Released WWE Star R-Truth Has Strong Interest From Top Promotion: Report

The recent WWE departure of beloved veteran R-Truth was reportedly a financial decision made by the company. According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, R-Truth's contract was so high that for the level they were using him they felt it made no sense to renew it.
This news surprised some. He had literally just come off a program that led to a high-profile match with WWE Champ John Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Meltzer reported that the news of his exit was met with significant unhappiness within the WWE locker room. There were a lot of wrestlers who were very unhappy because he was so popular with the talent. WWE fans also voiced their support, with chants for R-Truth on the June 2nd episode of Raw after his departure became public.
The situation was reportedly handled carefully backstage. Meltzer noted, "Talent was reportedly told no R-Truth T-shirts on Raw, but Rhea Ripley was wearing one backstage and took it off before going on TV."

Looking ahead, a return to a former home could be in the cards for R-Truth. Meltzer stated that those in TNA have already said that they want to make him an offer, and for that company, he'll come in fairly hot. This would mark a significant homecoming for the star.
Truth had a historic run in TNA from 2002 to 2007 between his WWE stints. Wrestling as Ron "The Truth" Killings, he became a main event player in TNA. In August 2002, he made history by defeating Ken Shamrock to become the first-ever recognized African-American NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
It was a title he would go on to hold a second time. During his TNA tenure, he also showcased his charisma as a founding member of the popular 3Live Kru faction alongside Konnan and B.G. James (formerly Road Dogg in WWE).
TNA is where he also held tag team gold. His time in TNA featured a more serious and aggressive persona compared to the comedic character he later perfected in his second, lengthy WWE run.
It would also give him a chance to return to WWE if he so wanted to do so one day as TNA and WWE have a working relationship.

1 in 3 U.S. workers say they've had romances with their managers
The complexities and controversies of workplace romances are well known—they're the topic of countless sitcom jokes, and we bet you can certainly recall a salty saying or two about the often ill-advised practice. And, of course, the whole topic just splashed across the headlines when two senior executives from the startup Astronomer, both married to other people, were caught on a kiss cam at a Coldplay concert. But data from a recent survey shows that many workers, even though they're aware of the emotional and professional risks of workplace relationships, just can't seem to keep their hands off each other. Zety, a Polish online résumé company, surveyed over 1,000 U.S. workers as part of its 'Modern Workplace Romance Report,' Newsweek notes. The data on workplace romances is startling: 79% of respondents said they'd had long-term workplace romances. That's nearly eight in 10 people—take a glance around your office and see if the gossip you've heard lines up with this stat. More concerningly, since it raises numerous ethical issues, 32% of people said they'd dated a boss or superior. 86% of people in the survey also think the surge of hybrid and remote working driven by the pandemic has made it easier for work-based romances to happen — possibly because there's less risk of being seen by co-workers if you're simply not in the office. And 94% of respondents also said emojis and GIF files were a boon for workplace flirting, while 79% said they'd bungled sending flirty contacts by sending them to the wrong person. Perhaps the most obvious statistic in the Zety survey is nonetheless interesting simply because of the giant figure involved: 91% of U.S. workers said they'd used flirting or charm to boost their position at work. That's over nine in 10 people, most likely including folks in your office. Newsweek also quotes data from a different survey, from anonymous workplace chat app Blind, that found that among over 8,000 American respondents, human resources staff were the group most likely to have had workplace romances. That's a curious piece of data, especially in context of a 2018 report that surveyed 150 HR executives, finding that one-third of office romances end with someone being fired. Zety's data doesn't necessarily imply that workplace romances are illicit affairs of the caught-on-Coldplay-kiss-cam kind, of course, and neither does Blind's data. But some of the statistics should worry leaders of almost any company. Conscious of the emotional disruption that workplace romances can cause, to say nothing of the legal complexities that may arise if a manager is accused of favoritism because they're romantically involved with a subordinate, many workplaces have strict policies on the issue. But, as the saying goes, 'love will find a way,' and Zety's data shows that despite employers commonly banning or restricting workplace relationships, people just keep having them. Newsweek notes that an earlier survey by Resume Genius found 72% of people who've had workplace romances don't inform management or HR about them — despite the Blind data on the romantic risks confessed by HR employees. Many experts have penned pieces advising on the thorny matter of office romances (many with a simple 'don't do it!' slant). But why should you care about this? The Coldplay concert drama again turned a spotlight onto the issue of work relationships, which means it might be a good time to refresh your company's policies, and maybe even reissue them to your staff so they're aware of whether relationships are permitted, or if they should notify managers of a relationship and so on. But you may also not want to overreact: Some other recent data shows that fewer people are having work romances now than in previous decades—possibly echoing other research that shows the traditional 'workplace bestie' is also a fading phenomenon. — By Kit Eaton

Halloween Horror Nights Welcomes ‘Five Nights At Freddy's' And WWE
Halloween Horror Nights unleashes all-new haunted house 'Five Nights at Freddy's.' Iconic titans of terror, Five Nights at Freddy's and WWE's The Wyatt Sicks, are heading to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. The immersive houses for both massive IPs will feature at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort. Fans of Five Nights at Freddy's, or FNAF as it is also known, will venture through an all-new haunted house inspired by the 2023 hit film, following in the footsteps of Mike, played by Josh Hutcherson in the movie, after he take as the night security guard in the abandoned themed entertainment center, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. That's where terrifying chaos ensues. As brave ticket holders find their way through the corridors, they quickly learn that nothing is what it seems. As they move through the building, they will "encounter the supernatural and become lured into the black heart of an unspeakable nightmare," coming face-to-face with full-scale replicas of the eerie characters from the film - Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and Mr. Cupcake. They will stalk guests as they pass through recreations of classic scenes and locations such as the security room and the showroom where the characters performed. Much like Xanathar in the Dungeons and Dragons: Secrets of Waterdeep experience during Universal Studios Hollywood's inaugural Fan Fest Nights, FNAF's larger-than-life characters have been created in collaboration with Jim Henson's Creature Shop. They also masterfully produced the animatronics and costumes for the fan-favorite film, so it doesn't get more authentic than that. Blumhouse's Five Nights at Freddy's movie, based on another widely popular videogame IP that inspired a hit movie, grossed $291.49 million at the worldwide box office in 2023. The sequel will land in theaters on Friday, December 5, 2025. WWE Enters The Halloween Horror Nights Ring When fans have taken a break after scaring themselves silly in Five Nights at Freddy's, they can head to WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks. That's where they will "go head-to-head with Uncle Howdy in an experience that not only features The Wyatt Sicks but honors the legacy of Bray Wyatt." Fans will already be aware of this, but for those who aren't, with its portrayal of dark and twisted characters, the five-strong crew has quickly emerged as one of the most disturbing and disruptive groups in WWE history. Those nightmarish figures are going to manifest at Halloween Horror Nights this spooky season. According to a release, "horror fans brave enough to travel through the light of the lantern will find themselves transported into the maniacal minds of The Wyatt Sicks, where each member reigns supreme within their horrific domains." "There, Uncle Howdy, together with Ramblin' Rabbit, Mercy the Buzzard, Abby the Witch, and Huskus the Pig, will be waiting to take bloody retribution on a world that has abandoned them. Along the way, guests will be stalked by the eerie presence of The Fiend, Bray's sadistic alter ego, who looms within the shadows and beckons them to let him in." Five Nights at Freddy's and WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks are the final two haunted houses to be announced for this year's bicoastal event. Both join an incredibly strong offering that fans are already predicting will be a vintage year for the seasonal scarefest that traditionally draws visitors from around the world. Nightmares Come Alive At Halloween Horror Nights Among the previously announced nightmarish experiences is a blood-soaked haunted house inspired by the gory Terrifier film franchise. It'll feature supernatural entity Art the Clown terrorizing the fictional town of Miles County, New York, and torturing his victims in creative but cruel and "sickeningly sinister ways." Promising "an unfathomable level of gore," guests can expect "a grisly haunted house oozing with a new sense of terror." Elsewhere, legendary slasher icon Jason Voorhees is the star of Jason Universe, which sees the seemingly indestructible killer from the Friday the 13th franchise get his own haunted house at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. The all-original experience will take guests back on "a vengeance tour through the summer camp to see where it all began, from the creaking floorboards of Jason's ramshackle cabin to the decaying main lodge and the eerie forest that offers no refuge for his victims." Also featuring at this year's Halloween Horror Nights is a house inspired by Fallout, Prime Video's acclaimed smash hit show. Ahead of the series' second season premiere, the immersive Fallout attraction will transport fans into iconic scenes and put them face-to-face with their characters on a journey from Vault 33 to the Wasteland. Terror returns in 'Scarecrow: Music by Slash' and 'Monstruos 3: The Ghosts of Latin America' at ... More Universal Studios Hollywood. Fan Favorites Get A Terrifying Refresh At Halloween Horror Nights In Hollywood In terms of original mazes not based on IPs, two fan-favorite mazes evolve this year. At Universal Studios Hollywood, 2022's Scarecrow: The Reaping gets a revamp and a new name, returning as Scarecrow: Music by Slash. Set to a soundtrack created by the rock icon, his seventh consecutive year providing a score for a Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights haunted house, Mother Nature "seeks vengeance on the homesteaders for their sins of the past that will be carried out by farmland scarecrows, mute witnesses who have become the guardians of destruction for anyone who crosses their path." Meanwhile, La Llorona headlines the final entry in a trilogy of terror, Monstruos 3: The Ghosts of Latin America, a haunted house with a narrative based on Latin American folklore. In addition to the legendary Weeping Woman, the Colombian female boogeyman, the sharp-toothed La Muelona, and the horse-headed La Siguanaba will also feature to scare the bejesus out of visitors. We're now in gushing distance of Halloween Horror Nights. It kicks off at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 4, 2025. However, Universal Orlando Resort gets the ball rolling a little earlier on Friday, August 29, 2025. Tickets are now on sale.

WWE 'Raw': Roman Reigns, Jey Uso fall to Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed
July 29 (UPI) -- Roman Reigns and Jey Uso were decimated during a wild brawl with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed on WWE Raw. Chaos erupted as Uso faced off against Reed in a one-on-one match in the main event of Raw on Monday. Breakker made his way to the ring after Uso had gained the upper hand following a Suicide Dive from the ring. Breakker wasted no time in delivering a Spear to Uso on the entrance ramp, which ended the match in a disqualification. Breakker and Reed started to beat down Uso until his cousin, Reigns, ran down to the ring to even the odds. Reigns successfully cleared the ring despite not being able to lift up the over 300-pound Reed. The tables were turned, however, when Reigns and Uso decided to continue the fight outside the ring where their rivals were waiting. Breakker and Reed proceeded to quickly lay waste to the cousin duo. Reed performed a Tsunami on both men from the top rope, while Breakker ended things with a Spear that sent Reigns and Uso crashing through the side ring barrier. Breakker and Reed are a part of Seth Rollins' new cabal alongside manager Paul Heyman. Rollins, who holds the Money in the Bank briefcase, is currently out with an injury. Reigns and Uso will be teaming up to take on Breakker and Reed in a Tag Team match at SummerSlam this weekend, which takes place Aug. 2 and 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Rapper Cardi B serves as the host. SummerSlam will also feature Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena defending his title against Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Gunther defending his title against CM Punk.
