EastEnders star Charlie Brooks ‘very happy' flaunting a dress thats 22 years old
Sharing a photo on Instagram, she revealed that this childhood favourite brings back fond memories and still brings her joy. Despite posting a seemingly serious expression, she assured followers that she really is feeling happy.
She captioned the post: 'Bought this dress over 22 years ago, before my kid was born, and I STILL love it. It actually makes me feel very happy. Funny how a piece of clothing can do that. My face doesn't look happy. But I am actually very happy.'
Supporters flooded the comments with praise, admiring how slim she looks and the fact that the dress still fits and that she's supporting sustainable fashion.
One fan wrote, 'I love your sense of style, you're so creative. Like you, I relate to the sentiment. But what I love most of all is that you've kept it, and it's not just another item of clothing that has been disposed of 🌏💚✨ xx', 'Beautiful dress. I would buy that now if it was available 😍' and her daughter Kiki even chimed in with a cheeky comment telling her mum to 'cheer up'.
Charlie Brooks made her EastEnders debut in 1999 as Janine Butcher, the troubled and manipulative daughter of Frank Butcher. She quickly became one of the show's most notorious characters, known for her sharp tongue, scheming ways, and headline-making storylines.
From pushing Barry Evans off a cliff in Scotland to framing others for crimes and blackmailing love interests, Janine was the character fans loved to hate. Brooks's performance won her widespread recognition, including a National Television Award for Best Serial Drama Performance in 2012. More Trending
Despite several departures and returns over the years, Charlie always brought Janine back with fresh depth. Her most recent stint began in 2021 and concluded in late 2022, when Janine fled Walford after being exposed for a web of lies and manipulation, once again proving she's a master of high-stakes drama.
While fans always hope for another comeback, Charlie seems content to take a break from the soap world for now and focus on life's simpler pleasures, while still turning heads on Instagram.
Recently, Charlie opened up about embracing life in a phase without steady employment. After leaving EastEnders in December 2022, she's admitted to enjoying life's simple pleasures such as home time with her dog, long strolls, reading, and catching up with friends. Despite lacking work-related validation, she shared that these moments genuinely make her 'happy.'

Charlie is mum to 20-year-old Kiki, her daughter with ex-partner Tony Truman. Though they parted ways two years after Kiki's birth, they remain very friendly and largely a part of each other's lives as co-parents to Kiki. Kiki, now studying acting at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in New York, is seemingly following in her mother's footsteps.

Dog the Bounty Hunter's stepson bragged about shooting rifle with son before horror death
Dog the Bounty Hunter's stepson Gregory Zecca and his son Anthony were seen enjoying a shooting range years before the accidental shooting fatality at the weekend The stepson of Dog the Bounty Hunter had bragged about shooting guns with his son years before his tragic accidental death. Gregory Zecca, who is passionate about his love of guns, seemingly passed down his feelings to his son Anthony. Sadly, an accident over the weekend saw Zecca's 13-year-old son shot and killed. The tragedy is said to have occurred in their apartment in Florida on Saturday. Now, their love of guns has been made apparent in a number of past social media post. In 2021, footage showed the 38-year-old bounty hunter showing his child, who was nine at the time, how to use a rifle. The images were taken at Franktown Firearms Shooting Center in Franktown, Colorado. In the Instagram post, which has its comments disabled, Zecca said: "Getting some range time in with our buddies @franktownfirearms." Anthony is seen in the posts smiling as he takes aim at the targets. In another image, Zecca and his son both smile for the camera as they wear their protective ear muff and goggles while holding the firearms. Following the tragic fatality, Dog - whose real name is Duane Chapman - and his partner Francie, released a statement to TMZ through a representative. It read: "We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony." Gregory, who is Francie's child from a previous marriage, became part of Dog's life when he married Francie in 2021. The couple found solace in each other following the deaths of their respective spouses. Gregory is also part of Dog's bounty hunting crew, working alongside Dog and his daughter, Lyssa. In 2020, Francie told ET of their connection: "We understood the pain that the other one was feeling, and [in] those tough days and moments, we helped each other stand up. "We could cry with each other and talk about what we were feeling. We were able to walk alongside each other through the pain and heartbreak, and it brought us together in this amazing way." In 2023, Dog also told his followers of his secret son. The revelation came on the fourth anniversary of his late wife Beth's passing. At the time, he introduced his adult son to the world through a social media post. The image showed a well-built man dressed in a blue polo shirt and smart jeans, complete with sunglasses reminiscent of those his father famously wears. Dog explained the tale behind his secret son would be revealed in his memoir titled Nine Lives and Counting. The reality TV star is best known for catching criminals in the US, in particular Hawaii.

‘Danny Dyer running about naked doesn't even touch Mr Bigstuff season 2's chaos'
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Sofas engulfed in flames, a budding dominatrix and a naked cul-de-sac chase-down, and that's just the first episode of Mr Bigstuff season two. The offbeat comedy about two chalk and cheese brothers – the trauma-ridden lad Lee (Danny Dyer) and the by-the-book Glenn – is back after an astounding first run. The storied layers of how this comedy-drama came to be seems almost prophetic – Ryan Sampson moulding a character in the vision of Danny, Danny's tenure on EastEnders coming to an end, the stars aligning. Add Big Boys star Harriet Webb, as the ambitious (if not downtrodden) Kristy, to the mix, and you are onto a surefire winner. So, when the Rivals star scooped up the Bafta for best actor in a comedy, it was a victory in more ways than one – proof of Danny's star quality post-soap opera and a testament that Ryan had created a show that could capture both a devoted fan base and critical acclaim. Not that he had any doubt after seeing the magic Harriet and Danny concocted in the flesh, as he told Metro ahead of Mr Bigstuff season two. 'It's absolutely mad, honestly, and I was sat there at the Baftas and Danny did this lovely shout out, and I was like, 'What is this?' 'The first read through. You hear these two [Danny and Harriet] doing it and putting their own spin on it. And I was like, 'oh, that's quite good. That's quite sexy.' And then you see bits of it as we're shooting it, you're like, 'oh, it really does work'. I'm just so chuffed. I'm really glad,' Ryan said about the Bafta win. Season one of Mr Bigstuff introduced the gruff, drug-fuelled Lee, on the run from a dangerous path and forever living in his dead father's shadow. When he is unexpectedly reunited with the endearingly dweebie Glenn, his brother, their lives are turned upside down, ending in an epic season one cliffhanger – the dad is, in fact, very much not dead. The bar has been set high, with the grimy humour and outrageous scenes in season one and yet season two easily surpasses it with even more mental moments. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video In the first episode, as seen in the trailer, Lee ends up disrobing and chasing some hooligans down the street – a scene that somehow has a more chaotic story behind-the-camera. 'Chaos was when we did the naked chase bit. We had to do it in real life. Danny has to run down this actual suburban street with real people in it, and he's almost completely naked, and it was on Halloween,' Ryan recalled. 'So as he was running down the street, there were little kids literally around the corner. And the producer was like 'you need to go now. You need to do it now. There are small children dressed as Tinkerbell'.' And yet, this only scrapes the surface of the absurdity to come. For Danny, his most chaotic moment on set was the day a bunch of retired stuntmen shot a scene set in a working man's club that soon descends into violence. 'We only had one day to get that. We called on all of the old retired stuntmen that were still alive, and they were so happy to be doing [it]. 'You know the old stuntmen that haven't got all their fingers because they've been around since the 60s and there was no health and safety and stuff. They made me look good. In fact, as Ryan revealed, one of them was Roger Moore's James Bond stuntman. 'Yeah he was like 80 and getting thrown around, bowling over tables and you go 'wow this is an art',' Danny added. Meanwhile, the storylines lean right into the bonkers tone of the show, not least Kristy's journey to dominatrix in a bid to spice up her sex life with Glenn. Harriet shared: 'I was really excited about some of the more playful dominatrix [scenes]. I was very excited for Kirsty, weirdly, to explore that and to have those more outrageous scenes. 'Also some of the more emotional stuff, delving into her relationship with her mum, and that really coming to a head throughout season two, was a really cool thing as an actor to be able to do.' To whet the appetite, Ryan teased an 'impressive' moment from episode five that Harriet executes that is 'amazing to watch'. Meanwhile, Glenn and Lee are thrust into a paternal wild goose chase that takes them to some 'really weird places'. Danny added: 'Obviously, Lee's not dealing with it very well with the trauma of his dad. Lee loves his dad and looks up to him, and it was Glenn who wasn't as fussed. 'The idea of [his dad] lying, Lee [has taken] it badly, so he needs to get his mojo back and then go on a crusade to go and find him that takes some nutty little twists.' Unlike their dad, the vibrant world Ryan has created, revolving around these two brothers who form the most unlikely bond, is showing no signs of disappearing. In fact, Ryan has already teased the multi-season vision he has for the show, provided the audience stays. 'I know sort of where we're going so we've got a few series to get to the actual peak. I want to do a slightly weird thing, which is that I want it to be a comedy which ends up with [more] drama than is normal [in a show like this]. More Trending 'We have really good actors so long as it feels real and we go really slowly, I think we can [do it].' Although in an industry increasingly defined by audience numbers, Danny provides some sage advice for Mr Bigstuff fans if they want to see this larger-than-life plot come to fruition. 'Watch it, download it, gorge on it. The whole series in less than Lord of the Rings so get amongst it and you can get another series out of it,' he declared. Mr Bigstuff season two airs on Thursday, July 24, with all episodes available to watch on Now. Got a story? Ulrika Jonsson, 57, slams trolls for ageist comments over podcast appearance
Ulrika Jonsson took aim at trolls who criticised her appearance following a recent podcast as she also explained why she didn't wear make-up Ulrika Jonsson has slammed trolls who targeted her following a recent podcast appearance. The TV presenter, 57, took aim at the trolls who criticised her appearance recently and called them out for their "nasy comments". It came after the former model appeared on Spencer Matthews' Untapped Podcast, which is also filmed for fans to watch. Ulrika took to Instagram at the weekend to shut down any bad mouthing and had a stern message for those taking aim at her. Ulrika explained in her lengthy post that, while she also had positive comments, some viewers felt the need to call her out on her "over-tanned" and "ageing" appearance. But the star wasn't prepared to let them away with it and explained the reasoning behind her look. After sharing a snap of her blowing a kiss to the camera, she wrote: "I feel I need to address something. I don't get a lot of nasty comments - or if I do, I don't see them or send people love in response. "But a couple of weeks ago I took part in a fab podcast @ to discuss my sobriety with the smart @spencermatthews. I wore no make-up. Partly because I kinda forgot that a project for the ears is nowadays also a feast for the eyes. "But as someone who has had to wear heavy make-up on screen from 5am for years, I'm not a fan." She also confessed to have suffered from eczema as a child, in particularly on her body in the creases of her arms and legs. She also said she had it on her face. Therefore, make-up was "agony" to wear."There were a lot of positive comments about the WORDS I said on the podcast," she continued. "But a considerable amount about my tanned appearance. AND how OLD I look."In a few weeks I will be 58. I will never look like the fresh 21yr old that used to greet you first thing in the morning by the weather board." She also admitted she isn't ashamed to be "a sun worshipper" and knows she is likely to "pay the price" for that. But she also said that her uneven pigmentation also won't be helped by ageing. In a candid confession, Ulrika revealed she uses filters on her pictures on occasion as it's easier than applying makeup. However, she also said she works tirelessly in her garden all year round, which often means she is in the sun. She went on: "I rarely sunbathe any more. Haven't had a sunbed for 6 months - which I do occasionally in winter months. Not ashamed. I have not had a holiday - of any kind - since 2018. That's 7yrs."So, I understand that an over-tanned, imperfect and AGEING face offends you. But try to listen to the words rather than constantly judge women's appearance. You might learn something." And in a defiant sign-off message, she concluded: "And making people feel s*** doesn't make you a hero." While she turned off the comments on the post, Ulrika was met with appreciation from over 20,000 followers hitting the like button. Among them were Saturday Kitchen's Matt Tebbutt and Celebs Go Dating's Anna Williamson. Ulrika had been open on the podcast about how sex has become 'interesting' since she stopped drinking alcohol 13 months ago. She revealed how she felt going sober could impact her sex life, but revealed it has helped. And she revealed how not drinking on dates has changed her outlook: "Not having a drink and going on a date, it's hard - it's really hard because people are not as attractive," she said before adding that after drink "you just become a little bit more available I guess - it is easier."
