It won't be surprising for fans to see Janhvi Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan together in a film. Janhvi, daughter of late actor Sridevi and producer Boney kapoor, is one of the most promising actors of her generation, while Shah Rukh remains one of the reigning stars of the Hindi film industry. But there was a time when little Janhvi welcomed Shah Rukh Khan onstage after he won an award for his film Devdas.
An old video from an award show is going viral on X (formerly Twitter), which shows a young Janhvi accompanying her father Boney Kapoor on stage, along with Preity Zinta. Boney and Preity were on stage to hand over an award, and Shah Rukh won it for Devdas. Despite the presence of the industry's two biggest names, all eyes were on little Janhvi, who looked adorable in a black dress. She had her hair tied in a braid and kept holding her father Boney Kapoor's hand. After reaching the stage, Boney asked her to say 'good evening.' He then picked Janhvi up in his arms so that she could also announce the winner's name with them, and together they shouted, 'Shah Rukh Khan.'
'I feel a great sense of achievement in having played a role that Dilip Saab did. I'm nowhere in the same league. My #Devdas is just a tribute to his performance' #ShahRukhKhan👏🏻 #DilipKumar
Is that lil Jahnvi? She's adorable. And so is Gauri, beaming with pride for Shah Rukh😊 pic.twitter.com/p7NnATlX8T

After coming on stage, Shah Rukh first planted a peck on Janhvi's cheek and then went on to receive the award. Janhvi remained unaffected by the cameras and kept looking here and there. After Boney handed the award to Shah Rukh, they all posed for a picture. The actor gave a speech about filling Dilip Kumar's shoes in Devdas. Dilip Kumar had originally played the iconic character of Devdas in the 1955 film. Shah Rukh later starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas, which released in 2002.
In an earlier interaction with NDTV, Janhvi was asked if she would like to star opposite Shah Rukh, Aamir, or Salman. Though she expressed excitement at the thought, she also expressed some reservation. She said, 'They are the biggest stars and everybody wants to work with them but thoda odd hoga agar main unke opposite kaam karungi toh (it would be a little odd if I star opposite them) but I will love to work with them.'
On the work front, Janhvi will next be seen in Karan Johar's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Dinesh Vijan's Param Sundari. Shah Rukh, on the other hand, is gearing up for The King, which is helmed by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand.

Karisma Kapoor had 'endless cars, palatial house' but was not happy in her marriage to Sunjay Kapur, claims '90s director

Veteran filmmaker Suneel Darshan , known for directing several notable Hindi films in the 1990s and early 2000s, recently reflected on the life and troubled marriage of actress Karisma Kapoor and businessman Sunjay Kapur . Having shared a close personal and professional relationship with Karisma and the larger Kapoor family, Darshan offered his perspective on the complexities that defined her marital journey . His observations came in the wake of Sunjay Kapur's untimely death in June 2025 due to a cardiac arrest, reportedly caused by an allergic reaction after accidentally swallowing a bee during a polo match in the United Kingdom. Karisma Kapoor, a celebrated actress and granddaughter of cinema legend Raj Kapoor, was married to Sunjay Kapur from 2003 until their legal separation in 2016. The couple share two children—daughter Samaira and son Kiaan. Following Sunjay's tragic passing, Karisma attended the funeral held in New Delhi, accompanied by her sister, actress Kareena Kapoor, and Kareena's husband, Saif Ali Khan. According to him, her marriage represented a phase filled with disappointment and abrupt decisions. He revealed having deep insights into their relationship, largely because Karisma had been close friends with Sunjay's sister since their childhood. This longstanding bond offered Darshan a window into the events that unfolded behind the scenes. He claimed there was a "rift" between the two right from the first day. He noted that Karisma's transition from a Bollywood star to a homemaker was intentional and sincere. She had envisioned a peaceful, grounded life centered around family responsibilities, far from the glamorous world she came from. According to Darshan, Karisma didn't aspire to join in the high-society lifestyle commonly associated with Delhi's elite. Instead, she longed for simplicity and domestic contentment. However, Darshan suggested that Karisma's identity clashed with the expectations of the environment she married into. He hinted that Sunjay's family may have viewed her more as a trophy wife than an individual. He speculated that her inability to assimilate into Delhi's social circles may have played a significant role in the marriage's eventual breakdown. Despite her fame and lineage, Darshan emphasized that Karisma remained unassuming and down-to-earth. 'She was placed into a world that was not hers. Delhi has its own culture, and she wasn't fitting into it. She was in this palatial house with endless cars, but it just wasn't her world," he said. After her separation from Sunjay, he went on to marry Priya Sachdev. Together, they had a child and often spoke publicly about raising a blended family. Priya acknowledged that Sunjay's first marriage had been far from conventional but stated that their current family dynamic embraced all the children with love and acceptance. Suneel Darshan, who worked with Karisma in successful films like Jaanwar and Ajay, concluded his remarks by underscoring how deeply unfortunate it was that someone as kind-hearted as Karisma had to go through such emotional turmoil.

Ed Sheeran will sing Punjabi songs now? Arijit Singh might just have made it possible

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed a deeply personal and transformative experience during his visit to India, where he spent time with acclaimed Indian musician Arijit Singh. The two collaborated on a new version of Sheeran's track Sapphire, and the visit not only resulted in a musical fusion but also saw Sheeran stepping out of his comfort zone—singing in Punjabi and learning to play the sitar. Ed's 24-Hour Trip to Arijit's Hometown In what Sheeran described as a 'pilgrimage of music,' the global star travelled to Jiaganj Azimganj in West Bengal, the hometown of Arijit Singh. Accompanied by his father, Sheeran made the journey as part of the final creative steps for the song Sapphire. After a five-and-a-half-hour drive post-landing, the duo explored the local sights by boat, shared coffee and conversations, and later headed into the studio. Arijit Singh sings a verse in a mix of Hindi and Punjabi, while Ed Sheeran takes on the chorus, blending English with Indian languages. The track, produced by Ilya Salmanzadeh, Johnny McDaid, and Savan Kotecha, is a clear representation of a cross-cultural musical fusion. The official video for Sapphire captures Ed's travels across India, including beaches, local kitchens, bustling markets, and even Bollywood sets. It features cameos from both Arijit Singh and Shah Rukh Khan and includes a stop at the AR Rahman music school, where Ed performed with local musicians. A Tribute to Arijit Singh's Talent Ed Sheeran did not hold back his admiration for Arijit Singh. He mentioned that he listens to this version of Sapphire every morning with his daughters, appreciating Arijit's voice, tone, and musicality. He thanked the Indian singer for his generosity and artistry, calling their collaboration the beginning of 'something bigger.' This cross-cultural collaboration is part of the build-up to Ed Sheeran's upcoming album Play, slated for release on September 12, 2025.
