Zero goals in 10 matches: Kaizer Chiefs striker leaving?

Kaizer Chiefs are expected to introduce at least one new striker before the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season in August. Before that happens, one or two existing strikers have to open up parking spots at the club's training base.
It has been five months since Morris, born in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, 31 years ago, joined from SuperSport United. With zero goals in 10 games, the injury-prone striker is reportedly on his way out of Kaizer Chiefs.
According to Soccer Laduma, the club is planning on opening up space for expected new strikers. One of the major targets is Fiston Mayele. Kaizer Chiefs announce Tashreeq Morris from SuperSport United. Image: kaizerchiefs.com
'There was apparently a meeting believed to be held just before the final game of the season where both management and the technical team are believed to have agreed that it would he a great idea to loan Morris out next season. So he is set for a loan at the start of next season,' a source told Soccer Laduma .
'As much as they are looking at loaning him out, the club's first priority is to find a striker and sign that player first. From how things are now, they have targeted several strikers but no deal has been reached with anyone yet and that's what could probably delay Morris' loan move. But they are working on that,' an additional insider told the outlet.

Tanzanian club name their price for Kaizer Chiefs target

Kaizer Chiefs are are looking at a number of options both locally and abroad to boost their attack for nexts season. Chiefs haven't been convincing in front of goal for several seasons now and coach Nasreddine Nabi Nabi has gone on a personal mission to bring some attacking threats to Chiefs , notably in his most recent trip. The Tunisian mentor went back to Tanzania, a country he had great success in with Yanga SC. Part of his mission was to convince big target Feisal Salum to join him at Amakhosi. That, according to reports proved to be a rather successful journey. But Salum appears not to have been the only target that Nabi was trying to lure to Chiefs. According to media reports both locally and in Tanzania, Simba SC star Jean Charles Ahoua. Now according to Soccer-Laduma , Amakhosi are indeed interested 'Nabi was here last month and it's believed that he said he was after Feisal Salum from Azam FC as well as Jean Charles Ahoua from Simba SC. Apparently Kaizer Chiefs have shown keen interest in these two players. It will all depend on the talks now on which one they can sign or if they sign both. But Nabi and another Chiefs official (Tera Maliwa) were here to look at those players last month,' Another source admits that Simba have asked Chiefs to pay R10 million for their prized asset Ahoua. 'They are able to sell him (Ahoua). They are willing to sell him at the price they want. It's round about 600k USD (R10.7million). So Chiefs have to meet that if they really want him. That's how things are with Jean and Kaizer Chiefs,' said the source, Chiefs fans would you be happy to see your club add Ahoua ahead of next season? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. Kaizer Chiefs cool interest in Terrence Mashego

Kaizer Chiefs are actively searching for a new left-back, but recent developments suggest that Terrence Mashego of Mamelodi Sundowns is no longer on their radar. Despite being linked with the 29-year-old, the Glamour Boys appear to have shifted their attention elsewhere. Mashego, who joined Sundowns in September 2022, may exit the club at the end of June. His future hangs in the balance, especially with Sundowns keen to secure the services of Stellenbosch FC's Fawaaz Basadien. However, sources close to the situation have confirmed that Mashego won't be heading to Naturena. A source revealed that Chiefs had the chance to sign Mashego earlier this year but opted against it. 'Sundowns offered Mashego to Chiefs in January, and they turned it down,' said the source. Despite being previously linked with the former Cape Town City defender, Amakhosi seem firmly focused on Basadien as their primary target. But with Sundowns also vying for the Stellies star, Chiefs could be forced to look at alternative options to strengthen their backline. Mashego has struggled for regular minutes at Chloorkop, and his frustration is beginning to show. Although he has made 45 appearances since joining Sundowns, this season he has featured in only 13 matches, a drop that reportedly led to his exclusion from the Bafana Bafana squad. Adding to the drama, Sundowns have now triggered the contract extension clause in Mashego's deal, likely as a strategic move to retain control over his future amid increasing interest from Stellenbosch FC. With Mashego's future up in the air and Kaizer Chiefs laser-focused on other targets. The upcoming transfer window promises plenty of twists. Whether Chiefs can beat Sundowns to Basadien's signature, or are forced to pursue a third option, remains to be seen. Which left-back should Kaizer Chiefs sign? PSL finally announces new dates for the playoffs

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has officially announced new dates for the relegation/promotion playoffs. The three-team mini-tournament was initially scheduled to get underway on 27 May but the league had to postpone it. And this was due to unresolved issues in the Motsepe Foundation Championship involving Durban City, JDR Stars and Cape Town Spurs. Both JDR Stars and Cape Town Spurs accused champions Durban City of fielding Saziso Magawana, claiming he was not properly registered. However, their cases were dismissed last, and thus, paving way for Durban City to be crowned champions. Now, the ruling also meant both Orbit College and Casric Stars were to play in the playoffs alongside Cape Town City. Of course, Cape Town City are disappointed with the PSL that the game between SuperSport United and Golden Arrows had to be replayed after the season had 'officially' concluded. Nonetheless, they have since accepted their fate and are gearing up for the playoffs to try and retain their Betway Premiership status. PSL confirms relegation/promotion playoffs dates.
