Selena Gomez References ‘Past' Failed Romances on New Song With Fiance Benny Blanco

Yahoo14-02-2025
Selena Gomez made a subtle reference to her former relationships in her and fiancé Benny Blanco's new song 'Scared of Loving You.'
'If I broke your heart / Would you take me back? / If I broke my arm / Would you sign my cast?' Gomez, 32, sang in the first verse of the track that dropped on Thursday, February 13. 'When I was young / I would love too fast / Hope I don't repeat my past.'
Before finding love with Blanco, Gomez was romantically linked to several A-listers over the years. The singer dated Nick Jonas when they were both Disney Channel stars. She also had a short-lived romance with The Weeknd. Gomez was famously in an on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber from 2011 to 2018. The pair called it quits for good months before Bieber wed wife Hailey Bieber.
While Gomez admitted on her new song that she was nervous about making the same mistakes in her new romance, she shared that this time something felt different.

'Cause I'm not scared of loving you / I'm just scared of losing you,' Gomez sang on the ballad's chorus. 'I'm not scared of anyone / Or dying young / Or if you're gonna find somebody new / Because how could they love you as much as I do.'
Gomez announced that she and Blanco, 36, were releasing an album together.
'I always trick you guys 🥰 my NEW album I Said I Love You First with my best friend @itsbennyblanco, is out on 3/21 🖤,' she wrote via Instagram alongside the album's artwork that featured the couple. 'Our first song, 'Scared of Loving You' is out now on all streaming platforms. Merchandise and signed products for the album are available for pre-order now. We can't wait to share this special project with you soon!'
The post included a series of snaps of Gomez and Blanco. One photo — which also serves as the cover art for 'Scared of Loving You' — featured a glimpse from a keyhole peeping in on the pair as they sat on a bed together. An additional snap included another angle from the bed scene. Gomez's head is turned toward the camera as she remains in a tabletop position. Blanco, for his part, is staring lovingly at his fiancée.
Blanco and Gomez confirmed they were dating in December 2023 after being friends for years. Before their relationship turned romantic, the pair collaborated in the studio on several hit songs including 'Same Old Love,' 'Kill Em With Kindness' and more.

One year after they went public with their romance, the couple got engaged.
'Forever begins now,' Gomez captioned a December 2024 Instagram post, that showed off her engagement ring. Blanco celebrated the milestone moment, writing in the comments section, 'Hey wait… that's my wife.'
Last month, Blanco and Gomez hinted they were working on a project together. When asked by a fan to 'make some new songs for our queen' on social media, the record producer created a TikTok that featured Gomez adjusting a microphone as she sat on a couch. In the video, she smiled as Blanco approached and playfully said, 'Hi.'

Bravo's Terry and Heather Dubrow dump Beverly Hills ‘dream house' turned nightmare for $16.5M — millions below original ask

Terry and Heather Dubrow walked away from their Beverly Hills 'dream house' — just two years after they bought it. The reality TV stars of Bravo's 'Real Housewives of Orange County' and 'Botched' parted with the hilltop home for $16.5 million on Monday, TMZ reported — after putting it on the market for $25 million in March. The couple tapped colleagues Josh Flagg of Compass and Josh Altman of Douglas Elliman, both cast members on Bravo's 'Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles,' to take on the listing. 10 Terry and Heather Dubrow. Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock The deeply discounted deal ended a series of renovation nightmares for the couple. Heather Dubrow once dubbed the 9,000-square-foot property 'The Dubrow dream house,' after shelling out $16.1 million for the secluded spread in 2023. Reportedly disastrous, multi-million dollar renovation efforts and the discovery of toxic asbestos on site appear to have soured the family on the property, however. Their homeownership headaches were chronicled in the most recent season of the 'Real Housewives of Orange County.' 10 The home's massive terrace boasts city skyline and ocean views. 'But the more I think about this house, the more I realize how not viable it truly is for our family,' she said. Despite a streak of bad luck, the newly overhauled home has a lot to recommend itself to the new owner. 10 A sitting area with mountain views. Christopher Amitrano | cs8photo 10 The dining room. The 6.13-acre lot includes a pool, a spa and a full-sized tennis court. Inside, the secluded sanctuary features dual sweeping staircases, soaring ceilings and modern finishes. The home got a fresh coat of white paint and new floors before hitting the market in March, according to Bravo. The listing price fell to $19.99 million before it found finding its new owner, identified by TMZ as a foreign buyer who backed out of a deal for the same property in 2023, before the Dubrows swooped in. The reunion was made possible after the buyer spotted an Instagram post, and reached out to Flagg.

Newsweek reached out to Fallon's representative via email for comment on Wednesday. Why It Matters Swift is the world's richest female musician, per Forbes, with a net worth of $1.6 billion. The 35-year-old wrapped her record-breaking Eras Tour in December, which was the highest-grossing concert tour in history. Xavi Torrent/TAS24/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management What To Know On August 12, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon shared a segment of Swift's 2021 interview on their official Instagram and TikTok accounts. In the clip, she tells host Jimmy Fallon that she has "fun" teasing her fans, affectionately known as Swifties. "I started to realize that it wasn't just me that had fun with this, that they had fun with it too, and I should never have learned that because then I couldn't stop," Swift said. "And then all I started thinking was, 'How do I hint at things?' Like, 'How far is too far in advance? Can I hint at something three years in advance? Can I even plan things out that far? I think I'm going to try to do it!'" Swift added: "The first time we did a crazy video like that was a video called 'Look What You Made Me Do,' and I started playing with doing nods to former musical eras I've been in in my career and all kinds of weird stuff for them to just go through the video and be like, 'That over there! What's that? What's that? What's that? Does this connect to that? What does that mean?'" "I do that!" Fallon said, to which she replied, "Really?" "Yes! I did that with Folklore," he shared. "I think that it is perfectly reasonable for people to be normal music fans and to have a normal relationship to music, but if you want to go down a rabbit hole with us, come along," Swift said. "The water's great, jump in. We're all mad here." At the time of publication, The Tonight Show's Instagram post racked up 3.1 million views and 167,000 likes. On TikTok, it had an additional 1.5 million views and 212,600 likes. The "Cruel Summer" artist is known for plotting Easter eggs, or hidden messages, in her music videos, lyrics, clothing and more. For The Life of a Showgirl, fans pointed out many of these Easter eggs online. On August 12, 2024, exactly one year before Swift's album announcement, she was photographed in an orange and mint green miniskirt and cropped jacket—which matches the color palette of the album, X user @CourtneySong_ shared on the social media platform. In October, the 14-time Grammy Award winner posted a video to her Instagram and TikTok standing in front of section A12 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. X user @corneliastagain called her "diabolical" for the move, which seemingly hinted at the August 12th announcement for her 12th studio album. As Swiftie @lexs_version said: "TS12 was basically slapping us in the face, [and] we had no idea." What People Are Saying In the comments underneath The Tonight Show's Instagram post, fans praised Swift's creativity. @sashatheunicornmom wrote in a note with 5,525 likes: "Love her or hate her she's a creative genius. Kelly Clarkson Wanted Her Kids to Have ‘Best Relationship Possible' With Late Ex After ‘Messy' Divorce

Kelly Clarkson worked hard to foster a relationship between her children and their father after their tumultuous split. The 'Stronger' singer, 43, who shares kids River, 11, and Remington, 9, with her late ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, 'always wanted her kids to have the best relationship possible' with him, a source told People. While their 2022 divorce was 'messy,' 'painful' and overall 'incredibly difficult' for her, the source said that she 'never spoke poorly' about her ex to their children. 'When she found out that he was sick, she remained protective of him for their sake,' continued the source. 'Kelly has always tried to keep things classy. It became clear earlier this year that Brandon was not doing well. She's been devastated for the kids.' As Star previously reported, the talent manager passed away on Thursday, August 7, after a three-year battle with melanoma. He was 48. Prior to his passing, Clarkson postponed the remainder of her August shows for her Las Vegas residency. 'While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,' she shared via Instagram on August 6. 'I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.' Solve the daily Crossword
