Jonathan Majors is making his way back to the big screen after his controversial assault trial.
On Wednesday, Jan. 29, Briarcliff Entertainment debuted the trailer for Magazine Dreams, a sports drama Majors, 35, filmed prior to his December 2023 conviction on misdemeanor assault and harassment charges in New York City.
"Killian Maddox is consumed by his dream of becoming a world famous bodybuilder and one day gracing the cover of fitness magazines," reads a synopsis.
"He lives a lonely, regimented life, and his relentless drive for perfection only pushes him deeper towards self-destruction, but beneath his tenacious pursuit of superstardom lies a desperate, aching need for human connection."

"As he battles both the limits of his physical body and his own inner demons, Magazine Dreams explores the lengths one man will go in his haunting quest for recognition in a world that often overlooks him," the synopsis adds.
Magazine Dreams made its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, but its release was put on hold after Majors' trial in New York City began with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Majors was sentenced to participate in a domestic violence treatment program in April 2024 following his December 2023 conviction. He was also fired from his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villain Kang the Conqueror after the conviction.
Magazine Dreams — written and directed by Elijah Bynum (Hot Summer Nights) — also stars Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, Mike O'Hearn, Harrison Page and Harriet Sansom Harris. The movie marks Majors' first appearance on screen since 2023's Creed III, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the second season of Disney+'s Loki.
In June, reports emerged that Majors will star in a revenge thriller titled Merciless, directed by Martin Villeneuve, the brother of Dune director Denis Villeneuve, marking his first role post-conviction.
Magazine Dreams is in theaters March 21.

Disney, Amazon Expand Advertising Partnership

Disney and Amazon are teaming up to expand opportunities for advertisers, integrating the entertainment giant's Real-Time Ad Exchange with the tech giant's demand-side platform (DSP). The partnership, which was announced during Cannes Lions, will give buyers direct access to Disney+, ESPN and Hulu, as well as access to data from both companies for more precise targeting and efficient outcomes. For example, a pet food brand could reach viewers who both consume Disney content and have shown interest in pet products on Amazon. 'By building a direct path connecting Amazon's commerce insights to the full scale of Disney's streaming ecosystem, we're enabling greater accessibility to inventory and audience signals that translate into meaningful results for advertisers leveraging Amazon DSP,' Disney Advertising vice president of programmatic sales Matt Barnes said in a statement. Disney will begin implementing this expanded access with select advertisers in the coming months. Additionally, Disney+ inventory is now available through Amazon DSP in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. 'This collaboration with Disney represents a significant leap forward in advertising effectiveness,' Amazon DSP vice president Kelly MacLean added. 'We're breaking down traditional barriers between content and commerce signals, allowing advertisers to deliver more meaningful experiences to viewers. By connecting Disney's premium content with Amazon's deep consumer understanding, we're creating advertising that works better for everyone — brands reach the right audiences, publishers maximize their inventory value and viewers see more relevant ads.' The agreement comes as Disney reaches a monthly ad-supported audience of 164 million users across Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu, while Prime Video has surpassed 130 million ad-supported users in the U.S. When combining Prime Video with Amazon's other owned and operated entertainment properties such as Twitch, MGM Studios, Wondery and Amazon Music, the tech giant's entertainment portfolio reaches an average monthly ad-supported audience of more than 300 million. 'Lilo & Stitch' actor David Hekili Kenui Bell dies at 46

"Lilo & Stitch" actor David Hekili Kenui Bell has died, according to a Facebook post from his sister Jalene Kanani Bell. Bell was 46 years old. "It is with a heavy heart I share that my sweet, generous, talented, funny, brilliant and handsome little brother David H. K. Bell will spend today in the company of our Heavenly Father," Jalene Kanani Bell wrote in the post, which was shared Sunday. "I've been waiting for the words and mindset to properly express the joy of a human, and Prince of a Man he was, but fate pushed my hand this morning by a pre-scheduled Father's Day newsletter honoring the men in our lives." The Hawai'i Police Department confirmed in a statement to People on Monday that Bell died June 12. "We have launched a coroner's inquest investigation (as is standard practice) and an autopsy is being scheduled to determine the exact cause of death," a police spokesperson said, according to People. "The investigation is ongoing at this time. No foul play is suspected." Bell's representative Lashauna Downie also told People in a statement, "I am learning like you through social media. This is heartbreaking & sad, if true." "He was one of my best talent & embodied the true meaning of aloha…a gentle giant," Downie added. Bell most recently appeared as "Big Hawaiian Dude" in the new live-action "Lilo & Stitch" movie, where he made a lasting impression as the man holding a shave ice near the end of the movie trailer. He was also a guest on the shows "Hawaii Five-0" and "Magnum P.I." "David loved being an actor, doing voiceovers," his sister wrote in her Facebook post Sunday, adding, "The film industry and entertainment was so exciting to him and I loved that he enjoyed the arts." Describing him as "a diamond in the rough" and "a bright and shining star," she said her brother "recently made it on to the big screen with an iconic Lilo & Stich [moment]." "He planned ahead and purchased the best seats in the house for us all to go together to opening night in Kapolei just two short weeks ago," she wrote. "We talked about and were so energized by the fans dressed in L&S gear head to toe, t-shirts, onezees, hats, mask, and the merch galore flying off the shelf as we stood in line for pop-corn." "Hug your loved ones today…our last time together after returning home from the movie was just sitting on my living room couch talking story about life, having a seltzer and doing a little genealogy," she added. "Blessed by this and all the big and small moments, I will keep our memories alive."

In Pixar's Toy Story 5, the Big New Villain Is a Tablet

Pixar is giving its old-school toys a decidedly modern antagonist in its fifth installment of the beloved Toy Story movies: a tablet. During the studio's Friday showcase at Annecy's International Animation Film Festival in France, chief creative officer Pete Docter revealed that Toy Story 5's villain is Lily Pad, a "sneaky" and "prickly" tablet that convinces 8-year-old Bonnie Anderson that friends and games on a device beat dusty ol' toys in the closet. The first concept art shows the frog-faced tablet looming over Buzz, Jessie and Bullseye like a touchscreen tyrant of the toy box. As you can probably foresee, this is a battle between analog toys and always-on tech. (You can stream Toy Story movies one through four on Disney Plus.) The Lily Pad reveal topped a jam-packed Walt Disney Animation and Pixar showcase, where the company rolled out updated release dates, never-before-seen footage and a couple of all-new original films. Toy Story 5: tech is the enemy The premise of Toy Story 5 is that Anderson gets a Lily Pad for school chat and online games. But the tablet decides that Anderson's toys, including Woody, Buzz and Jessie, are holding her back. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack are all returning, while Ernie Hudson steps in as Combat Carl, honoring the late Carl Weathers. Docter shared the opening scene of Toy Story 5, which shows a crate full of stranded Buzz Lightyears trying to escape a desert island. Toy Story 5 is set for release on June 19, 2026, more than 30 years after the first movie came out. It's set a couple of years after the events of Toy Story 4, but no word yet on how Woody, who departed with Bo Peep at the end of that movie, will return to Bonnie's house -- or whether Bo Peep will be in the fifth movie. Toy Story 5 starts off with Buzz Lightyear action figures, stuck in toy mode, searching for Star Command (shown here in concept art). Pixar Pixar's two new original films: Hoppers and Gatto Daniel Chong's Hoppers, scheduled for March 6, 2026, turns an eco-heist into a critter-powered caper: 14-year-old Mabel uploads her mind into a robotic beaver to save her local pond from a highway project. Gatto, slated for summer 2027, centers on Nero, a black cat in Venice who's burned through most of his nine lives doing jobs for a feline mob boss. Now, questioning whether he's wasted those lives, Nero stumbles into an unexpected friendship that could finally give him purpose. The film will be shot in a "living storybook" style, which is new to Pixar. New footage from Zootopia 2 and Elio Jared Bush, Walt Disney Animation Studios' chief creative officer and director-writer of Zootopia 2, showed some new footage and images from the anticipated sequel, which should come out in November. The audience also got to watch a 27-minute sizzle reel from Elio, the cosmic coming-of-age adventure, which opens June 20.
