Where Florida ranks in ESPN's final 2025 men's NCAA basketball recruiting class rankings

USA Today27-05-2025

The final commitments for the 2025 men's college basketball recruiting class are now officially signed, which allows those who have been tracking the progress of high school hoops stars to the collegiate level to finalize their rankings.
Among those who recently put the final touches on their opinions of the current cycle is ESPN's basketball recruiting insider Jeff Borzello, who published his final 2025 men's NCAA basketball recruiting class rankings on Memorial Day. Among those listed were the Florida Gators, who came in at No. 22 after falling four spots from the previous update.
"The Gators have two ESPN 100 prospects, both from the state of Florida. Ingram is an incredibly intriguing player. He's the son of former NFL tight end Cornelius Ingram and made waves on the Nike EYBL circuit with his explosiveness and highlight-reel ability in transition," Borzello offers.
"Alexander Lloyd (No. 36) isn't far behind Ingram in the rankings; Lloyd can play either guard position and score in a variety of ways."

LSU's Garrett Nussmeier projects to be a second generation NFL QB

LSU's Garrett Nussmeier projects to be a second generation NFL QB Garrett Nussmeier got his collegiate career started right- throwing for 395 yards and three touchdowns in his debut, earning Reliaquest Bowl MVP honors along the way. There is no denying that the 2026 NFL Draft will be rich in quarterback prospects. How rich depends on how many of the top tier QB prospects forgo some of their remaining NCAA eligibility and declare early. As of now, the elite grouping consists of LSU's Garrett Nussmeier, Clemson's Cade Klubnik, South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers Texas' Arch Manning and Penn State's Drew Allar. Nussmeier has something the other names on that list do not- NFL bloodlines. His father, Doug Nussmeier, played a couple seasons in the league, and he's currently the New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator. Garrett Nussmeier got his collegiate career started right- throwing for 395 yards and three touchdowns in his debut, earning Reliaquest Bowl MVP honors along the way. Now he's rated by some to be the second best QB prospect in the upcoming class. Yes, the son also rises, as Ernest Hemingway famously said. Nussmeier waited his turn behind all-world QB Jayden Daniels at LSU, and he's utilized his playing time opportunities to put up big numbers. His decision making and arm strength are top notch. He's a very accurate pocket passer who plays the game in a way that could best be described as gutsy. However, there are concerns about his size. Plenty of scouts question his ability to take the inevitable pounding at the next level.

Shilo Sanders Turns Heads With Apple Watch Drop for Colorado Players

Shilo Sanders Turns Heads With Apple Watch Drop for Colorado Players originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Shilo Sanders may be in the NFL now, but the former Colorado safety is still finding ways to influence the Buffaloes program he helped elevate. Advertisement In a recent video posted by defensive lineman Tawfiq Thomas, many other Colorado players showed off Apple Watches gifted by Sanders, now a rookie safety with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Thomas celebrated the moment by flashing his new piece of technology and wrote, 'Apple Watch after workout. Yes sir, Shilo!' The group of Buffs joined in by doing 'The Shedeur," honoring Shilo's younger brother and former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. His gift carried a deeper message that despite moving on, he remains connected to the program. During his time in Boulder, Sanders was known as a vocal leader and a presence on and off the field. He embraced recruiting efforts and took ownership of the defense, often urging prospective players to reach out directly. Now, his leadership takes a new form by reminding current players that the brotherhood doesn't end when players leave campus. The Apple Watches may draw attention, but the real value lies in the message of loyalty and legacy. Florida Football Dealt Bad News on Tuesday

Florida Football Dealt Bad News on Tuesday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Florida Gators are heading into a 2025 season that will have plenty of hope, expectations and pressure surrounding it. Advertisement Head coach Billy Napier spent most of last season on the hot seat before it was revealed he'd be given another chance in 2025. The Gators ended up finishing 8-5, securing the program's first season above .500 since 2020. As he and the team look to build off of their strong finish to the year, they have been dealt with a bit of adversity on Tuesday. As reported by the Gainesville Sun, one of the members of the team's 2025 recruiting class was arrested and taken to the Alachua Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The player's information was released due to the fact that they are 17-years-old. However, Kevin Brockway was able to confirm what the player was detained for. "An incoming Florida football freshman has been arrested on a third-degree felony charge of false imprisonment (dating violence) following an alleged altercation on June 1," Brockway wrote. Florida Gators head coach Billy Medley-USA TODAY Sports The school did release a statement on the matter as well, but are still in the investigative process. Advertisement "We will continue to gather facts, cooperate with and monitor the legal and administrative process," the spokesperson told Brockway. The report revealed that the incident occurred after a verbal argument occurred following the player finding something on the victim's cellular device. It then became "physical" as the unnamed player pushed the victim onto a bed and shook her, while holding her down. Brockway also confirmed that the alleged victim accused the player of choking her, punching her in the face, preventing her from leaving and throwing her phone at a wall. While the player is not named, the report did reveal they weighed "close to 400 pounds," outweighing the alleged victim by over 200 pounds. The player reportedly denied choking the alleged victim, and also denied preventing her from leaving. Advertisement The Gators signed a 19-man class for 2025, ranking as the No. 7 class in the country.
