Orlando Bloom reacts to bizarre rumor he's romancing world leader amid Katy Perry's secret Justin Trudeau date
The 48-year-old actor was previously engaged to the Firework songstress - but their split was confirmed in June after nine years together and welcoming daughter Daisy, four.
Earlier this week, Katy was seen enjoying a dinner date with Justin in Montreal amid her Lifetimes Tour. And sources have since stated that the pair had an 'instant connection' and are 'interested in each other.'
On Friday, the satirical news site The Onion poked fun at the romance speculation by sharing a seemingly AI photo on Instagram of her ex Orlando on a date with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean star appeared to understand the reference and playfully jumped to the comment section to add clapping hand emojis.
The caption of the post read: 'Just weeks after announcing his split with fiancée Katy Perry, English actor Orlando Bloom was photographed Friday dining with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Orlando Bloom, 48, has reacted to a bizarre claim that he is romancing a world leader just days after his ex Katy Perry sparked up romance rumors with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau; seen in March in Beverly Hills
'"Angela kept Orlando laughing all night - he couldn't keep his eyes off her!" said an insider source who spotted the pair sipping wine, slurping oysters, and splitting a decadent piece of chocolate layer cake at a Michelin-starred restaurant.'
In the seemingly AI-generated image, the Hollywood star and Angela could be seen sitting at a candlelit table inside a fancy eatery.
The original photo showed Justin at a restaurant with Angela as well as Christoph Heusgen in Berlin in 2016.
Earlier this week on Monday, Katy and Justin were seen enjoying dinner at Le Violon in Montreal amidst the Canadian leg of her Lifetime Tour.
In video obtained by DailyMail.com, the pair took part in a lighthearted conversation as they sat across from each other as they dined at the eatery.
At one point, the mom-of-one held a small smile on her face as she listened to what Justin was saying.
Two days later, the former Canadian Prime Minister - who announced his resignation earlier this year in January - was also spotted at her Montreal concert on Wednesday at the Bell Centre.
It comes two years after his split from ex-wife Sophie Gregoire in August 2023. The former couple are also parents to three children.
Katy and Orlando's separation came to light in June following their engagement in 2019 and birth of their daughter the following year.
The caption of the post read: 'Just weeks after announcing his split with fiancée Katy Perry, English actor Orlando Bloom was photographed Friday dining with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel'
A source told People in an article published on Saturday that the pair 'are interested in each other, but it will take a while to see where this goes.
'She is traveling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction. They have a lot in common.'
Aside from both having a passion for music, the insider added that they 'are idealists and still live in a world where they think they can make improvements, although it has gotten more difficult.'
While Katy and Justin are juggling their 'own personal responsibilities,' a long-distance relationship could be a possibility for the two.
A separate source also told the outlet that Justin 'is a [politician] who is used to living a secret life with his personal activity, and wouldn't put on a public display at this stage.
'He knows they were being watched and is smart enough to play it low-key for now. [The] timing seems good for them, although a romance is in very early stages.'
However, another source recently told DailyMail.com that the pair's dinner outing was simply 'a get together.'
'She hasn't told anyone it was anything more, and she usually wears her heart on her sleeve, so if something were happening, she'd let her close friends know. But right now it is nothing more than friendship.'
Following her split from Orlando, the singer 'isn't ready to start dating anyone right now' and is instead focusing on 'healing' from the separation.
'Could that change? Obviously, but the ball is in Katy's court right now. No relationship so far.'
Another insider stated that Katy and Justin first met at an event and that their dinner date this week was only 'a hangout.'
'They met at an event and they have had some good conversations. They text each other, it seems to be very friendly and nothing more at the moment.
'It could develop, of course, but it's not anything more than two single people who had dinner together and like to talk.'
The source further explained that Katy 'literally just became single five minutes ago and they haven't even separated all of their stuff yet. She's not going to fall in love with someone new so quickly.'
In late June, it was revealed that Katy and Orlando officially called it quits after dating for nine years.
At the time, a source told Us Weekly: 'Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,' while also adding that the separation has been 'not contentious' thus far.
'Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.'
The Teenage Dream hitmaker was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 until their divorce in 2012.
The insider further added that the reported breakup had been 'a long time coming' and that their relationship had also been 'tense for months.'
And representatives for the two stars also confirmed to DailyMail.com: 'Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.
'They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is - and always will be - raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.'
In the wake of the separation, Orlando also flew to Venice to attend the star-studded nuptials between Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.
The actor was spotted mingling with a number of celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Sydney Sweeney.
The former couple reunited last month in July for a mini reunion in Italy amidst a break in her Lifetimes Tour.
The pair were seen spending time along the Amalfi Coast - and were also accompanied by daughter Daisy, four. Orlando is also father to teenage son Flynn, 14 - whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
During the trip, Orlando jumped to his Instagram page to share photos that had captured memorable moments. One image was taken as he joined Katy for a relaxing boat ride at sunset with their daughter Daisy and his son Flynn.
Afterwards, the singer resumed her concerts - and had an emotional moment during her L.A. stop.
She seemingly referenced to her recent separation from the actor before singing the heartbreak track Not Like the Movies which had been requested by fans.

Heidi Klum, 52, puts on cheeky display as she celebrates major milestone with husband Tom Kaulitz, 35
Heidi Klum is celebrating six years of marital bliss with her husband Tom Kaulitz. The supermodel, 52, marked the anniversary with a romantic, poolside snap to her Instagram on Sunday. '6 Years married today,' she wrote in the caption, adding in German, 'Ich liebe Dich mein Tom,' which translates to 'I love you my Tom.' Champagne glass in hand, Heidi shared a kiss and a snuggle with her husband as they basked in the sun in an infinity pool. They appeared to be on vacation at a stunning, beach locale. Heidi also shared various content of their anniversary celebrations, including video of them pouring a glass of champagne, a kissing clip, and photos from their wedding. She also showed off the gifts they appeared to exchange, along with video of their cuddled-up feet. Heidi wasn't planning to meet the love of her life the night she met Tom. In fact, she almost didn't go out. 'I really wanted to stay home,' the supermodel recalled in an interview with People. 'But then I gave myself a little kick in the butt.' That spontaneous decision to attend a friend's party turned into what Klum now calls 'the sliding door moment' of her life. Seven years later, the supermodel and the Tokio Hotel guitarist, who got engaged in December 2018 and married just two months later, are still going strong. Kaulitz offered Klum, a mother of four, a 'clean slate' after two previous marriages — first to celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino in 1997 and then to British singer-songwriter Seal, with whom she was married for seven years. But with new love came old habits. 'At first I wanted to [project] what I had learned from different men I had been with… like 'Ooh, this reminds me of something that happened, is that a flag?'' she admitted. Ultimately, it was Kaulitz who challenged her to let go of her baggage. The Project Runway revealed, early in their relationship, Kaulitz said: 'Don't do this to me, because I'm not this person, I'm not that person. Scratch everything. I have to have a fair chance.' Doing this allowed their love to blossom as evidenced by their loved-up red carpet appearances and PDA-filled social media posts. The couple also enjoy a number of shared activities, including shopping for lingerie. 'He loves sitting there, and I go into the changing room and I come out with a different outfit on,' Klum shares. 'He loves me in a miniskirt. He loves me in pumps. He just loves when I get all dolled up.' The two even got matching name tattoos, though Klum jokes: 'His looks much better — so I'm the better tattoo artist.' Despite enjoying life as a wife, Klum says marriage hasn't changed her. 'This is pretty much what you get. I'm pretty loud and you know I'm there.' What keeps the relationship fresh?' she noted. She went on to credit 'stolen weekends,' 'handwritten notes,' and making time for each other for keeping them acting like newlyweds — plus 'a few things she can't share.' Although their 17-year age gap still draws attention, Klum insists she doesn't entertain the criticism. 'When our door closes at home, I don't really care so much what happens around us,' she says. 'I've learned things from my husband that I didn't know I was capable of doing,' she added. At 52, Heidi Klum continues to own her space by maintaining an unapologetically sexy and confident presence both online and offline. 'I've been photographing nude or in lingerie since 1992, way before Instagram,' she says. 'So for me, it's nothing new. For the past 15 years, other people are now doing what I've been doing for 30 years. Instead of being in my little bottoms in a magazine, I'm on Instagram. It's the same thing.' And she has no plans to tone things down. 'For me to be older, it doesn't matter. I don't have this age-shaming or body-shaming thing. I feel like everyone should do what they want to do. I like to run around sexy — even now at 52.' That's been especially evident this summer, as Klum has been island-hopping in bikinis alongside Kaulitz. She's also vocal about challenging outdated ideas about aging. 'The biggest misconception [about] being in your 50s is that you are off the shelf. You're not off the shelf,' she said. 'We are very much on that shelf for everyone to see. Don't hide in your 50s. Beauty is ever-changing, and I'm here for the change. If it's always the same, life is boring.' Having risen to fame in the 1990s, when heroin chic was popular, Klum appreciates the evolving standards of today. 'Now it's okay to be older — but it didn't use to be like that,' she said. 'I feel like we're more welcoming of wrinkles and rolls on our body. Being accepted at every age is amazing. That we've changed and come all that way.' Still, she embraces modern cosmetic options, too. 'I'm all for Botox,' she declared, noting she's intrigued by celebrities opening up about their procedures. 'Whoever wants to talk about [plastic surgery] and wants to share, give me all the numbers.' Looking ahead, Klum welcomes the journey of aging — gray hair, laugh lines, and all. 'Don't we all want to get old? I know we always say that, but it's the truth. I'm already looking at 60 and 70, hopefully 80 and 90. And if we're still kicking it then, let's celebrate,' she concluded.

"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" holds its lead atop the box office
Marvel 's first family stumbled in theaters in its second weekend, but still held on to the top spot at the box office. 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' earned $40 million from 4,125 North American theaters, a 66% drop from a healthy $117.6 million debut. The film was accompanied by comedies 'The Bad Guys 2' and 'The Naked Gun" in the top three box office rankings. The superhero movie dipped significantly more than Marvel's previous film, ' Thunderbolts,' which took a 55% dive in its second weekend. 'First Steps' is the last major blockbuster of the summer. It added nearly $40 million internationally in its second weekend, bringing thefilm's global total to $369 million. The movie's box office drop off was surprising given its strong reviews, said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst for the data firm Comscore. Though the movie's debut weekend may have given box office results a strong push toward the $4 billion summer benchmark, August is off to a slow start, he said. 'It's a tough lift, but we might be able to get there. It really means that all the films are gonna have to stand on their own,' Dergarabedian said. 'It's gonna be about getting great reviews, having that staying power, that longevity in the marketplace.' Newcomer comedy 'The Bad Guys 2' earned second place at the box office this weekend, with $22 million from 3,852 North American theaters. That was on par with projections and also in line with the first movie in the series, which brought in $23 million in 2022. Paramount's slapstick comedy, 'The Naked Gun,' also in its debut weekend, snagged the third box office spot, earning $17 million from 3,344 locations. Jim Orr, president of domestic distribution for Universal Pictures, said the solid debut for 'The Bad Guys 2,' coupled with strong audience reaction scores, 'should point to a very long, very successful run through not only the rest of the summer, but really, I think into the fall." James Gunn's 'Superman,' which opened four weekends ago and already crossed $550 million globally, earned $13.8 million domestically this weekend, taking the fourth spot. 'Jurassic World Rebirth' followed with $8.7 million. The horror movie 'Together' had a strong debut weekend, coming in at sixth place and earning $6.8 million domestically, proof that August is a month for edgier and off-beat films, Dergarabedian said. 'That's what this month is about. It's not just about box office," Dergarabedian said. "It's also about providing really interesting, rewarding movie-going experiences for audiences.' Dergarabedian said he expects highly-anticipated movies hitting theaters in the next few weeks — including 'Freakier Friday,' and Zach Cregger's horror movie 'Weapons' — to give August a needed boost. The box office is currently up 9.5% from last year. Top 10 movies by domestic box office With final domestic figures being released Monday, this list factors in the estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Comscore: 1. 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps," $40 million. 2. 'The Bad Guys 2,' $22.2 million. 3. 'The Naked Gun,' $17 million. 4. 'Superman,' $13.8 million. 5. 'Jurassic World Rebirth,' $8.7 million. 6. 'Together,' $6.8 million. 7. 'F1: The Movie,' $4.1 million. 8. 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,' $2.7 million. 9. 'Smurfs,' $1.8 million. 10. 'How to Train Your Dragon,' $1.4 million.

Liam Neeson's former sister-in-law Joely Richardson APPROVES of his new romance with bombshell Pamela Anderson - 16 years after his late wife's tragic death
Joely Richardson has approved of Liam Neeson 's new romance with bombshell Pamela Anderson. The actress, 60, made a subtle nod to the new showbiz couple as the Taken actor, 73, announced to the world he has moved on following his late wife Natasha's death 16 years ago. Joely is the younger sister of The Parent Trap actress Natasha - who tragically fell to her death at the age of 45 following a skiing accident. Liam and Natasha were married for 15 years and shared two sons - Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 28 - together. Since her sudden death, Liam has only dated once, and was previously with PR executive Freya St. Johnston for two years. Following their split, he stayed single for 13 years, until recently announcing he is in a relationship with the Baywatch star, 58. The couple star in new comedy Naked Gun together, and it seems their romance has flourished from there. In an Instagram post which featured Liam, Pamela wrote: 'The Naked Gun is finally in theatres! Bring your friends, lovers… whoever… just go and have a laugh… it's good for you! I'll see you there.' Beneath the snaps, Joely commented a string of red hearts. More than 750 Instagram users have liked Joely's reaction and a few people left comments. It comes after Pamela revealed how she impressed the veteran Irish star by bringing homemade sourdough bread and muffins to The Naked Gun set. The actress is best known for her sexy role on Baywatch but she is also an accomplished chef with a cookbook to her name. Her plant-based I Love You: Recipes From The Heart was nominated for a 2025 James Beard Award. The pair worked together for the first time on the action comedy - a revival of the franchise which originally starred Leslie Nielsen - and Pamela admitted she was nervous when they first met. But they forged a close friendship and she was soon bringing him baked goods to snack on during breaks. During a SiriusXM Town Hall event in New York City on Wednesday, Pamela said: '[I was] nervous to meet [Liam], of course and you're always nervous the first day on the set... 'I brought sourdough bread to Liam and cookies and muffins and it kept me busy. Kept me outta trouble... It's a very special [muffin] recipe. It's very good for you. Let's just say that.' Liam added that Pamela's sourdough was 'phenomenal' and the muffins featured 'a lot of bran'.
