Demi Lovato Is Working on "Celebratory" New Dance Album

Yara Sameh
Fans of Demi Lovato's pop music can come out of mourning who is returning with new album.
According to
Rolling Stone
published Monday, Lovato is set to resurrect her mainstream influences on a dance-heavy new album, despite committing to a punk-rock pivot over the past few years.
Though many details of the LP are still under wraps, the publication confirmed that the singer has been hard at work on a 'celebratory dance-pop album' with executive producer Zhone, who says that the former Disney star is a 'master in the studio.' 'It's been so inspiring working with Demi and experiencing her journey of continued leveling up,' he told Rolling Stone.
'This album is about letting inhibitions go, and we had so much fun making this music!' Zhone added. 'It really comes across throughout.'
Led by an EDM-tinged single titled 'Fast' — which Lovato has been teasing via video snippets on social media — the upcoming full-length is expected to mark a return to the form of the Camp Rock alum's past pop-focused hits (think: 2015's 'Cool for the Summer' or 2017's 'Sorry Not Sorry'). It'll follow 2022's distinctly punk-rock effort "Holy Fvck".
Shortly before releasing "Holy Fvck," Lovato commemorated the end of a pop-music era by posing solemnly in a photo with members of their team — including then-manager Scooter Braun — dressed all in black. 'A funeral for my pop music,' Lovato wrote at the time on Instagram.
The star later doubled down on her pivot to rock music by releasing "Revamped," an album of past Lovato pop hits reimagined in the edgier genre.
With the new album approaching, however, Lovato recently shared a video on TikTok poking fun at their past departure from the mainstream, writing, 'my pop music coming back to life after we held a funeral for it.'
One major change in Lovato's personal life that has informed her musical homecoming is the vocalist's marriage to producer Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes,' according to RS. The pair tied the knot this past May.
'Over the past few years, Demi has found love, joy, and newfound confidence, making the choice to approach life with much more lightness and fun,' one unnamed source reportedly told the publication. 'She took this sentiment into the studio, which can be felt in every track on this celebratory dance-pop album.'
Though Lovato always had an edgier sound than many of their fellow Disney Channel-bred pop stars, the performer shone in the pop-music landscape before transitioning away to rock. From 2008's debut LP "Don't Forget" to 2021's Dancing With the Devil, all seven of Lovato's studio albums leading up to Holy Fvck charted in the top 5 of the Billboard 200.
Lovato has also scored a number of Hot 100 hits over the course of her pop career, including top 10 entries 'Heart Attack' and 'Skyscraper.'

James Cameron Affirms Commitment to Directing Avatar 4 & 5 as He Turns 71 Years Old: "I'm Good to Go" and "There's No Reason Not" to Do It

Yara Sameh James Cameron affirmed in a new interview with Empire magazine that he's 'good to go' when it comes to directing 'Avatar 4″ and 'Avatar 5.' The third 'Avatar' movie, officially titled 'Avatar: Fire and Ash,' opens in theaters later this year. Cameron originally cast doubt on his 'Avatar' directing future, telling Empire in 2022 that helming the franchise is 'all-consuming' and he might want to 'pass the baton' to another director starting with 'Avatar 4.' But that's no longer the case with the Oscar winner. 'I mean, there's no reason not to,' Cameron said ahead of his 71st birthday in August about directing more 'Avatar' sequels himself. 'I'm healthy, I'm good to go. I'm not going to rule it out. I mean, I've got to make it in a vigorous way, to handle the kind of volume and energy of the work for another six or seven years. You know what I mean? I might not be able to do that… [but] if I can, I'll just do it.' Cameron noted that he already has a history of passing off his planned directorial efforts to other filmmakers, most notably giving 'Alita: Battle Angel' to Robert Rodriguez. The filmmaker was still closely involved with the film's production, he just wasn't physically in the director's chair. 'He honored what I had written. We worked very collaboratively,' Cameron said about Rodriguez. But Cameron's plan for now is to direct 'Avatar 4' and 'Avatar 5' himself, even with other non-'Avatar' projects taking shape. The filmmaker is attached to adaptations of the books 'Ghost of Hiroshima' and 'The Devils,' which could also impact his ability to direct more 'Avatar' sequels. Two movies Cameron doesn't plan on helming are 'Avatar 6' and 'Avatar 7,' although he told People magazine that he's cracked ideas for both. 'We're fully written through movie five, and I've got ideas for six and seven, although I'll probably be handing the baton on at that point,' Cameron said. 'Mortality catches up. But I mean, we're enjoying what we're doing. We're loving it. We get to work with great people.' For fans unhappy that Cameron's career is dominated by the 'Avatar' franchise, the director had this response at the time: 'People are always asking us, 'So why did you just keep working in the same…' Why did [George] Lucas keep working in the same thing? Why did [Gene] Roddenberry keep working in the same thing? Because when you connect with people, why would you squander that? Why would you start over with something else that might not connect?'. 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' was originally going to arrive in 2024, but Disney delayed it to December 19, 2025. 'Avatar 4' is on track for December 21, 2029, followed by 'Avatar 5' on December 19, 2031. Based on this timeline, the alleged final 'Avatar' movie will premiere 22 years after the original 2009 blockbuster. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Jeremy Renner Addresses MCU Return, "Hawkeye" Season 2

Yara Sameh Jeremy Renner is ready to return to the MCU. In a recent interview with Empire , Renner said he's ready to reprise his role of the bow-wielding Avenger, Hawkeye. He added that he's open to whatever Marvel has planned, whether that be a second season of the 'Hawkeye' Disney+ series or an MCU blockbuster. 'I'm always happy to be in that world, man. I love all those guys, I love the character,' Renner said. 'I'm sure we'll end up doing Season 2 [of 'Hawkeye'], and do other things. And I'm happy to do it. My body's getting ready for something like that. I don't know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.' He added that he's recovered 'more than 150%' from his near-fatal snowplow accident in 2023, and is ready for the stunt work required for a Marvel vehicle. 'Having health and wellness be such a central part of my life, that's what's gotten me back,' Renner explained. 'And even as I age, I just feel stronger than I've been. I have some issues, and tendon issues and certain limitations of flexibility and mobility, but I spent a lot of time on getting better and stronger, and I wouldn't if I didn't get crushed.' This isn't the first time Renner spoke out about his potential MCU comeback. In May, 'The Hurt Locker' star said Marvel asked him to come back for 'Hawkeye' Season 2, but offered him 'half' of his salary from the first season. Renner speculated that his incident, which left him with eight ribs broken in 14 places, a broken right knee and ankle, a broken left leg tibia and ankle and a broken right clavicle and shoulder, had something to do with the reduced offer. He said at the time, 'I'm like, 'I'm sorry? Why? Did you think I'm only half the Jeremy because I got ran over? Maybe that's why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season.'' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Marvel's Future Plans: "Black Panther 3" and a New "X-Men" Cast to ‘Keep the Cost Down'; "Blade" and "Deadpool 4" Are Less Priorities

Yara Sameh Could have been worse, but could have been better — that's the collective takeaway on Marvel Studios' latest venture, 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps,' that has pulled in $218 million globally following its July 25 bow. But as with 'Superman' two weeks prior, the superhero movie's overseas haul — $100 million, including an anemic $4.5 million from China — offers a stark reminder of how much things have changed since pre-coronavirus days and where the tripwires lie for the Disney-owned studio, which has ambitious plans for two 'Avengers' movies in 2026 and 2027, followed by an 'X-Men' reboot further out on the horizon. By contrast, 'Avengers: Endgame' nabbed $614 million from the Middle Kingdom alone in 2019. 'There's a reset of what a hit is, and I don't see them consistently hitting $1 billion as before — without China, with Disney+ exposure, post-COVID, without megastars,' says one top agent who represents several clients in the Marvel universe. 'China used Marvel, Disney and the U.S. film industry to seed their own.' Adds an insider of the lost China windfall: 'We are never going to have those days again.' That reality has changed the calculus at Marvel, led by Kevin Feige, when it comes to making a movie like 'X-Men.' 'Thunderbolts' helmer Jake Schreier is set to direct the tentpole, with the studio fine-tuning Michael Lesslie's script. Casting will begin soon, and the field is wide open. But Marvel is looking for younger talent, rather than A-listers, to 'keep the cost down,' says another agent. Feige also indicated he is looking to focus on the next-gen aspects of 'X-Men' during a recent conversation with the press. Marvel is holding July 23, 2027, on the release calendar for an unnamed film, but sources say it won't be filled by 'X-Men.' While Matt Shakman's 'Fantastic Four' features a bona fide TV star in Pedro Pascal, who has made his mark on the small screen in everything from 'The Mandalorian' to 'The Last of Us,' he hasn't yet scaled the same big-screen heights as the 'Endgame' ensemble. And that helped keep the 'Fantastic Four' budget manageable. Disney hasn't given a precise figure on the film's budget, only pegging it at somewhere north of $200 million. 'Avengers: Doomsday' will feature at least one mega-payday for Robert Downey Jr., who is returning to the Marvel fold as villain Doctor Doom. Sources say Downey Jr. has earned between $500 million and $600 million throughout seven Marvel movies and three cameos and won't be working at a discount on 'Doomsday'; neither will Chris Hemsworth, who's returning as Thor. As for who will be the star of the film, sources say Pascal is not the centerpiece, but does have an integral role. Regardless, the tentpole is on schedule to open December 18, 2026. Wall Street is keeping close tabs on Marvel as elements of its expanded portfolio fall into place, including the integration of 20th Century Fox assets like 'Fantastic Four,' 'X-Men' and last year's runaway hit 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' which earned $1.34 billion worldwide. 'Marvel is a critical piece to Disney's overall premium IP. And the stronger Marvel is, the better it is for the overall company,' says Wall Street analyst Robert Fishman at MoffettNathanson. 'The recent studio momentum has allowed Disney to help drive subscriber growth at Disney+ and see the overall Disney flywheel start to accelerate again.' There won't be much to analyze for the next year. The next Marvel movie to hit theaters is 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' on July 31, followed by 'Doomsday' in December and 'Avengers: Secret Wars' in December 2027. Amid an industrywide pullback on superheroes, the Marvel brain trust is feeling no sense of urgency on the long-gestating 'Blade' reboot or even a new 'Deadpool' outing, sources say. However, ideas are percolating on a Ryan Coogler-helmed 'Black Panther 3,' creating excitement internally. Ultimately, Marvel is thrilled that it has brought 'Fantastic Four' — a tricky property that proved vexing in the past — back from the grave: Fans have embraced the effort, giving the film an A- CinemaScore. The two previous incarnations found a tepid response from audiences, with diminishing returns. Tim Story's 2005 version earned $334 million, while the drama-plagued 2015 version took home $168 million amid a public bashing from director Josh Trank, who complained of studio interference from Fox. (Actor Toby Kebbell corroborated Trank's version of events.) This time around, the only minor blip came via a behind-the-scenes battle over screenwriting credits, with the WGA stepping in to make a determination. The union awarded final screenwriting credit to Josh Friedman, Eric Pearson, Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer and Kat Wood. For superhero watchers, good is the new great, as the genre finds its footing after a cold streak that included recent Marvel misfires — 'Thunderbolts' and 'The Marvels' — as well as a batch of duds from DC that predated the James Gunn-Peter Safran regime. Says analyst Shawn Robbins of Box Office Theory: 'I think as an industry we've become very obsessed with opening-weekend results, in particular with both ['Superman' and 'Fantastic Four']. Because word of mouth is so strong for both, I think the story is not fully obvious yet. Yes, 'Fantastic Four' is good enough in terms of it exceeded what Disney expected. So that's a positive. And it's tough to compare it to any other Marvel films because we simply live in a different time now for the superhero releases.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
