Former NACAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick isn't afraid to share his unfiltered thoughts about the sport, that's for sure.
There's been plenty of drama this season in the Cup Series. Back in June, there was a lot of drama surrounding Carson Hocevar and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. due to their collision at the Cracker Barrel 400 in Nashville. Things got so ugly that people accused Hocevar of being a reckless driver.
We also can't forget that Joey Logano and Ross Chastain exchanged words after the Chicago street race earlier this month.
During this Tuesday's episode of the "Kevin Harvick's Happy Hour" podcast, Harvick addressed all the drama surrounding the Cup Series.
Harvick made it clear that he wants drivers to stop talking trash and start retaliating when they feel cheated on the track.
"I don't know about the fights, but if you're going to call somebody out on the radio and you're going to talk a bunch of [expletive], at least go do something, or immediately just hammer them," Harvick said, via On3. "Just all the [expletive] talking that happens on the radio, and then nothing happening on the racetrack. There's just no better message that you can send than just wiping somebody out in retaliation. Then they know you'll do it, right? When they know that you'll do it, they're not going to wipe you out. Because they don't want to deal (with that).
"That's one reason why, back when I drove, you just — every once in a while, you just had to wipe somebody out. You had to just send a message. You had a bunch of chaos — do you want to deal with the chaos, and do you want to get wiped out? Fine, let's do it. But I don't know that anybody is going to do that."
Harvick obviously doesn't want NASCAR's product to become an utter mess each week, but the sport could benefit from some fireworks.
The Cup Series will resume on July 20 at Dover International Speedway.Kevin Harvick Has 1 Issue With Current NASCAR Drivers first appeared on The Spun on Jul 16, 2025

Connor Zilisch goes for fourth straight NASCAR Xfinity Series victory

It would be difficult to imagine a performance more dominant than the one JR Motorsports driver Connor Zilisch has fashioned over the last nine races since returning from a back injury he sustained at Talladega. In that span, Zilisch won four races, including the last three in a row. He also finished second three times, along with two more top-five finishes, to post an average finish of 2.1 since Charlotte. RELATED: | With his win last Saturday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, he notched the 100th victory for JR Motorsports. At 19 years, 4 days, he's now the youngest driver to win three straight races in Xfinity Series history and to reach six career victories in the series, dethroning Joey Logano. All six of Zilisch's Xfinity wins have come in his series debuts at the respective tracks, a streak he'll attempt to maintain in Saturday's HyVee Perks 250 at Iowa Speedway (4:30 p.m. ET, The CW, MRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). Only two drivers in series history have won four straight races: Sam Ard in 1983 and Noah Gragson in 2022. Though Zilisch has never raced an Xfinity Series car at Iowa Speedway, two facts argue in his favor: he won last year's ARCA Menards Series race at the 0.875-mile short track, and Sam Mayer won last year's race with Zilisch's current crew chief, Mardy Lindley, calling the shots from Mayer's pit box. 'I was fortunate enough to win the ARCA race at Iowa last year, so I'm looking forward to using what I learned in that race with a new challenge in the Xfinity car,' Zilisch said. 'My crew chief, Mardy Lindley, won the race there with Sam Mayer last year, so I know we'll have a really good KOA Chevrolet when we get to the track this weekend. 'We've been on a roll lately with top-five finishes and trips to Victory Lane, so I'm ready to get to the track and continue that.' The HyVee Perks 250 is the third of five short-track races on the Xfinity Series schedule this year, but neither of the winners of the first two such races will compete on Saturday. NASCAR suspended Martinsville winner Austin Hill for one race for intentionally wrecking Aric Almirola last Saturday at Indianapolis, and Bristol winner Kyle Larson is not doing double duty this weekend. Full-time Cup Series driver Austin Dillon will take Hill's place in the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet at Iowa. With five races left in the Xfinity Series regular season, there are five berths left in the playoffs. Cousins Jeb Burton and Harrison Burton are on opposite sides of the eligibility bubble, with Jeb Burton holding a 10-point edge for the final spot in the playoffs.

Danica Patrick Takes Clear Side In The Sydney Sweeney 'Controversy'

Danica Patrick Takes Clear Side In The Sydney Sweeney 'Controversy' originally appeared on The Spun. Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick has finally chimed in on the debate regarding American Eagle's new ad with Sydney Sweeney. Last week, American Eagle launched its new campaign with the tagline "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans." There's a commercial of her wearing an all-denim outfit while talking about her genes. "Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color," Sweeney says in the American Eagle commercial. "My jeans are blue." Shortly after this ad was released, countless social media users accused Sweeney and American Eagle of promoting "white supremacy" and "Nazi propaganda."Earlier this week, ESPN contributor David Dennis Jr. said he was "mortified" by the messaging in this campaign involving the "Euphoria" actress. "I didn't think anything of the Sydney Sweeney ads," Dennis wrote on Bluesky. "But then ACTUAL SCHOLARS ON MESSAGING, EUGENICS AND FASCISM explained what was going on then yes I understood and became pretty mortified because hey sometimes IT'S GOOD TO LISTEN TO EXPERTS." American Eagle's work with Sweeney became such a huge topic that Sen. Ted Cruz shared his thoughts on it. "Wow," Cruz wrote on X. "Now the crazy Left has come out against beautiful women. I'm sure that will poll well." Cruz isn't the only high-profile person coming to Sweeney's defense. On Wednesday night, she received some support from the only woman to win an IndyCar race. Danica Patrick shared a video of someone mocking the outrage over American Eagle commercials along with this message: "Hilarious. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with the new AE ads?! Very confused." Patrick has never been afraid to voice her opinion on social media, that's for sure. Leading up to the 2024 presidential debate, she made it clear that she wanted Donald Trump to win. "The work is not done until we can wear or fly an American flag, say we want to make America great again, and say I LOVE THIS COUNTRY….. and have that make us American, not Republican," Patrick said after Trump won the election. Most of Patrick's followers probably agree with her stance on the American Eagle controversy. However, the debate over whether or not Sweeney crossed the line is far from Patrick Takes Clear Side In The Sydney Sweeney 'Controversy' first appeared on The Spun on Jul 31, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 31, 2025, where it first appeared. Mexico City Officially off NASCAR's 2026 Schedule, but Replacement Rumor Emerges

A new report claims NASCAR won't return to Mexico City in 2026. However, a replacement location is already under serious consideration. 'NASCAR's premier Cup Series will not return to Mexico City next year,' according to sources that spoke with Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic. Last month, the top racing league in the United States headed south of the border for its first international points event since 1958. Despite mixed reviews for the event from drivers, teams, and fans, NASCAR was still very interested in returning to Mexico's capital next year. However, the 2026 World Cup has forced the city off the schedule for 2026. Five matches in the FIFA Men's World Cup soccer tournament are scheduled from June 11 to July 5 in Mexico City. The racing insider claims the two sides looked at potentially doing a race in the spring, closer to Easter. And even contemplated the idea of a NASCAR-IndyCar doubleheader that weekend. However, the league and city officials could not agree on dates. NASCAR finalizing Chicagoland return in 2026? So what will NASCAR do to fill that race on next year's schedule? 'Needing a replacement for Mexico City on its 38-race schedule (36 points races plus two exhibitions), NASCAR is now solidifying plans to return to Chicagoland,' Bianchi wrote. 'The 1.5-mile oval in Joliet, Ill., about 50 miles from downtown Chicago, is owned by NASCAR.' There have been rumors for quite some time about the circuit returning to Chicagoland. The track was a stop on the NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Trucks series for close to two decades from 2001 to 2019. At the start of the 2020s, the league pivoted away from Chicagoland. And to races in Northern Wisconsin and then street races in Chicago and Grant Park. NASCAR announced that despite three lucrative races in Illinois over the last three years, it won't return in 2026. However, they could be back in two years.
