Fahadh Faasil uses a 17 year old non-smartphone that cost at least Rs 5 lakh when it was launched, no longer in production. Watch
It's no secret that Fahadh Faasil likes to stay away from social media, and does not own a smartphone. Both he and his colleagues have often spoken about his tenuous relationship with technology. In fact, actor Vinay Forrt recently revealed that Fahadh uses a 'basic phone that is not sophisticated at all.' Now, a video has gone viral showing Fahadh using his mobile phone, and just as Vinay said, it's far from 'smart'; but perhaps even more fascinating. While attending the puja ceremony of director Abhinav Sunder's Naslen-starrer Mollywood Times, Fahadh was spotted speaking on a phone — a rare sight that immediately drew the attention of media persons present. As the clip surfaced online, eagle-eyed and tech-savvy fans were stunned to see that Fahadh was using a keypad phone. And it wasn't just any ordinary feature phone. It was an ultra-luxury device that reportedly cost around Rs 5 lakh when it was first released nearly two decades ago. A post shared by Effin M (@chronograph_2022) According to a clip posted on his Instagram handle by content creator Effin M, known for doing videos about the gadgets and apparel used by celebrities, the phone Fahadh uses is a Vertu Ascent Ti. First announced in 2007 and released in 2008, the model is no longer in production. One of its standout features is its premium construction. The phone is crafted using titanium, sapphire crystals and hand-stitched leather. At the time of its launch, it was priced at Rs 5.54 lakh. While it's since been discontinued, Effin said that the device may still be found on pre-owned websites for Rs 1–1.5 lakh. Meanwhile, a report by Hindustan Times speculated that Fahadh may have been using the Vertu Ascent Retro Classic Keypad Phone, which costs $11,920 (around Rs 10.2 lakh). It is currently listed as out of stock on Vertu's official website. Known for living off the radar, Fahadh Faasil is widely regarded as one of the finest actors in India today. Following a stellar 2024 during which he delivered notable movies like Aavesham, Vettaiyan, Bougainvillea and Pushpa 2: The Rule, Fahadh is now gearing up for his first release of 2025, Maareesan, in which he reunites with his Maamannan (2023) co-star Vadivelu. The movie is scheduled to hit screens on July 25.

'Shameful': Pakistan Flag On Sets Of Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar Leaves Netizens Angry
Last Updated: It should be noted that Dhurandhar is based on true events. Rumours suggested that Ranveer Singh will be seen playing the role of Ajit Doval in this movie. Ranveer Singh is currently working on his next movie, Dhurandhar. Recently, a photo of the actor from the sets of the film went viral on social media, but grabbed everyone's attention for all the wrong reasons. Netizens noticed that a Pakistani flag was clearly visible in the background. While it remains unclear why a Pakistani flag was seen on the sets of Dhurandhar, the viral photo has already left many disappointed and angry. 'Pakistan ka flag kyu lagya? Who permitted for it? Shamefully act," one of the users wrote. 'Bollywood has lost it completely," added another. It should be noted that Dhurandhar is based on true events. Even though details about the film's plot are not known as of now, rumours suggest that Singh will be seen playing the role of Ajit Doval. Reportedly, the film will present the bravery of India's special agents in Pakistan. Therefore, it might be because of this that a Pakistani flag was seen on the sets of the film. Meanwhile, the makers of Dhurandhar released the film's first look teaser earlier this month. It presented Ranveer Singh in long hair and a smoke in his mouth, killing and beating in style. With upbeat music in the backdrop, the teaser offers a glimpse into the violence and gore in store. Apart from Ranveer, makers also dropped first looks of the film's other leading cast, comprising Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna. Arjun Rampal, who is one of the key characters in the film, looked intriguing in a never-seen-before rugged avatar, sporting a golden tooth, vintage metallic shades, dense grey beard and classic raw expressions. The film's leading leady, Tamil actor Sara Arjun, was also introduced. Presented by Jio Studios, a B62 Studios production, Dhurandhar is written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, along with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar. The film uncovers the untold saga of the origins of the unknown men. Dhurandhar will hit theatres on December 5, 2025. A woman named Chalthanzawna Fanu, has gone viral for singing Bob Dylan's Everything Is Broken at a Shillong brewery while wearing ethnic attire. Her raw voice and electrifying stage presence stunned the internet. (Screenshots: Instagram/@chali_evenflow ) At a bustling brewery in Shillong, something extraordinary happened that the internet isn't ready to forget anytime soon. Amid the dim lights, clinking glasses, and laid-back vibes of The Yeastern Civilization—a popular brewery in Meghalaya's capital—a voice cut through the air with a powerful resonance. Dressed in traditional attire and channeling raw emotion, Chalthanzawna Fanu , known by her Instagram handle @chali_evenflow, delivered a soul-stirring rendition of Bob Dylan's Everything Is Broken , and the world took notice. The performance didn't just stop at being good—it hit that rare sweet spot of authenticity and energy that turns ordinary moments into viral sensations. As videos of the performance began circulating online, netizens flooded the internet with praise, calling it 'real Blues Pipes' and comparing Fanu's vocal prowess to legendary singers like Koko Taylor. But what truly struck a chord was not just her voice, but her proud presence on stage—singing a Western classic while dressed in her traditional Mizo attire, weaving together culture, confidence, and charisma into a performance that felt both global and rooted. According to her Instagram bio, Fanu is a member of the Evenflow Band from Aizawl, Mizoram. Specialising in Blues, the band brings a unique northeastern flavour to the genre, which often evokes stories of hardship, grit, and soul-searching—something Fanu captured effortlessly in her performance. In a region known for its rich musical heritage and deep love for live gigs, the scene at the brewery was electric. Her voice, filled with texture and passion, transformed the room. What began as an evening performance soon turned into an internet event, with the video going viral across platforms. Social media exploded with comments celebrating not just her talent, but also the message her presence conveyed. 'So good! And so much talent out there in the North East,' one user wrote. Another added, 'What makes me feel more proud is she wore her pride, her culture ❤️.' Others were simply struck by her vocal strength. 'The stage is her comfort zone,' one fan commented, while another wrote, 'Now these are the real Blues Pipes.' One listener summed it up perfectly: 'By listening to her sing, I got an adrenaline rush in my blood veins.' In a digital world often saturated with over-produced performances and viral trends manufactured for attention, Fanu's moment stood out for its unfiltered emotion and the striking harmony between tradition and modernity. It's not every day that a performance at a local brewery transcends into a cultural statement. But when it does, it's worth celebrating.
