Fahmi extends condolences to late RTM producer Irwan Budi's family
Irwan Budi passed away last night due to kidney and lung complications.
Fahmi shared his tribute in a Facebook post, recalling his visit to Irwan Budi's home in Petra Jaya, Kuching, in September 2023.
During the visit, Fahmi delivered a contribution from the Kasih@HAWANA Fund after learning of the producer's declining health.
Fahmi highlighted Irwan Budi's 20-year service with RTM, praising his significant contributions to Malaysia's broadcasting industry.
'May his soul be blessed with mercy and placed among Allah's righteous and faithful servants. Al-Fatihah,' Fahmi said.
Irwan Budi, 51, died at his home in Taman Sourabaya Indah, Petrajaya, Kuching, around 8 pm.
He began his career with RTM in 2005 as a radio announcer, reporter, and section coordinator.
Since 2021, Irwan Budi had been battling lung cancer and kidney disease while stationed at RTM Limbang in Sarawak.
His final rites will be held at a mosque in Taman Sukma, followed by burial at Semariang Muslim Cemetery after Zohor prayers today.
He is survived by his wife and three sons. - Bernama

KOTA KINABALU: The mother of the late Zara Qairina Mahathir said that she was not in the right state of mind to insist for an autopsy to be carried out and just signed the document to turn down a post mortem in the immediate aftermath of her daughter's death. In a Facebook post, Noraidah Lamat said she was in a state of shock and panicked when she signed the document declining the autopsy. There was no one to provide her with advice not to sign the document refusing the autopsy. 'I was shocked, panicked and could not make a proper decision during the incident. No advice was given and if we had known, we would not have signed the document refusing the autopsy,' Noraidah said in a comment on Facebook under the handle of "Noie AiDa". The 45-year-old woman admitted that she could not think clearly when asked to give permission for an autopsy to be conducted on her daughter, Zara Qairina, 13, who died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 here on July 17. 'There was no clear explanation and I am not used to cases like this. I panicked and was not given any advice on the post-mortem process. 'If I had known (the importance of conducting a post-mortem), I would not have signed the document to refuse the post-mortem,' she said. Her lawyer, Hamid Ismail, confirmed that the account with the username "Noie AiDa" belonged to Noraidah. On Wednesday (Aug 13), Bukit Aman revealed that there was indeed a procedural non-compliance by the police in failing to conduct a post-mortem. However, Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M Kumar said Noraidah herself signed a document issued by the hospital not to allow a post-mortem to be conducted on her daughter's remains. Zara Qairina died on July 17 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, a day after being found unconscious beside a drain at her religious school dormitory in Papar. The Attorney General's Chambers then ordered that the Form 1 student's body to be exhumed and a post-mortem performed on Sunday (Aug 10). Zara Qairina's body was reburied at the Tanjung Ubi Islamic Cemetery in Sipitang on Aug 11.

307 permanent medical officers deployed to Sabah under e-Placement initiative
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 307 permanent medical officers will be stationed across healthcare facilities in Sabah under Phase One of the e-Placement initiative. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said this move aims to strengthen services and reduce existing workloads. He noted that 10 officers will serve at Duchess of Kent Hospital (HDOK), the main referral hospital for Sabah's east coast. 'HDOK offers 19 in-house specialties and serves Sandakan, Kinabatangan, Beluran, Telupid, and Tongod districts,' he said in a Facebook post. The hospital, with 414 beds, handles high workloads including outpatient care, surgery, emergencies, and maternity services. 'The new staff will improve service quality for the public,' Dzulkefly added. His visit to HDOK also addressed facility upgrades, such as a new block and a larger water tank for uninterrupted operations. In a separate post, Dzulkefly reviewed the Measles-Rubella Immunisation Program at Karamunting Rural Clinic with Sandakan MP Vivian Wong Shir Yee. The program targets over 95% immunisation coverage to achieve herd immunity and stop infection chains.
