Woman Says She's Started Moving on After Her Ex-Husband Left Her for Someone Else. Now, He Wants to Come Back

Yahoo15-06-2025
A woman sought advice on the U.K.-based community forum Mumsnet, sharing that she had just begun to move on after her ex-husband left her for another woman — but now he wants to come back
"I was wrecked but got on with it because I had to," she wrote of the breakup
Readers overwhelmingly advised the woman to not entertain the idea of reconciling with her exA woman is unsure if she should take her husband back — months after he left her for someone else.
She detailed her dilemma in a post on the U.K.-based community forum Mumsnet, beginning by explaining that her ex left her in February. He "said 'he wasn't happy' and 'needed time to figure himself out,' which basically meant he'd been seeing someone else," the OP (original poster) wrote.
After he walked out, she was left to pick up the pieces at home.
'He moved in with her sharpish, left me with two kids under 6 and a mortgage to deal with. I was wrecked but got on with it because I had to," she wrote.
Just as she had begun to move on with her life, her mother-in-law called to tell her that her ex had been hospitalized after an incident at a bar.

'He got into it with some bloke outside a pub who was kicking off at his new girlfriend. Tried to break it up and got badly hurt,' the OP said.
She took their kids to see him in the hospital. While she was relieved that he seemed OK, she was surprised to learn that he had a change of heart about being with her.
'It was honestly surreal. He looked at me like he hadn't seen me in years. Got emotional, said he's been stupid, wants to come home, wants his family back,' the OP recalled.
She said her mother-in-law 'is acting like I should just forgive and forget,' and sending messages that he is still the father of their kids and not to do anything hasty. But the OP insisted she was not eager to get back together with her ex as she's just beginning to heal from how the relationship ended.
'I'm not sure I even want him back," she explained. "I've only just stopped crying every night. I've started sorting myself out again and even been chatting to someone new. Nothing serious, but he's kind and makes me laugh. Ex hasn't even apologized properly for what he put me through.'
The woman said she's struggling to forget all the hurt that led to this point.
'I keep thinking about how quick he left. And now he's lying in a hospital bed feeling sorry for himself and suddenly remembers he had a family? It's all a bit too convenient," she wrote.
In the comments section of her post, most readers had the same take on the situation, urging the OP to continue moving forward and not entertain her ex's request to reconcile.
'Say NO,' one person wrote. 'He showed you who he is. You're rebuilding your life. Keep going! Best off without him!'
'Absolutely not!" another agreed. "He's done it once and if you forgive him he'll do it again. He made his bed, now he can lie in it."

One commenter suggested that she remain civil for the sake of their children and let her ex's "meddling" mom handle the rest.
'Support him (if you wish) for the sake of the kids, but never take him back. He can move in with his mum if she wants him,' they wrote.

Ex-Liverpool star Andy Carroll dumps girlfriend Lou Teasdale after growing 'sick' of her 'demands & influencer lifestyle' two months on from being quizzed by police over holiday rows

Carroll splits with girlfriend Couple have had problems recently Striker back in England with Dagenham & Redbridge Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? The 36-year-old was quizzed twice by Greek police in June after bust-ups with Teasdale on holiday. The pair had been dating since Carroll split with former partner Billi Mucklow and had been tipped to get married. However, it now appears their romance is all over, with Carroll struggling to cope with Teasdale's influencer lifestyle. WHAT HAS BEEN SAID A source told The Sun: "Andy got sick of Lou's demands and her influencer lifestyle. She's always posting on social media and he hates that. He told her it was over this week. He's single now." One of Carroll's friends also told the tabloid: "Andy and Lou have been having massive rows for a while. It's been a tough time and now he's back in the UK, he just wants to focus on football and his kids. He hates the influencer lifestyle. He has no interest in posing for loved-up pics. He's most happy spending time with his children and kicking a ball around. Money and fame means nothing to him these days. It was clearly causing issues between them." THE GOSSIP Carroll is back in the UK after two years in France with Bordeaux. The striker has made the shock move to Dagenham & Redbridge, joking that his kids though he was "signing for Chelsea". Carroll was said to be eager to head back to England for family reasons and has also taken a shareholder role at the club following a recent takeover from a Qatari investment consortium. WHAT NEXT FOR CARROLL? Carroll endured a humiliating 5-1 defeat on his debut for Dagenham & Redbridge, and has since been laid low with a hamstring injury. He will play no part when the team returns to action on Saturday against Salisbury in the National League.

Vanessa Feltz shares the truth behind Naga Munchetty's 'diva-like behaviour' amid 'bullying' probe

Vanessa Feltz has spoken out over claims Naga Munchetty has been 'rude' to younger members of staff. In June, the BBC Breakfast presenter, 50, was accused of 'bullying' a female colleague and making an off-air sex joke. Last week, it was alleged that Munchetty scolded an intern for the way they spread Marmite on her toast at the BBC's flagship morning show. Feltz has now defended the fellow TV journalist and urged critics to understand the pressures of live television. 'Before judging Naga for any diva-like behaviour, consider the demands of live early morning TV. There's no time for politeness,' the Celebs Go Dating star wrote in her Daily Express column. 'With no ad breaks, BBC presenters, who have been up since 3am, have to swallow snacks at speed while producers bark directions in their earpieces and hair and makeup staff descend to touch-up.' Feltz went on: 'A swift, mildly rattled 'could you go easy on the Marmite?' might sound hostile to an inexperienced intern, but the chances are it's not meant to be anything but short sharp communication from someone harangued and hungry.' Last week, The Sun claimed Munchetty was irate with an intern over how they prepared her toast. A source added to the Daily Mail: 'She's an absolute nightmare. She has a reputation for going at young members of staff and making them out to be fools.' The Standard has contacted Munchetty's representative for comment. The BBC said: 'While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously.' Munchetty usually presents BBC Breakfast alongside co-star Charlie Stayt, 63, every Thursday to Saturday, while Jon Kay, 55, and Sally Nugent, 54, host at the beginning of the week. Munchetty and Stayt are being assessed and are under review after concerns were raised about their behaviour behind the scenes, according to a report from The Sun last week. An external HR adviser from consultancy firm PwC has reportedly been working with the BBC to examine workplace culture on the long-running programme. A source told the outlet: 'A number of people have come forward to share their experiences with Charlie, so the BBC has officially moved to place the complaints under review. 'Charlie and Naga will be assessed separately.' Staff are said to have raised concerns about 'rudeness', 'bullying', and conduct that allegedly undermined team members. It comes after BBC Breakfast editor Richard Frediani stepped away from his role for an extended period following a series of bullying allegations. Munchetty, who joined the show in 2014, has reportedly been spoken to by bosses over two separate incidents in a three-year period. The Radio 5 Live presenter was allegedly spoken to by senior BBC figures after reportedly making a sex-related remark during her radio show. It's claimed she used a crude slang term and asked a colleague whether they had ever performed the act in question. Last month, it was reported that she is weighing up her future at the BBC, despite receiving a £10,000 pay rise and remaining one of the broadcaster's top-paid stars. It was alleged that she is said to be considering a move to rival station LBC due to the recent alleged internal controversies. Solve the daily Crossword
