The 18-year-old phenom will be back where he made his name as one of the most electrifying talents in the game and a superstar in his native Malaysia. His opponent, Paez, is 13 years his senior and has just a single ONE appearance to his name: a split decision loss to Sean Climaco at ONE Fight Night 28 earlier this year.
'It's been exciting, you know,' Ghazali told the Post. 'Not many people know that I'm fighting soon, so it's gonna be a shocker for the Malaysian fans mostly here.
'He [Paez] comes to fight. He's experienced, he's strong, he's been around. He fought a pretty good fight against Climaco.
'I've been waiting for a fight for quite a while now – and yes, I'm ready.'

Now deep into his training camp in Bangkok, Ghazali is working with former ONE Featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon Singha Mawynn and has continued to grow despite a unanimous decision defeat to Johan 'Panda Kick' Estupinan at ONE 170.
'I just got here a few weeks ago to get into a serious fight camp,' he said. 'In my last fight camp, I was going through a lot of change.

ONE Championship: Adrian Lee's ominous warning to ONE Fight Night 35 opponent
Adrian Lee said Tye Ruotolo made a serious mistake when he called him out for his first professional MMA bout. The surging lightweight prospect, younger brother of women's MMA icon and former atomweight champion Angela Lee, current double champion Christian Lee, and the late Victoria Lee – who was undefeated in ONE – will face the decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion in the ring at ONE Fight Night 35 in Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium on September 6. Ruotolo's twin brother Kade is also a multiple-time world champion in submission grappling and had been heavily linked to fighting Adrian after amassing a matching 3-0 MMA record. 'When Tye called me out, I was really surprised,' Lee told the Post. 'I thought it was a horrible idea. 'I think I'm a terrible match-up for him, but it's a great opportunity for me to take his momentum.' Play Ruotolo is regarded as one of the best submission grapplers in the world but has around two years of MMA training. Lee, who is 3-0 with three submission victories since turning professional, said that will make the difference.

White House to host MMA event next year, says UFC boss
The White House is to play host to a mixed martial arts bout on July 4 next year, the day the United States marks the 250th anniversary of its founding, UFC boss Dana White has said. President Donald Trump has been a regular guest at the often-bloody contests, where fighters punch, kick and grapple with their opponents in a no-holds-barred battle to submission or knockout. Bringing the brutal combat sport to the centre of US political power will mark a historic first. 'It is definitely going to happen,' White, a high-profile supporter of the US president, told CBS television on Tuesday. 'I talked to him last night and I'm flying out there at the end of this month – and I'm going to sit down and walk him through all the plans and the renderings, and we're going to start deciding what he wants and doesn't want.' Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is the largest and most successful organisation in the burgeoning world of MMA, a blend of martial arts disciplines like jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, boxing and wrestling. ONE Championship: Regian Eersel KOs George Jarvis to retain lightweight Muay Thai title
Regian Eersel added another emphatic chapter to his reign as ONE's lightweight Muay Thai king, dispatching George Jarvis with a first-round knockout in the main event of ONE Fight Night 34 on Friday. The Suriname-born Dutchman needed just 84 seconds to finish off the British challenger at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium, retaining his title and taking home a US$50,000 performance bonus. Eersel had spoken beforehand about a strategy to drag Jarvis into deep waters and score a late finish, but once the opening bell rang, he wasted no time asserting his authority. The 32-year-old, nicknamed 'The Immortal', pushed Jarvis onto the back foot from the outset, landing clean combinations before a sharp right hand dropped the former WBC Muay Thai world champion. Jarvis beat the count, but another right hand moments later sealed the result. Regian Eersel improved his record to 25 wins from his past 26 bouts. Photo: ONE Championship With the victory, Eersel made the third successful defence of his Muay Thai crown and improved his record to 25 wins from his past 26 bouts. His only loss during that stretch came against Alexis Nicolas in 2024, a blemish he avenged twice to close out their trilogy.
