Dee-Dee gets a major shock as unexpected Corrie return changes everything
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video
Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) went through a rollercoaster of emotions in Coronation Street after she discovered she was pregnant.
The father of the baby was her former fiancé, evil Joel Deering (Calum Lill), and Dee-Dee couldn't cope with the idea that she was carrying the child of someone who'd done such terrible things.
She only went through with the pregnancy because her child could potentially be a life-saving bone marrow donor for Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton)'s son Frankie.
After a horrific birth experience during which she lost a lot of blood and had to have a hysterectomy, Dee-Dee had to come to terms with the news that she wouldn't be able to have any more children. She was also determined to do something about the racism she encountered from the maternity department.
As for the baby, Laila, she'd decided early on that she would give her up for adoption. Arrangements were made for her brother James (Jason Callender) and his partner Danny to adopt the baby.
They were unable to take Laila straight away, so the Bailey family cared for Laila in the meantime. However this meant that Dee-Dee spent more time with her and she realised she was becoming attached to her.
People she confided in, such as Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and Alya (Sair Khan), insisted it wasn't too late for her to decide to keep the baby. Alya said that James would forgive her eventually and she should follow her heart.
Despite this advice, Dee-Dee told James that she wanted him to take Laila back to America with him – and the sooner the better. Even so, she was devastated as she watched her brother leaving the Street with her baby. More Trending
In episodes airing soon, Dee-Dee is focusing on work and her campaign to ensure better training for midwives. She tells Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) that she's taken on a custody case, and her dad worries that the similarities with her own situation make it a difficult subject for her to be dealing with.

Dee-Dee tells Daniel (Rob Mallard) that she's certain she made the right decision in giving Laila to James and Danny to bring up, but her family are less convinced and hope she doesn't end up regretting her decision.
That is about to be put to the test because, as Dee-Dee and Daniel head out of the bistro a taxi pulls up – and James gets out, carrying Laila.

John questioned by police on Nate's murder in Emmerdale
In the wake of the discovery of Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) untimely Emmerdale death, accusations are flying, but it's John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) who is sweating. Murderous John seemed to be high and dry after the dredging of the lake was called off, and with Aidan slipping back into his coma – the other person who could blow his cover – he smugly returned to the village to resume the new life he'd created for himself. But reality came back to bite him on the bum when they dredged the lake anyway and Nate's body was finally found. It's badly decomposed so it'll be harder for the police to gather much if any DNA, but there will be a thorough investigation regardless and John is not in the clear. Then his worst living nightmare comes true – the police show up to question him about the day Nate disappeared. Having got away with things for this long he plays it cool. But as it turns out, it's not him they're after – it's Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley). Now this does not a happy Cain make, and though the finger isn't pointing at John, John still needs to work hard to protect Cain from going down for a crime he didn't commit – especially in the wake of Tracy Shankley's (Amy Walsh) accusation towards him. Tracy later walks passed and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) can't resist giving her what for. Cain is left shaken and puts voice to a dark thought that he believes Tracy did away with her ex. Finger firmly pointed, Tracy feebly tries to defend herself, but John concocts a dreadful plan to take the heat off Cain. The police soon arrive at Tug Ghyll with a search warrant and make a massive discovery – Nate's phone in Frankie's playhouse. Now the fear sets in for Tracy as she realises how bad things are starting to look – just wait until they find out she's been using his credit card too. But before they even get that far, they learn there is no record of the removal men who came to collect Nate's stuff – the ones that Tracy was the only one to interact with. It's looking damning and Tracy is taken to the station. More Trending The police reveal they suspect Nate died the day he was due to leave, so quick thinking Tracy gives a false alibi – which implicates Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick). Coronation Street confirms huge Lisa shock as Betsy star reacts
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video There's a tough week ahead for Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) in Coronation Street next week, as she faces Craig Tinker's memorial service – but there's more trouble on the cards. As she and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) admit how difficult the event will be, with Kit revealing that the family have asked him to make a speech, Carla Connor (Alison King) confides in Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) that she's worried about Lisa. In a bid to help Lisa take her mind off things, Carla comes up with a plan. As the day of Craig's memorial service arrives, Lisa apologises to Carla, before setting about distracting herself by going through some old files. However, when Betsy comes snooping and tries to take a peek at one of the files, Lisa snatches it from her, leaving the curious teen intrigued. Desperate to know what her mum was so keen to hide, Betsy confronts Lisa, who is quick to lie. She tells Betsy that the file contains information about Betsy's paternity, and that she can't see it until she turns 18. When Lisa arrives at the memorial service and notices Kit's absence, she is worried, but soon steps up in his place to deliver a moving speech for Craig. Meanwhile, Betsy clearly wants to know more about her mysterious findings, as Carla later returns home and catches her going through Lisa's files – but what exactly has she dug up? When Betsy shows a picture of the letter she's found to Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), she reveals that she intends to get to the bottom of it… When we caught up with actresses Cait and Sydney at the British Soap Awards, Cait shared her reaction to the twists in this story, saying: 'I was tired reading it!' 'There is a lot of drama coming up!' Sydney agreed, continuing: 'I'm intrigued for people to see it!' When Lisa asks Betsy to join her for lunch the next day, Betsy makes out that she's meeting Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne), who has recently been released from the STC. However, that proves to be a lie when she and Lauren enter the prison visiting room. As Betsy admits that she's a nervous wreck, is she set to make a deal with the devil? Meanwhile, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) drops her right in it when he lets slip to Lisa and Carla that Betsy ordered a cab to Highfield Prison. How will they react? As dramatic as this story is set to be, both Sydney Martin and Vicky Myers promised moments of light. 'I don't know how much we can say but there's some exciting stuff coming up,' Sydney promised. 'There's also some really sweet, important scenes in there. I can't go into detail, but I'm glad that they're airing.' More Trending Later in the evening, Vicky told us that 'there is a lot' still to come. 'There is a lot coming, but there's also periods of time that they're really happy, and there's periods of time when it's not going so well, but that's indicative of any relationship, isn't it? And any family life. View More » 'And living together in the small flat… Let's see how they navigate all of that!'
