Shedeur Sanders Makes Exciting Announcement on Thursday
One of the most intriguing storylines of the 2025 NFL draft was the dramatic fall of former Colorado Buffaloes star quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
For much of the offseason, Sanders was projected as the No. 2 quarterback on the board and a potential top-five pick.

However, after a series of questionable pre-draft interviews, his decision not to participate in the NFL combine, and other contributing factors, he slid all the way to the fifth round. He was ultimately selected as the sixth quarterback off the board, going to the Cleveland Browns with the No. 144 overall pick.
Now, as Sanders begins his journey with the Browns and arrives in Cleveland this week, he announced some exciting news on Thursday—his first official Panini Instant Rookie Card is set to be released, marking a new partnership with Panini America.

Sanders enters a crowded and competitive quarterback room in Cleveland. The Browns also selected former Oregon Ducks standout Dillon Gabriel in the third round—one of the more surprising moves of the draft, considering Sanders was widely regarded as the more prominent prospect heading into the weekend.

The Browns currently have Deshaun Watson—still under contract and rehabbing from an Achilles injury—alongside veteran Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, who was signed in free agency earlier this offseason.

Despite the crowded quarterback room, Sanders will have a prime opportunity to earn his spot and potentially become the franchise's future starter. He made his intentions clear shortly after being drafted.
"I'm trying to bring Cleveland a Super Bowl," Sanders said during a visit to a local Cleveland high school this week.

Jets' Will McDonald IV a 'beast' after adding weight in the offseason New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn recently provided an update on edge defender Will McDonald IV, saying that the former first-rounder has added weight to his frame this offseason. "He's a dynamic athlete for a guy of his stature," Glenn said during the team's OTAs. "I think he's like 6-4, like 240... he actually weighed in more than that because he's gained about 15 pounds." At his new playing weight, McDonald was a bright spot at OTAs, continuously getting after the passer and disrupting the offense. He was called a "beast" by NFL reporter Connor Hughes of SNY after a showing at OTAs where Hughes says McDonald got home for three sacks on the day. The added weight hasn't slowed McDonald down, and it seems to have brought his game to another level. While McDonald finished tied for 12th in the league with 10.5 sacks and 8th in the league with 68 pressures, the hope for him is that the added weight will help him develop into a well-rounded defensive end, specifically one who can be more effective in defending the run. Among 211 edge defenders in 2024, he ranked 205th in run defense grade (39.5), according to Pro Football Focus. "It's very good for him because it allows him to set the edge a lot better," Glenn said on McDonald adding some weight. "He has really long arms... he's a guy that has a skillset as far as rushing the passer that... I haven't been around a lot of guys just in my coaching tenure like what we have with him. I'm going to enjoy seeing exactly what he's gonna be able to do for us... and we're gonna let him loose." Going into year three in the NFL, McDonald is already a very productive pass rusher, but now he has the chance to propel himself into the upper echelon of edge rushers in the league if he can improve his strength and run defense. If McDonald plays like the "beast" from OTAs during this coming regular season, and his run defense takes steps forward with his bigger frame, it could set him up for a big-time pay day in the future. The Jets will have to make a decision on his fifth-year option, and McDonald is making it seem like a no-brainer for Jets brass at this point. McDonald will enter this year with a new jersey number, going from his old number 99 to his new number 9.

Travis Hunter's acrobatic play in EA Sports Madden 26 trailer
Former Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter, who was one of three cover athletes in EA Sports College Football 25, will now make his first appearance in EA Sports' flagship game, Madden 26. The game will come out closer to the beginning of the NFL season, but EA Sports released a trailer for the game earlier this week. In the highlight-filled trailer, Hunter is seen grabbing a touchdown pass while diving over the goal line before celebrating with a twisting backflip. Not only did the trailer excite fans hoping to play as Hunter, but similar to EA Sports College Football 25, gamers will also be able to play with Hunter on defense and offense. One big question remains: what rating will Hunter receive upon the game's release? His Heisman trophy-winning season cemented his collegiate success in real life and virtually went from a dominant 97 to an elite 99 overall, making him the top player in the game. While it is unlikely that the Jaguars' rookie receives a 99 rating right off the bat, a low 80s rating seems to be the sweet spot for highly touted rookies. Hunter will have to battle Las Vegas Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty, Tennessee Titans Cam Ward and New York Giants Abdul Carter to be the highest-rated rookie. Colorado's former star is a strong candidate as the top-rated rookie after winning the Heisman and finishing the 2024 season with 36 total tackles, four interceptions, 11 pass breakups, one tackle for loss and one forced fumble on defense. On offense, Hunter was even more impressive, putting up 1,258 receiving yards and 16 total touchdowns, leading the way to him becoming the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft.
