A.Q. Shipley replaces Ron Wolfley as radio analyst for Cardinals broadcast team
The Arizona Cardinals have decided on a new radio analyst to partner with Dave Pasch for their games this season. Replacing Ron Wolfley, who stepped down from the job after 20 years, is former Cardinals center A.Q. Shipley.
The team made the announcement on Monday.
Shipley played for the Cardinals from 2015-2019, playing in 110 games and starting 72.
Since his NFL retirement, he has been a regular guest on the Pat McAfee Show on ESPN. He gives weekly breakdowns of offensive line play.
He joins Pasch, entering his 24th season as the team's play-by-play announcer, and Paul Calvisi, the team's sideline reporter, who enters his 21st season with the team.
Here were some of the reactions.

NFL Top 100 Players of 2025:@49ers OT Trent Williams checks in at No. 45! @NFLFilms The NFL began its sixth week revealing players in the "NFL Top 100." This week, players 41-50 have been revealed. On Wednesday, two players the Arizona Cardinals will face as opponents in 2025 were named. One is player No. 45. No. 45 in the top 100 this year is a future Hall of Famer the Cardinals play twice a year — San Francisco 49ers left tackle Trent Williams. He was No. 7 in the top 100 a year ago. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, the man whose blind side Williams protects, said Williams is a Hall of Famer. Few would disagree with that. He is the best tackle in the NFL and has been for years. "Every time I step on the field with Trent, I always know my left side is good," Purdy said. "He goes out and just completely dominates the guy in front of him in the run game, pass game. He makes some NFL guys look like their in high school." Defensive lineman Solomon Thomas, now with the Dallas Cowboys but was a teammate of Williams' with the Niners, called him a "freak of a human being," noting his size, strength, his athleticism, his technique. "It's crazy to watch," he said. This offseason, PFF found what players have dominated against other individual teams. Williams is the guy who has been the most dominant player against the Cardinals. The Cardinals play the 49ers twice, once in Santa Clara in Week 3 and then in Arizona in Week 11. New York Giants likely to give Russell Wilson more pre-snap leeway than recent QBs
The New York Giants' offense will sport a new look at quarterback this season. Gone are the days of minimal pre-snap movement and uncertainty, replaced by more versatility, creativity, and, hopefully, production. That is mainly due to the arrival of free-agent quarterback Russell Wilson, a 14-year veteran who has won a Super Bowl and been named to 10 Pro Bowls. Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka can basically partner with Wilson this season when it comes to calling plays and making adjustments at the line of scrimmage. "Obviously, Kaf's played the game, played the position, he sees it like the quarterback does, and he's got a great viewpoint of the game. We get to spend a lot of time together in the quarterback room as well, and I think Kaf is a really brilliant mind, too," Wilson told reporters this week. "I think the ability to share ideas, the collaboration, is what's really special here, and I think that how they do it and how we do it together, it's been a lot of fun. It's been a lot of fun being able to attack the defense, see things, and share a lot of successful plays and a lot of successful ideas, and I think that's been a lot of fun, too." Kafka doesn't have to start from scratch with Wilson. On Wednesday, he said all parties got on the same page quickly this offseason. "Yeah, just opening up (those) open lines of communication, having dialogue on plays that he likes, things that I like, things that are within the offense already, maybe there's some crossover, maybe there's some new thoughts. It's just about opening those lines of communication," Kafka said. Kafka was asked if he would allow Wilson more leeway at the line of scrimmage, a privilege Wilson had throughout most of his career. "I think it just goes back to being great with the communication, making sure everyone's on the same page, having a plan for how we want to attack a certain look and having the appropriate tools to use that," he said, "whether that's at the line of scrimmage, whether it's built into the play call, whether it's adjusted at the line of scrimmage just by leverage or coverage look. There's a lot of different ways to get to that, and certainly the quarterbacks have the keys to the car in terms of being able to operate that way." The Giants have been at the bottom of the NFL in scoring the past two seasons, and much of that can be blamed on injuries and poor play at the quarterback position.
