entertaining and peculiar, they aren't actually accurate either. Despite finishing ahead of Manchester City last season, Pep Guardiola's side have still gathered the most points across the previous three league campaigns, totalling 251. Arsenal, in second place, have amassed 247 points from the last three seasons combined, whilst Liverpool have collected 233. During the same discussion over the Premier League crown, Neville supported the Gunners once more this year, believing the side will ultimately "get it over the line." Neville said: "I've got to stick with Arsenal because I've felt they were going to win it for the last three years. I felt they're going to get it over the line, and it would be wrong of me to change now and I can't split the three of them to be fair." Carragher remained loyal to his former club, who finished 10 points clear of Arsenal last campaign, despite harbouring some concerns about their season's beginning. He said: "I'm going to go for Liverpool but I do think I agree with you in that I think all three of them - anything could happen. "I was a little bit unnerved by what I saw from Liverpool in the first game and there might be a case of, I think there's got to be a little bit of rejigging going on in terms of how we set the team up. It's still early days and you obviously back [Arne] Slot to find a way to make that work." Naturally, Arteta is confident his own squad can finally shake off their misfortune and secure that elusive title. Speaking about the atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium, he added: "The mood of the place, the energy around it, the enthusiasm that the boys, the staff came with from day one, now we're going to do better, to keep improving as a team and to win. Game of Thrones actor leaves Strictly lineup for health reasons
Actor and DJ Kristian Nairn has withdrawn from the 2025 lineup of the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing due to 'unexpected medical reasons'. He was unveiled as the latest celebrity contestant last Friday. He is best known for playing the character of Hodor in four seasons of the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones and also starred as Wee John Feeney in the comedy Our Flag Means Death. In a statement he said he had made the decision to withdraw with 'a heavy heart', adding: 'I was truly looking forward to the journey, and I'm deeply sorry to disappoint anyone who was looking forward to seeing me on the dance floor.' Speaking to his followers on Instagram he explained 'Like so many people at the minute, I've been dealing with a high level of stress and a little bit of grief, if I'm going to be really real. 'I've always been my mother's son and I've always powered through things like this in the past. I think I've got a pretty healthy attitude towards stuff like this. Well, I thought I did, at least. 'But for the first time it's manifested physically and has caused a spike in my vitals as sort of an area of concern. 'Please know I'm OK. I'm under treatment already, and my doctor isn't concerned. After two, maybe three weeks, I'll be pretty much back to normal, but sadly, it's not going to be in time for all the training and everything like that.' He added that he was 'gutted' not to be taking part in the series, calling it a 'wonderful opportunity'. Sarah James, who is chief executive producer at BBC Studios, said they were 'incredibly sorry to lose him from this year's series and we all wish him a speedy recovery'. His replacement on the series will be announced on BBC's The One Show on Thursday at 7pm.
