
Handcuffed, shirtless man escapes police custody in Portage la Prairie
Byron Roulette, 26, was last seen on 5th Street SE, near Queen Avenue, in Portage la Prairie at 7:30 p.m. He was handcuffed and believed to be shirtless, and wearing grey-brown shorts with blood stains on his shoes.
Roulette had been in the custody of the Manitoba First Nation Police Service, which arrested him earlier in the day. The MNFPS reported the escape to the RCMP around 9 p.m., the Mounties said in a news release.
Multiple officers from both the RCMP and MNFPS are searching in the area where Roulette escaped. Specialized units are also helping, including RCMP police dog service and remotely piloted aircraft system.
The RCMP is asking the public to be on the lookout for Roulette but to not approach him if seen. Call 911 immediately.

Shot fired at vehicle during road rage incident

(Melanie Borrelli / CTV Windsor) The Windsor Police Service (WPS) is investigating after they say a gunshot was fired during a road rage incident. The incident happened around 11 p.m. Saturday in the 1300 block of Riverside Drive East. When officers arrived on scene, they located a vehicle with damage to its rear window consistent with a gunshot. According to police, two vehicles were heading east on Riverside Drive when one driver reportedly yelled obscenities at the complainant. Then, someone in the vehicle allegedly shot a gun at the complainant's car. The suspect vehicle fled the scene, and no physical injuries have been reported. The suspect vehicle is described as a late model, four-door sedan, possibly grey or chocolate brown in colour. The driver is described as a black man in his 20s. Two other occupants were seen in the vehicle, though no descriptions are currently available. The Major Crimes Unit is investigation the incident and are asking residents and business owners to review dashcam or surveillance footage between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on July 26 for any relevant evidence. Three charged after early-morning metal theft in Palmerston
Three people are facing charges after allegedly stealing metal from a business in Palmerston early Saturday morning. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police were called just before 4 a.m. for a report of three males stealing metal from a local business. Police said the suspects fled the scene when officers arrived, but were later located and arrested. A 33-year-old from Listowel, a 35-year-old from Listowel and a 40-year-old from Atwood have all been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments and break and enter.

Lethbridge man sentenced for making guns
Lethbridge police seized a rifle, crossbow, multiple airsoft pistols, homemade zip guns, a homemade long barrel shotgun and assorted homemade gun parts and ammunition from a home in the 300 block of Fifth Street South on June 16, 2023. A Lethbridge man has been sentenced to time behind bars and a firearm prohibition for making guns. In June, 2023, Lethbridge police got a tip that someone was selling drugs out of the window of a ground floor condo unit in the 300 block of Fifth Street South. When officers searched the building, they discovered a significant quantity of weapons including a rifle, crossbow, airsoft pistols and homemade guns along with drugs and cash. Richard Latremouille, 65, was sentenced to 30 months jail time and a firearm prohibition.
