Sara Gilbert claims ‘Big Bang Theory' writers ‘hit a wall' with her character: ‘I would have done more at that time'
It ended not with a bang but with a whimper.
Sara Gilbert, who played Dr. Leslie Winkle on 'The Big Bang Theory,' still has questions about her character's ending.
During an appearance on The Official Big Bang Theory Podcast, host Jessica Radloff asked if Gilbert would have done more episodes, or if she'd be open to starring in the show's new spinoff.

'Yeah I would do more. I would have done more at the time,' Gilbert replied.
'I think the writers kind of hit a wall with the character, probably also because she leaves these dynamics quickly, you know, then kind of like, well, what do you do now? She's wired like that, and she left, and then there's no more story there, really.'
She added, 'But yeah it was a blast, and I like to work, so I'm always happy to show up.'

Leslie was an experimental physicist who worked in the same lab as Leonard (Johnny Galecki). The two had a 'friends with benefits' relationship.

She appeared in Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 9.
The show ran for twelve seasons, from 2007 to 2019. It spawned two spinoffs: 'Young Sheldon,' which aired for seven seasons from 2017 to 2024, and 'Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage,' which premiered in October and has been renewed for a second season.
Gilbert's last appearance on the show was in the landmark 200th episode, called 'The Celebration Experimentation,' where she came to Sheldon (Jim Parson's) birthday party and called him a 'dumbass.'

In Radloff's book 'The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series,' executive producer Steve Molaro said about Leslie, 'We wanted love interests for Leonard and were just looking for stories. It was also a great way to add female scientists, because Leslie was at the university as well.'
Series creator Chuck Lorre already had a history with Gilbert from 'Roseanne.' Galecki also played Gilbert's love interest on that show, and the actors briefly dated in real life.
'But we were never looking for a permanent, everlasting relationship for Leonard because we always thought he would date Penny [Kaley Cuoco] on and off,' he explained. 'We weren't looking to find a permanent girlfriend for him. We were adding characters and seeing what worked and what was leading to fun stories.'

There's reportedly a fourth 'Big Bang Theory' spinoff show in the works for Max.

According to Deadline, it will be called 'Stuart Fails to Save the Universe' and will center around the character Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman).

These Broadway portraits were stolen from Sardi's restaurant
It's not easy being green. Of the nearly 1,000 celebrity caricatures on the walls of iconic theater-district institution Sardi's, the one pilfered the most, oddly, is Kermit the Frog. 'Kermit was stolen three times. And then we screwed him up to the wall,' Johnny Felidi, longtime maître d' at the 100-year-old eatery, told The Post ahead of Sunday's Tony Awards. Advertisement Another celebrity who had to be screwed at the beloved West 44th Street eatery: Barbra Streisand. After her original 1963 portrait was purloined, it took the 'Funny Girl' 55 years to agree to another caricature. 8 Kermit the Frog, who filmed a scene at Sardi's for 'The Muppets Take Manhattan,' had his caricature stolen three times. 'Julie Andrews was another one that went missing for a long time and then it was allegedly found at an auction,' added receptionist Lydia DeLuca, who spent last summer updating the binder that lists every celeb's name and their location on three floors of the four-story restaurant. 8 Barbra Streisand also had her caricature taken off the wall, so she wrote 'Don't steal this one!' on her second portrait. Rice Due to all the star-snatching, the priceless portraits adorning the walls of Sardi's — where the idea for the Tonys was conceived over lunch — are now duplicates of the originals, which are stored in a safe. It wasn't until 1986, after the death of James Cagney, that founder Vincent Sardi decided to start using dupes. 'When Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith got divorced, we separated them. We have Richard Burton up there, we have Liz Taylor down here so they don't fight.' When Tony Danza starred in 'Chicago,' he got his portrait done — but only agreed to it under one condition. 'He said, 'Please put me next to Sammy Davis Jr. And never take me away.'' Of course, Luna is going to continue to be a threat, especially now that she's teaming up with someone from her past. Here's the look-ahead preview of what's coming up this week: It's not surprising to learn that Liam (Scott Clifton) is more concerned about Steffy's safety than his own, as we see him taking pills that could signal he's doing the treatment that could prolong his life. Luna, in the meantime, tells her mother that she's "going to make the most" of her freedom and no one, not even Poppy (Romy Park) can stop her. Naturally, this leads Poppy to turn to Li (Naomi Matsuda) and Finn, telling them that she's afraid Luna "is becoming unhinged" and that's the understatement of the year. Not only is Luna "unhinged," she also has a gun. We see her at a gun range practicing her technique when an old friend pops in. It's Remy (Christian Weissman), who is also there for some target practice despite being a criminal and probably not legally being able to shoot a firearm like Luna, but hey, who's counting. Needless to say, things are about to get crazy as Luna's quest to eliminate Steffy heats up. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS and the following day on Paramount Plus.
