The best restaurants in Business Bay 2025
Askim
There's a broad menu at Askim but underpinning everything are the flavours of Turkey and the Levant. Salads are colourful and fragrant (the Askim salad with dried figs, beetroot, pecans, feta, balsamic and orange is almost too good to share), grilled kebabs come perfectly charred, the manakish is thin and generously topped and the pida are huge.
You'll have to somehow save space for a dessert – from ice cream, cotton candy to Snickers cake, these are an indulgence not to be swerved here. Sit on the terrace during the cooler months and take your time.

Carna

The brainchild of famed Italian butcher Dario Cecchini, there's a meaty nose-to-tail menu that will appeal to carnivores. Cuts include picanha, tenderloin, striploin, rib-eye and tomahawk.
Interiors are plush, views are wow-worthy and the dishes shine, making this not only one of the best restaurants in Business Bay but also one of the best steakhouses in Dubai.

One of the best – and most affordable – French restaurants in Dubai, Couqley in Business Bay is a delightful spot for a Parisian-style meal. The menu boasts all the French classics – beef tartare, tuna tartare, moules frites and an excellent steak frites, swimming with a glorious signature steak sauce.
Veggies are not left out here though, as there's a top-notch cheese plate, as well as pappardelle aux champignons et truffes, burrata salad and one of the tastiest sides in town – grilled Portobello with Parmesan. With plenty of deals and a relaxed vibe, there's a lot to like about Couqley.

Em Sherif Café
Credit: Em Sherif Café
Known in Beirut as one of the most elegant restaurants in the city, Em Sherif comes with lofty expectations. And here in Dubai it lives up to those high hopes. The menu in Dubai is a more casual, home-style experience than the Beirut original, and the food is utterly delicious. Start with creamy hummus and sesame-studded falafel before moving onto cheese pie and a perfectly cooked mixed grill. A charming experience with generous, tasty plates – it's no one wonder Em Sherif is the best Lebanese restaurant in Dubai.

Fi'lia

Looking for a top-notch dinner with panoramic views? Fi'lia is the spot for you. Serving up Italian-leaning Mediterranean dishes, the menu is broken down into three sections: nonna – traditional Italian flavours your grandmother would make, mamma – contemporary twists on a classic, and figlia – a daughter's modern approach to a generational masterpiece.
There's also a selection of both classic and special pizzas with margheritas, burrata bresaola and more as well as 'la famiglia' sharing dishes. Set on the 70th floor of the hotel, there are 360-degree views across the city, while indoors is bright and airy with plenty of foliage.

If you're looking for somewhere to eat Turkish food in Souk Al Bahar, Günaydin is the one for you. This fancy Turkish steakhouse has prime views of Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Fountain show, so it's an impressive place to tuck into the tasty grills.
Having started life as a butcher's shop in Istanbul, there are plenty of meaty mains to try including steaks and a separate lamb menu. Pick on hot and cold mezze while you ponder which cut you want.

Jun's
(Credit: Jun's)
Hailed as one of the most creative Asian restaurants in Dubai, Jun's comes from acclaimed chef Kelvin Cheung and proudly serves up 'third culture cooking'.
A blend of flavours from around the region, with some North American influences, expect everything from lobster pani puri and red-hot chicken kaarage and waffles through to Jamaican-Chinese lamb neck, jalapeño onion burger and bone marrow shrimp fried rice. And of course, the now infamous rainbow heirloom carrots, the only vegetarian dish we've ever eaten that tastes like actual smoked salmon.
Try them, and a heap of other signatures when you're there. Innovative, fun and thoroughly delicious – with top-notch service and Burj Khalifa views to boot.

Tong Thai
Best restaurants in Business Bay. Credit: Tong Thai
This swanky restaurant at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai serves high-end Thai food and is a longstanding spot that's popular with lovers of Thai food. The restaurant itself is a cavernous space, with moody red lighting, hanging lanterns and swish interior design. The menu is also suitably high-end, with all the classics present and correct, but given an upmarket touch.
You can choose your spice levels and dishes are indulgent – they're also large so order a few to share and get stuck in. One of the best Thai restaurants in Dubai for many a year, with no signs of fading yet.

Inside ‘secret' plans to turn iconic Glasgow building into ‘one of Europe's finest hotels'
It's one of Glasgow's biggest American-Classical-style commercial buildings UNDER WRAPS Inside 'secret' plans to turn iconic Glasgow building into 'one of Europe's finest hotels' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PLANS are in progress to transform an iconic Glasgow building into one of Europe's "finest" hotels. The B-listed 95 Bothwell Street building in the city centre is understood to be mostly empty. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Plans have been lodged with Glasgow City Council to transform 95 Bothwell Street Credit: Google Maps It's one of Glasgow's biggest American Classical-style commercial buildings. Proposals to turn it into a 235-room hotel have been submitted to the council. But details about the hotel company eyeing to take over the building have been kept under wraps. A statement about the proposed design read: 'The proposed confidential hotel operator is particularly excited about the potential provided by the building to create a best-in-class hotel of distinction, which they anticipate will be one of the finest in their operator's European portfolio. 'The listed building is soon to become entirely unoccupied. The commercial office use for which the building was built and designed is no longer viable. "The building has early indications of corrosion of the structural steel frame, which needs to be addressed to prevent damage to the significant external masonry façade. 'The proposed development is conservation-led and will integrate and repurpose the significant parts of the listed building into the new hotel use, whilst retaining its external appearance and presence within the street.' HFD Property Group Limited has lodged a planning permission request to alter the use of the building from 'offices at upper floors and restaurant/cafe and retail on ground floor to hotel". The proposals also include constructing a two-storey roof extension. Glasgow City Council is considering the application.

Virgin orders 12 new high-speed trains in biggest challenge to Eurostar yet
Virgin has cranked up its game in the race to end Eurostar's decades-long monopoly of Channel Tunnel rail services. Sir Richard Branson's company has signed a deal for 12 high-speed Avelia Stream trains with Alstom, the French train manufacturer. Virgin will use the rolling stock for journeys from the UK to mainland Europe by 2030, if it secures a sought-after deal to run services through the Channel Tunnel. The plan was revealed in the company's submission to the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) for permission to run services on HS1, the high-speed line from London St Pancras to Kent and on through the Tunnel. According to these documents, Virgin wants to launch routes in the next five years, with trains from London to Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam, with potential for additional destinations in Germany and Switzerland. If successful, this would put Branson's brand in direct competition with Eurostar. The submission, which suggests that Virgin is the only applicant that has secured funding and trains, is the first significant challenge to Eurostar's dominance of the Channel Tunnel since it began operating in 1994. Virgin first announced plans to take on Eurostar in January. Then in March, a spokesperson said there were 'no more major hurdles to overcome' in its bid to offer an alternative for travellers. This came after the ORR confirmed that Eurostar's Temple Mills maintenance depot could be used by other operators. The depot, where trains are maintained and stored, is crucial for other operators to compete. Alongside improving choice for passengers, Metro understands that Virgin's aim is to inject some joy into their journey across the Channel, which suggests the onboard experience itself will be a priority for the firm. In an effort to win over Eurostar customers, they'll also be sweetening the pot, with bookings connected to its Group-wide rewards programme, Virgin Red. But Branson's iconic brand is not the only one with ambitions. In April, a new potential rival emerged in the form of Italy's national state-owned railway company. Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (FS Group) said it will launch a new high-speed rail service between London and Paris by 2029 that would compete with Eurostar. The group, which is a co-owner of Avanti West Coast, could extend the route to Marseilles, Lyon and Milan, and is also looking at a possible reopening of Ashford International in Kent. Eurostar stopped calling at the station March 2020 due to Covid. Gemini Trains has also confirmed plans to launch a fleet of 10 trains from the UK to Europe. Other players include London St Pancras High Speed (which recently rebranded from HS1) and Spanish start-up Evolyn. Fares on the rail link between the UK and France have soared since the pandemic, but all of this moving and shaking suggests passengers can soon look forward to a change in the game. More Trending 'Any competition is good competition, and a new player would obviously help to bring rail fares down,' Zoe Adjey, Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality at the University of East London, previously told Metro. She says it's high time that the UK levels up its rail services, both at home and abroad. 'When you think back 30 years ago when we first got Eurostar at Waterloo, you should have been able to move to Manchester at the same speed – that never happened,' she notes. 'The rail industry hasn't done what they were supposed to be doing.' Riccardough's Pizza Kitchen to bring a slice of Italian heritage back to Oban
Oban is set to welcome Riccardough's, a new food business with a whole lot of history behind it. And one that promises to serve up a taste of authentic Italian pizza, many locals will remember fondly. Riccardough's Pizza Kitchen, a newly refurbished and eye-catching mobile pizza van, will soon be hitting the streets of Oban and surrounding villages. Behind the venture is 61-year-old Riccardo Pacitti, the son of the late Luigi and Dorina Pacitti, who ran the much-loved Luigi's Pizzeria and chip shop in the town for many years. Luigi's chip shop in Oban was a local institution. Known for its authentic Italian pizza and classic fish and chips, it became a community favourite. For years, locals and visitors alike queued for its fresh flavours and the warm, family-run atmosphere that made it a much-missed part of the town's food scene. The Pacitti family were pioneers of authentic Italian pizza in Oban, introducing freshly made bases and traditional toppings to customers long before the trend took off in Scotland. 'I was working in the chip shop at the time and people just loved it,' said Riccardo. 'We were the first in Oban to serve real, fresh Italian pizza. It's something I've always been proud of.' After leaving the family business, Riccardo spent 22 years working at sea. He returned home to Oban in 2020 due to health reasons and the impact of the Covid pandemic. Since then, he has been looking for a way back into the food trade — but finding a restaurant premises proved difficult. 'I was never thinking about a van,' he said. 'But my daughter Natalie and her partner David encouraged me to give it a go.' Natalie runs a successful beauty business Oro Rosa, in the shop premises her grandparents once owned, and David MacPhee runs a digital marketing company, Digital Minded, and the This is Oban website. 'They've really helped me get this off the ground,' Riccardo said. The result is Riccardough's Pizza Kitchen — a fully renovated pizza van that has been in the works since March and has just received a striking new wrap from Impact Branding. Riccardo grew up steeped in Italian cooking, learning recipes and techniques from his parents. He says Riccardough's will allow him to share that heritage with a new generation of customers. Riccardough's Pizza Kitchen will serve at lunchtimes in Oban town centre near Tesco, before moving on to villages such as Connel, Dunbeg and others in the evenings. The van will also be available for parties, weddings and events, with Riccardo working on a set schedule so people know when and where to find it. As for the menu, Riccardo is keeping his cards close to his chest. 'I'm keeping the recipe and flavours under my chef's hat for now,' he said. 'But let's just say they'll be familiar to anyone who remembers Luigi's Pizzeria.' With the final touches being put in place, Riccardough's Pizza Kitchen is expected to open very soon.
