Motorcyclist who died following crash with transit van named
The collision unfolded on the A819 near Tullich on Friday and involved a Triumph Tiger motorbike and a Ford Transit Luton van.
The rider of the motorcycle, Julien Marchand, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van was uninjured.
The road was closed for around ten hours for investigations to take place.
Sergeant Kenneth Malaney said: 'Our thoughts remain with Julien's family and friends as they come to terms with their loss.
'Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing and we are asking anyone who have any information to contact police.
'If you can assist our enquires in any way, please contact police on 101, quoting incident 2380 of May 23 2025.'

Creator of Willy Wonka experience in court over sex offender register requirements
The man behind the viral Willy Wonka Experience was back in court for breaching his sex offenders register requirements. Billy Coull, 36, was put on the register for one year after he pleaded guilty last November to hounding a woman. Coull repeatedly sent explicit pictures and messages to her despite being told to stop between March 26 and July 2, 2024. One of the texts stated that Coull, of the city's Knightswood, was a 'wolf' and that she was his 'prey.' Coull's conduct was amid the fallout of the infamous Willy Wonka Experience, which he organised in February 2024. Families forked out £35 a ticket earlier for the event at a warehouse in the city's Whiteinch, which was described as disastrous, ill-prepared and shoddy. The former charity worker was forced to shut the event down amid claims that the event left children in tears. Coull was also sentenced in November to 120 hours of unpaid work and put under supervision for a year. However, it emerged that Coull breached his sex offenders register notification requirements days later, on November 21, 2024. Coull was ordered by the sheriff to notify the police that he was on the register within three days of the requirements being imposed. Coull pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court in February this year for failing to do this. He appeared at court on Tuesday before Sheriff Lesley Dowdalls, who had previously ordered him to be of good behaviour. Neil Stewart, defending, told the sentencing: 'He has been of good behaviour.' Prosecutor Abbas Ali then stated: 'I can advise that the report is clear.' Sheriff Dowdalls admonished Coull of the charge. She said: 'I deferred sentence for you to show that you can remain out of trouble and comply with the order. 'I hear no issues have arisen.' Man, 92, among three 'seriously injured' in crash as driver arrested
A 92-year-old man is among three people left seriously injured following a two-car crash in Aberdeenshire. Police were called to reports of a collision near Cortes on the A952 around 2.20pm on Monday, which involved a black Mercedes C200 and a black Honda Civic. Emergency services attended, and the 34-year-old male driver and 53-year-old female passenger of the Civic were taken to hospital. The passenger's injuries are described as serious, and the driver was later released. The 70-year-old female driver and 92-year-old male passenger of the Mercedes were taken to hospital where they remain with serious injuries. The road was closed for around ten hours and reopened shortly after midnight. A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing. Sergeant Pete Henderson said: 'Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash, and we would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information, to come forward. 'We would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage who was driving in the area around the time of the crash to review it and contact us if it could assist with our investigation.' Man, 36, dead after crash involving ambulance and car
A man has died following a crash involving an ambulance in Moray on Monday. Emergency services were called to the A98 near Buckie at around 6.50am after a collision involving a blue Renault Megane and an ambulance. The driver of the car, a 36-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two male paramedics and the male patient from the ambulance were taken to Dr Gray's Hospital and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Hospital for treatment. None of their injuries are thought to be serious. The road was closed all day to allow investigations to be carried out and remained closed over night to allow work to be completed by Moray Council. The road is expected to be opened fully on Tuesday morning. Sergeant Dave Cooper from the Road Policing Unit, Elgin said: 'Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and we continue to carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash. 'I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or the vehicles prior to the crash and who hasn't already spoken to officers to contact us. 'I would also ask anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.'
