Sophie Turner is Ripped for Her Tomb Raider Prep
Sophie Turner may be best known for the role of Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones , and after her run as Jean Grey for X-Men , it looks like she's ready to jump into another franchise with Tomb Raider .
Though we don't have an official look at the show yet, Turner has revealed just how jacked she's getting in her preparation for the role of Lara Croft. Check her out:

There have admittedly been rumors that the Tomb Raider series had been cancelled ever since it was announced back in November, but things look to be moving forward as Amazon had just renewed their deal with the producers over at Story Kitchen.
It's also worth noting that the series is created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is best known for her work in Fleabag .
Admittedly, the Tomb Raider franchise has been having a hard time trying to stay relevant in live-action. The Angelina Jolie films just fizzled out, and nothing came out of the Alicia Vikander reboot. There was an animated series that came out on Netflix last year, but it didn't manage to get the hype it was hoping for.
With successful adaptations like Fallout and The Last of Us , maybe Tomb Raider has a better chance at being a series. Though I wouldn't expect as much spectacle with a TV-format, I do think that Waller-Bridge is a great writer, and we can have an interesting characterization of Lara Croft besides the action hero we've all come to know.
No release date has been set for the Tomb Raider series on Amazon.

The Legend of Zelda Movie Allegedly Eyeing Hunter Schaferor as Princess Zelda
It's been pitched before, but it looks like the studios could be taking it seriously this time. According to a rumor from @DanielRPK (via @screentime), Euphoria star Hunter Schafer is being eyed to play the role of Princess Zelda in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda movie directed by Wes Ball. So far, not other cast members have been rumored, but Schafer has been fancast for a while, seeing that she does fit the look of Princess Zelda very well, and it would be a huge move to have a central character in a major franchise played by a trans woman. Admittedly, Schafer has been public about not getting boxed into trans roles, and getting cast as Zelda may be the perfect part for her. We know she already looks the part, but we've yet to really watch her play someone like Zelda who is expected to exude poise and grace—then again, that depends on which kind of Zelda they're adapting. As expected, there are already a lot of transphobic comments coming out about Schafer landing the part, and hopefully Sony and Nintendo will be ready to protect Schafer should they move forward with the casting. As someone whose been a big fan of Schafer since Euphoria , I'm really up for the casting; and I hope she manages to land this role as well as the part of the next Mystique when Marvel Studios is ready to reboot X-Men . The Legend of Zelda movie is expected to hit theaters on March 26, 2027.

Why the New Harry Potter Trio will have it Worse Than the Original
They're finally here. After months of anticipation, WB has officially revealed that the new trio of the Potter reboot which includes Dominic McLaughlin (Harry), Alastair Stout (Ron), and Arabella Stanton (Hermione). The main trio has been cast for the 'HARRY POTTER' TV series: • Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter• Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger • Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley — DiscussingFilm (@DiscussingFilm) May 27, 2025 Though a lot of people are excited that the series is going to start moving forward, there are some on the internet who are familiar with online fandom spaces and have nothing but worry for these three new faces—especially Arabella Stanton who is clearly not caucasian. Already reactions have started to get toxic, and some fans are already bracing themselves for the kind of vitriol that these children are going to be up against online. i'm not interested in this reboot, but i pray for the safety and protection of these kids. their lives are about to become very messy very fast, and i wish them the best of luck in the face of discrimination, adversity, and parasocial fanaticism from harry potter adults — *leslie (@LE5B0B0MB) May 27, 2025 Even with the original trio of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, the actors have been open about how hard it was to become celebrities at such young ages, and at one point Watson even wanted to quit around the time of the third movie. With McLaughlin, Stout, and Stanton, they now have the internet to worry about, plus the toxic fans that seem to make meals out of hating every single change that comes with new adaptations. I mean, the movies were already being harshly compared to the books, but now the series has a bigger audience to satisfy thanks to the films. With studios recently making moves to protect some of their actors online, I hope that WB already has systems in place to protect the new trio from any online vitriol. That being said, there are still ways for toxic fandoms to get to actors. The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey had to quit social media after relentless bullying from everyone who didn't think that she looked like Ellie from the game, and TLOU threads are just littered with very horrible edits of her. There are some that suggest that the series follow The Crown 's format and just recast the main trio every few years, but as it stands, WB is making a huge gamble with this reboot, and these kids are going to have some huge shoes to fill. In the meantime, Harry Potter is aiming to release sometime in 2027, and with the main trio cast, production can be underway very soon. Watch out for the Potter reboot on HBO Max.

X-Men: Bryan Cranston Allegedly Eyed to be the New Charles Xavier
Rumors were flying around that Marvel may have wanted a POC to play the part of the new Charlie Xavier for the MCU, but it's possible they could be sticking to keeping him Caucasian. According to @MyTimeToShineH, Marvel is allegedly looking at Bryan Cranston ( Breaking Bad ) to be the new leader of the X-Men. We already know he can play the bald look, but it's curious exactly what kind of Xavier he can deliver, seeing that he can either be ridiculously evil or all-around goofy. Admittedly, we have to take this news with a grain of salt, seeing that MTTSH has had missteps in the past, but they've also reported some true things as well. Personally, I was in the camp that wanted to revamp the origins of Professor X and Magneto so that they better exemplified more recent issues on discrimination. A popular fancast was for Giancarlo Esposito (surprisingly also in Breaking Bad ) to be Xavier and Denzel Washington to be the new Magneto—with Magneto's origin of being a holocaust survivor being switched to him surviving another kind of race war. There are some who think that changing Magneto's origin is a delicate matter, but there are some who believe that, to stay relevant, his origin could be changed so that the core issue is still discrimination—which was also at the heart of his holocaust survivor story. I mean, if they wanted Magneto to be alive around that time, he would have to be incredibly old in the 2020s; and you can only go so far with the 'his powers stop his aging' or 'he's a time-traveller' storyline. Then again, I am just spit-balling here. For now, we have no idea when the proper X-Men reboot is going to be, but fans are expecting it after the events of Avengers: Secret Wars which comes out in 2027.
