
ZATCA Foils Attempt To Smuggle 310,000 Captagon Pills Through Jeddah Port
ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi said the illicit pills were discovered hidden in various compartments of a vehicle arriving at the port.
Upon uncovering the concealed shipment, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, leading to the arrest of eight individuals believed to be linked to the case.
Al-Harbi reaffirmed the authority's commitment to tightening customs control across Saudi Arabia's entry points, emphasizing that such efforts are vital to protecting society from the dangers of drug trafficking.

According to ZATCA, the illicit pills—containing the amphetamine-based drug—were found concealed inside the clothing of two passengers arriving on separate flights. The first smuggling attempt involved 34,588 pills, while 34,457 pills were intercepted in the second case using the same concealment method. The authority emphasized its ongoing efforts to strengthen customs control at all Saudi ports, reaffirming its commitment to combating smuggling in line with its core objective of protecting society from harmful substances and illegal trade.
