Why Adeyemi chose Dortmund over Bayern Munich
Speaking in an interview with 'WAZ', the 23-year-old recalled his early days in Munich and his admiration for Bayern legend Arjen Robben.
'I don't need to lie, I played for FC Bayern and was a huge Arjen Robben fan when I was a little boy!" - Adeyemi was in Bayern's youth academy between 2010 and 2011.
'But the older I got, the more I liked that Dortmund was the club in Germany that fought for titles with fewer resources, had very good players, and the best fans in Germany.'
After continuing his development and career at Unterhaching (near Munich), RB Salzburg and FC Liefering, Adeyemi joined Borussia Dortmund in 2022 for €30 million - Bayern Munich were also interested in him during that time.
'I enjoy every moment when I'm at home in Signal Iduna Park. That's why I chose Borussia Dortmund.'
After some ups and downs in his Dortmund career so far, Adeyemi is now considered to be one of BVB's most important forwards and also played a crucial role under headcoach Niko Kovač.

Wayne Rooney says he was 'very disappointed' after Tom Brady questioned work ethic: 'It was very unfair'
Former Birmingham City manager Wayne Rooney isn't pleased with Tom Brady after the former New England Patriots great questioned Rooney's work ethic in a documentary. Rooney said he was "very disappointed" by Brady's comments, which Rooney called "very unfair," according to The Athletic. The whole controversy started after Brady expressed concerns about Rooney during the "Built in Birmingham: Brady & the Blues" docuseries on Amazon Prime. The program, which aired Aug. 1, followed the Birmingham City Football Club after Brady joined the club as a minority owner in 2023. During an episode of the series, Brady called out Rooney's work ethic, saying, "'I'm a little worried about our head coach's work ethic,." He later added, 'I mean, I don't know, I don't have great instincts on that.' Rooney pushed back on that criticism on his podcast, saying Brady's comments were "unfair," per The Athletic. 'I saw that last week from Tom Brady. I think it was a very unfair comment. 'I think Tom came in once, which was the day before a game where the days are a little bit lighter anyway, and I don't think he really understood football that well. But what he does understand is, he's a hard worker, we know that.' 'Football is not the NFL. NFL works for three months a year. Players do need rest as well, so I think it was very unfair, the way he's come out and portrayed that.' Brady won out in the end. Rooney was fired after just 15 matches. Birmingham City turned in one of its worst seasons, and was relegated to League One. While Rooney was upset about the comments, he was careful not to rip Brady. In addition to calling Brady a "hard worker," Rooney said he has "respect" for Brady. Rooney also called Brady "one of the greatest, if not the greatest athlete of all time." Rooney also delivered an all-time out-of-context quote about Brady, saying, "I don't think he really understood football that well." Rooney was obviously using the term "football" to mean soccer, but it's still a funny thing to read about Brady. Birmingham City bounced back quickly after showing Rooney the door. The team broke the record for most points scored in League One the following season and earned a promotion. Rooney was hired by Plymouth Argyle in May of 2024. His tenure with the club lasted just a few months. With the team in last place, Rooney and Plymouth Argyle agreed to mutually split in December. Rooney, considered one of the greatest soccer players of his era, has not been hired by another club since leaving Plymouth Argyle.

Mohamed Mostafa could bounce back at Paris FC
The Egyptian striker on Paris FC's radar Mohamed Mostafa / FC Nantes Recently promoted to Ligue 1, Paris FC continues to attract reinforcements for its attacking line. Just days before the season kicks off, the Parisian club has reportedly added Mohamed Mostafa to its shortlist. According to local media, the Egyptian striker caught the eye of the Parisian management during a recent friendly against FC Nantes, where he looked sharp and dangerous. While Paris FC has made no secret of its interest in the 27-year-old, Mostafa Mohamed is not at the top of the French club's list. Talks are still on hold, but the deal could gain momentum before the end of the summer transfer window. Over the last three seasons with Nantes (2022–2025), Mostafa Mohamed has played 95 Ligue 1 matches, scoring 21 goals and providing 4 assists. In this 2024–2025 campaign, he has netted 5 goals in 30 appearances, completed 159 passes (66% success rate), made 12 dribbles, and had over 80 touches inside the opposition box. His duel and tackle success rate remains close to 50%, underlining his commitment and presence in the attacking third.

Roma working on loan deal for Manchester United's Jadon Sancho
Roma are working on a loan deal to sign Manchester United's Jadon Sancho. The Serie A side have made an offer for the England international but there is an acknowledgement that it would be a tricky deal to complete. Roma are also in talks to sign Aston Villa's Leon Bailey on loan as they look to add to their attacking options. Advertisement The Athletic reported on June 10 that Borussia Dortmund had expressed their interest to Sancho's representatives over a return to the club United paid £73million (now $98.9m) to sign him from in the summer of 2021. Sancho had options in England and around Europe that he was expected to explore before making a decision on his next step. His United contract runs until next June, with the option of a further year. The 25-year-old spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Chelsea, where he made 42 appearances. Chelsea's agreement with United last summer included an obligation to make the move permanent for £25m. The clause was triggered in April when it was mathematically guaranteed that Chelsea could not finish lower than 15th in the Premier League. However, Chelsea did not agree personal terms with Sancho and exercised the option to pay £5m to send him back to United. He scored five goals and provided ten assists during his time at Stamford Bridge, helping the side win the Conference League and finish fourth in the Premier League. Sancho was one of five United first-team players left out of their pre-season tour squad, alongside Marcus Rashford — who has since joined Barcelona on loan — Tyrell Malacia, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony. The group were asked not to report for training until after 5pm, after Ruben Amorim and the rest of the first-team group had left Carrington, earlier this summer. Sancho has played 83 games for United, with his last appearance for the club in the 2024 Community Shield against rivals Manchester City, when he came on as a substitute. He only made three appearances for United in 2023-24 after a public disagreement with then-head coach Erik ten Hag, resulting in him being excluded from the squad and re-join Dortmund on loan in January 2024. Roma finished fifth in Serie A last season and will play in the Europa League this term under new head coach Gian Piero Gasperini. Spot the pattern.
