Titans waive Treylon Burks after franchise-haunting trade
The Titans announced Monday that wide receiver Treylon Burks, whom the team selected No. 18 overall after acquiring the pick as part of the Brown trade, has been waived.
Burks was waived with injury designation after hurting his collarbone during practice on Saturday, and if he clears waivers, he'll wind up back on Tennessee's injured reserve.

The Titans drafted Burks out of Arkansas with the hope that the 6-foot-2, 225-pound wideout could eventually replace Brown, who already had one Pro-Bowl appearance and two seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards under his belt.
Instead, Burks never proved himself to be an impactful NFL player.

He hauled in 444 yards for one touchdown his rookie year, but notched just 221 yards in 2023 and missed most of the 2024 season with an ACL injury.
The Titans signed former University of Tennessee wide receiver Ramel Keyton to fill Burks' roster spot.
Tennessee dealt Brown to the Eagles on the night of the 2022 draft in exchange for the No. 18 pick (Burks) and the 101st overall selection, which they traded.

Brown has been terrific since arriving in Philadelphia, notching back-to-back Pro-Bowl nods in 2022 and 2023 and winning the Super Bowl with the Eagles in 2025.
In his three seasons in Philly, he has accumulated 4,031 receiving yards and hauled in 25 touchdowns.
Frustrated Titans fans took to social media at the news of Burks' getting waived, with many teeing off on then-general manager Jon Robinson.

'AJ Brown for Burks. Jon Robinson should be banned from football,' wrote one fan on X.
'Jon Robinson will pay for what he did to this franchise,' said another.
'Good riddance,' a third said of Burks. 'One of too many crappy 1st round picks by this franchise over the years.'

Is Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown a top-20 player in the NBA?
Jaylen Brown will head into the 2025-26 NBA season with the pressure of leading a franchise on his shoulders. With Jayson Tatum likely out for the season with an Achilles tendon injury, Brown will be the Boston Celtics' star player and will be expected to carry a heavy load on both sides of the ball. Joe Mazzulla will likely change some of his offensive and defensive approaches. Brown is at his best when pressuring the rim or working out of the mid-range. Therefore, we may see a slight shift in how many threes the Celtics take, especially if Brown is going to lead the team in shot attempts, although his drive and kick playmaking should ensure there's a healthy diet of catch-and-shoot threes. It's likely that his point-of-attack defense will also be a factor in how the Celtics look to thrive on the defensive side of the floor. Heading into the season, Brown will likely be viewed as a top-20 to top-25 player in the NBA. The hope is that he will end the campaign as a top-15 candidate. In a recent episode of the "Hoops Tonight" podcast, Jason Timpf continued his NBA player rankings, putting Brown at 21, which was two spots ahead of Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat and one spot ahead of Evan Mobley from the Cleveland Cavaliers. You can hear Timpf's full reasoning for Brown being ranked at 21 by clicking on the embedded video above. 2025 AFC North Odds: Can Steelers, Bengals Overcome Ravens?
Arguably the most competitive division in football now has three superstar quarterbacks and a polarizing rookie QB in the fold. Which squad is favored to win the AFC North? Here are the odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of July 31, as well as what to know about the division. AFC North Ravens: -150 (bet $10 to win $16.67 total) Bengals: +250 (bet $10 to win $35 total) Steelers: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total) Browns: +3000 (bet $10 to win $310 total) What to know: Another AFC division streak? Kinda. Baltimore has won the division twice in a row, but Cincinnati won it in 2021 and 2022. Pittsburgh won it in 2016, 2017 and 2020, while the Ravens won it in 2018 and 2019. Needless to say, this is one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL. Baltimore is a favorite to three-peat, behind two-time MVP Lamar Jackson. Cincy is second, as it returns arguably the most lethal QB-WR duo in the NFL, Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase. Pittsburgh lands third. Can its new, old QB Aaron Rodgers have a resurgence? Key addition: There is a new quarterback in Pittsburgh — ever heard of him? Aaron Rodgers joins his third team, after 18 years in Green Bay and two with the New York Jets. Despite his laundry list of individual honors — four MVPs, four first-team All-Pro selections, 10 Pro Bowl nods — Rodgers only has one Super Bowl ring and one Super Bowl MVP to his name. Pittsburgh made the playoffs in 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024, but it is 0-5 in those playoff appearances. Its last playoff win came in 2016. Rodgers' last playoff win came in 2021 in Green Bay. The Steelers acquired DK Metcalf on the outside, and are hoping that a fully healthy Rodgers can pick up where he left off last season, when he threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 starts. UNC standout wide receiver excited about new role in Jackonsville Jaguars' offense
The Washington Commanders were arguably the NFL's greatest surprise during the 2024-2025 season, winning two tough road playoff games en route to the NFC Championship. Washington marched into Tampa Bay and beat the Buccaneers, 23-20, on a last-second field goal in the Wild Card Round. A week later, the Commanders dispatched the top-seeded Detroit Lions, 45-31, advancing to play the Philadelphia Eagles. What you may not know about Washington's success last season, though, is that former Tar Heel Dyami Brown played a major role in it. Brown caught a career-high 30 passes, which included a touchdown and a career-best 308 yards, but he broke out in the postseason with 229 additional yards and another score. Now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Brown recently spoke about his excitement playing in a young, loaded wide receiver room that includes Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr. "At the end of the day, we want to come in and find our identity of who we are and who we're going to be," Brown told ESPN's Michael DiRocco. "And I think with the offense that we have and the players that we have, we can make a lot of things happen. We know we all do the exact same thing and it's kind of hard to guard three people that can necessarily do the same thing and then be explosive at the same time." Brown and his new teammates will first take the field on Saturday, August 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Jacksonville. Here's to hoping Brown, one of the best receivers in recent memory at North Carolina, has a breakout year in Duval County.
