Watch Michigan State QB Aidan Chiles connect with new receiver Omari Kelly with a rocket
Over the weekend, Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles was able to find Kelly with an absolute rocket on a deep ball, and it got social media buzzing. Make no mistake about it, Aidan Chiles has one of the best arms in all of college football. He's firmly in the top ten in terms of arm talent, and he might be even higher than that, so it's fun to see him flexing that ability with a new group of receivers that are able to be in the right places at the right times to catch those bombs. By all accounts, Chiles has looked sharp and comfortable in camp so far, which is scary news for opposing teams.

MSU hoops lands near middle of Big Ten in power rankings from Andy Katz
College basketball analyst Andy Katz is expecting a notable drop off from the Spartans next season. Katz released updated power rankings for the Big Ten, and he has the Spartans dropping to the middle of the league next year. In his rankings of all 18 Big Ten schools, Katz has the Spartans coming in at No. 7. Ahead of Michigan State is Purdue (No. 1), Michigan (No. 2), Oregon (No. 3), UCLA (No. 4), Illinois (No. 5) and Wisconsin (No. 6). Michigan State won the Big Ten by three games last season and went the deepest of any team from the league in the NCAA Tournament in reaching the Elite Eight. The Spartans, however, have lost a number of key contributors from last year's squad -- including Jaden Akins and Jase Richardson. I personally have Michigan State right around the same spot as Katz but can understand some Spartans fans considering this a slight for the defending conference champs. I wouldn't be surprised if Michigan State surprised some folks again and ended up near the top of the league as we saw this past season. Pro Football Focus provides odds for MSU to reach College Football Playoff
Pro Football Focus (PFF) is giving Michigan State essentially no chance at reaching the College Football Playoff in 2025. While I'm personally bullish on the Spartans and think they have the ceiling potential to contend for a spot in the College Football Playoff, that is simply not the case with PFF. The well-known football rating site is giving the Spartans a 2% chance of reaching the College Football Playoff this fall. There Spartans' 2% chance of reaching the College Football Playoff from PFF is tied for the lowest in the Big Ten. Michigan State is tied with Northwestern and Purdue for the longest odds of reaching the College Football Playoff. Michigan State comes into this season with a win total over/under of 5.5 so simply reaching a bowl game is the first and most realistic goal for the Spartans. But I'm still surprised to see teams such as UCLA, Maryland and Wisconsin having better odds from PFF than the Spartans.
