Tom Brady feels NIL is creating ‘messed up' values for NFL rookies
The seven-time Super Bowl champion, now in his first year as a FOX NFL analyst, during an appearance on The Joel Klatt Show, shared, 'Their frontal lobes aren't even fully developed yet, and now we're tempting them with real-life, adult situations and their parents, and now they have agents.'
Since NIL rights came into effect in July 2021, college athletes have been able to profit from endorsements, sponsorships, and other commercial opportunities. For some, the earnings can surpass what they would make on a standard NFL rookie contract.

'I'm sure it's a very confusing time, and I'm sure a lot of parents are confused. I'm sure a lot of kids are confused, but because we're just talking about money, money, money, money, like, that's the only value in college. Is that what we're saying? That, to me, the priorities are a bit messed up,' Brady said.
'We're valuing the wrong things. I'm not saying it's not important. It's one of 10 things that are important, and certainly to me, it's not the most important.'
'So when kids do go through that the right way, they're actually learning the right values. When you have the right values in life, that's going to sustain you as you move on through the rest of your life,' he continued.

During the talk show, the seven-time Super Bowl champion credited his time at the University of Michigan, where he played from 1995 to 1999, before NIL rights existed. 'My college experience was very challenging. It was very competitive. Those traits transformed my life as a professional,' he said.

"The plan was always to give both of those guys starts in the preseason, so we'll see how it shakes out," Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said on Wednesday, adding Gabriel had to clear hurdles with a sore hamstring the next two days if he wants to take the field first this weekend. Stefanski made the comments before the team practiced on Wednesday, and prior to what could be an obstacle to Sanders building on his first outing and claiming a significant role. Sanders halted participation in throwing drills and appeared to be injured in Wednesday's joint practice with the Eagles, further complicating matters for Stefanski. The coach confirmed after practice to ESPN that Sanders' injury was related to discomfort in his oblique. Kenny Pickett, acquired from the Eagles in an offseason trade, is not available for 11-on-11 work because of a hamstring injury. There's only one quarterback on the roster who hasn't been sent to the training tent this summer. Cleveland hasn't committed to playing Joe Flacco, the purported No. 1 QB on the depth chart, in preseason games to preserve the 40-year-old's health. Chop Robinson injury update: Dolphins star shares 5-word message for fans amid practice scare
Chop Robinson seems to be up and ok. The Miami Dolphins edge rusher was carted off during Wednesday's joint practice with the Detroit Lions. According to the Palm Beach Post, the 22-year-old was attended by defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver and fellow edge rusher Jaelan Phillips before the cart arrived. The rookie was hurt when he forced a fumble by Lions running back David Montgomery. Coach Mike McDaniel said afterward that Mattison had some soreness in his neck and shoulder. First-round pick Chop Robinson, taken 21st overall in last year's NFL Draft, had a quiet start to his rookie campaign but finished with a flourish. The Penn State edge rusher notched six sacks over Miami's final 10 games, earning enough attention to place fifth in the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year voting.
