EF Ultimate Break opens a new chapter with book-led series
The tour operator, which specializes in travel for 18- to 35-year-olds, has debuted a collection of itineraries for 2026 that are inspired by BookTok, a popular community on TikTok where users post videos about their favorite reads and tag them #booktok.
The launch of the literary itineraries comes after research EF Ultimate Break conducted among its travelers found that 62% want to visit destinations with ties to their favorite books. And across the board, travel inspired by books is becoming more popular, galvanized by the resurgence of book clubs, literary festivals and bookish celebrations,
EF Ultimate Break created four itineraries, which it will operate both as scheduled group departures and private tours.
EF Ultimate Break president Heather Leisman said it was seeing a shift toward young people seeking out more meaningful travel experiences and connecting face-to-face. "Our new BookTok-inspired trips give travelers the chance to turn those online conversations into real-world friendships while exploring the places that bring their favorite stories to life," she said.
The "Highlights of Switzerland: Inspired by ACOTAR" itinerary will take romantasy lovers across the country in nine days, inspired by the popular "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series by Sarah J. Maas. Highlights include a book club discussion of the series, a visit to the Swiss Riviera and a dinner where guests can don their finest Night Court attire (IYKYK).
Emily Henry fans, this one's for you: a 12-day "Cruise Croatia: Inspired by People We Meet on Vacation" itinerary that will explore the country by boat. The book features multiple vacation destinations, including Croatia, and on the real-world trip, travelers will have opportunities to bond over explorations of Makarska, Split and Mljet.
The "Cairo, Athens & Rome: Inspired by Percy Jackson" itinerary will spend 11 days in three countries, starting in Egypt and ending in Italy. Ancient history is the focus of this itinerary, with time spent visiting the pyramids in Cairo, walking the same streets as gods and monsters in Athens and exploring ancient ruins in Rome.
Though not yet available for booking, EF plans a fourth itinerary for witches and wizards. The "London & Scotland Escape: Inspired by Harry Potter" will spend eight magical days in the U.K. between London and Edinburgh. Travelers will visit Harry Potter filming locations, explore London as a Muggle and visit the Scottish Highlands, which inspired Hagrid's hut, the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade.

Look of the Week: Lindsay Lohan just recreated this iconic ‘Freaky Friday' costume
EDITOR'S NOTE: Featuring the good, the bad and the ugly, 'Look of the Week' is a regular series dedicated to unpacking the most talked about outfit of the last seven days. Over two decades have passed since the release of Disney's comedy film 'Freaky Friday,' but at the sequel's premiere in London on Thursday, it seemed like no time at all. Chemistry abound between Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan — who are reprising their roles as mother Tess Coleman and daughter Anna — as they posed for photos amongst confetti. Even the red carpet was designed in lilac and green, reminiscent of the poster artwork for the original 2003 film. Lohan, who starred in the first film when she was just 16 years old, amped up the nostalgia further with her choice of outfit: a custom lavender metal mesh dress by Ludovic de Saint Sernin, which was embellished with Swarovski crystals, and a sparkling Judith Leiber guitar-shaped purse. For eagle-eyed fans, the ensemble might have looked familiar. It was an ode to one of the original 'Freaky Friday' costumes designed by Genevieve Tyrrell. In the film, after switching bodies for a day, Tess and Anna reach a nirvana of empathy and understanding. Tess accepts Anna's ambitions of becoming a professional musician, while Anna comes to terms with her mother's new relationship. In the closing scene, Anna performs with her band at her mother's wedding, wearing a lilac-colored lace-trimmed two piece by cult 1990s fashion label Mandalay, which served as the inspiration for Sernin's custom gown. 'I've been dreaming and manifesting this moment for nearly 20 years,' Sernin wrote on Instagram. He also thanked Andrew Mukamal, Lohan's influential stylist, who has been widely credited with popularizing method dressing after dressing Margot Robbie in a series of doll-like outfits for the 'Barbie' press tour in 2023. This is the second time Lohan has paid homage to her 'Freaky Friday' character through her fashion choices. Last month, she was photographed in a leather miniskirt and a tee emblazoned with the words 'Pink Slip' — the name of her band in the film. From the recent 'Beetlejuice' reboot to the release of 'Jurassic World Rebirth,' the seventh film in its franchise, millennial nostalgia is driving a number of cultural moments in the film industry — and beyond. 'Freaky Friday' is one such example of a cinematic relic that has stood the test of time. At the premiere, Curtis told the BBC she was inspired to take part in the sequel because the film was 'beloved, all over the world.' Lohan agreed. 'The fans love the movie. And that's really important,' she said. 'It makes you want to do it again.' But perhaps no fan was as excited as Sernin himself. 'I feel overwhelmed with joy and love right now,' he wrote. 'It's a full-circle moment for me.'

Winners, Losers, and Lots of Premium Seats: Europe's Airline Scorecard
Premium cabins still drive profits, but it's the low-cost threat that keeps Europe's legacy carriers up at night. Europe's three big legacy airline groups – Lufthansa, IAG, and Air France-KLM – all reported earnings over the past two days, offering a revealing snapshot of the continent's aviation story. While demand for travel remains strong, the results show different stages of turnaround and profitability across the region's major flag carriers. For the Lufthansa Group, recent years have been defined by labor strikes, operational stumbles, aircraft delivery delays, and stiff new aviation taxes. Last year, the group eked out a 4% operating margin largely thanks to its cargo and maintenance arms – while its flagship Lufthansa airline actually lost money. The second quarter suggests Lufthansa's long-promised turnaround is finally taking shape. It posted a group-wide 8% operating margin, up nearly two points year on year. Lufthansa mainline managed 5%, while Swiss soared to 13%, Austrian quietly hit nearly 10%, and even leisure carrier Eurowings turned
