Beyond The Gates Recap: Jacob Questions Nicole About Strangling Leslie
On today's Beyond The Gates:
Nicole's Pad: Nicole is chatting on the phone with Dani when Kat walks in to vent about Eva. Nicole shifts and wants to discuss a serious family matter. Just then, Jacob walks in and says he has police business with Nicole. He says there has been a report of assault against Nicole by Leslie at Orphey Gene's. Nicole admits she and Leslie had words and then 'scuffled' but says they are both equally responsible for the skirmish. Jacob says Leslie has contusions on her neck and asks if Nicole tried to 'choke her to death.' A flustered Nicole says she wishes she had succeeded, which stuns Kat.
Kat tries to run interference for her mother and Nicole says she barely touched Leslie. Jacob asks for witnesses and Nicole notes Ted walked in on it and there were plenty of folks in the restaurant. Kat decides to find Eva and get her mother to back off but she says she's not at work. Nicole is ready for Jacob to take her in but he says he's not ready to go that far just yet. With that, he exits.
Kat asks what her mother wanted to talk about before Jacob came in but Nicole says it's going to have to wait. With that, she exits.
Hotel – Ted's Room: Ted is yelling at Bill about their dead Kenneth problem. He hangs up when Leslie arrives at his door. She walks past him and thanks Ted for driving her home after Nicole tried to strangle her. Leslie pulls a scarf aside and shows red marks on her neck. Ted didn't realize Nicole got a hold of her neck in such a way to cause those marks (Is Ted this daft?). He tries to calm down her dramatics and opens the door for her to leave. Leslie mentions the accreditation issue at the office and says Eva was quite upset. Ted says it's all been settled. Leslie figured Eva would find a way out of Kat's trap. A surprised Ted shuts the door as he wants details. Leslie thinks he should ask Eva.
Ted can't believe Eva wouldn't rat out Kat as the two are always at odds. Leslie says Eva denied it to her, as well, but she knows her kid. She thinks Ted should think about which mother/daughter duo is there for him and which one is always on the attack.
Leslie gets all kinds of flirty with Ted who is clearly impacted by her touch. He says it's not going to happen, and she says it's all good as she has to go. Leslie tells her Teddy Bear goodbye and exits.
Orphey Gene's: Eva and Tomas are upset with themselves over their kiss. Tomas notes he really liked the kiss. Eva admits she feels the same but doesn't want to upset Kat's apple cart. He says he knows how Kat treats her. Eva admits she was bad to Kat at the beginning but no longer. For some reason, Tomas decides it's a good idea to tell Eva about not having sex with Kat.
Eva and Tomas take a seat at a table so she can get the skinny on the no sex situation. Eva is stunned to learn Kat is a virgin. She thinks it's so old fashioned for someone so seemingly worldly. Tomas asks she not repeat the information and Eva promises. He continues to spill and tells Eva about the night he turned her down for sex. He thought the whole thing felt forced and felt a lot of pressure. Eva thinks it's always better to communicate for the sake of clarity.
Tomas thanks her for being easy to talk to. He admits he feels a little guilty about their kiss but doesn't quite know where he and Kat stand. Eva admits she doesn't have this kind of energy with anyone else. Tomas wants them to keep getting to know each other and takes her hand.
Garland Memorial Hospital – Exam Room: Madison listens at the door as Chelsea tells Allison she needs to leave her husband. Allison defends Craig a bit and says he has all kinds of good quality and doesn't get physical all the time. Chelsea says it's never ok for Craig to ever lay hands on her. Allison shifts to telling Chelsea how grateful she is for her help and thinks it proves their connection. Chelsea says she would help anyone who needed that kind of assistance. She mentions calling Bill to find out Allison's options but she shuts her down. Allison loses her cool and tells Chelsea to go.
Chelsea runs into Madison in the lobby. Madison thinks Allison is possibly making up the allegations of her husband's abuse. She notes Allison's timing is coincidental as it coincides with wanting Chelsea back. She thinks Chelsea should put two and two together. Madison thinks there is something very off with Chelsea.

Chelsea returns to Allison's room after getting her text. Allison apologizes saying she doesn't actually want to drop her husband into the legal system. She says she will be ok. Chelsea says she was only trying to help and says, once again, she should leave her husband. She wishes Allison well but can't be a part of getting her help moving forward and won't be back to visit. Chelsea asks her not to reach out to her again as their interactions have been very strange and are hurting her relationship with Madison. With that, she exits.
Tomas and Eva can't believe how long they have been talking. Eva says she's going back to her place and Tomas asks if he can join.
Jacob arrives to see Ted who clearly thinks he's there to arrest him for some role in the Martin/dead Kenneth debacle. Jacob then asks about what he saw when Nicole and Leslie go at it. Ted inquires and Jacob specifically asks if he saw Nicole choke Leslie. Ted says he can't implicate Nicole when he's trying to save his marriage. Jacob asks if he is refusing to make a statement and Ted confirms.
Nicole arrives to see Leslie and walks right in and wants to see Leslie's contusions. She pulls the scarf back and Nicole immediately discovers her bruises are simply purple eye shadow. Leslie giggles a bit and says she has pictures of her injuries for court. Nicole says her plan is doomed to be a failure. Leslie says there is always another plan as there is always a next time. Nicole looks forward to it and makes her exit.

Beyond The Gates Recap: Kat Goes All The Way With Tomas originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Beyond The Gates recap: Fairmont Country Club: Nicole and Dani run into each other. Nicole catches her up on Leslie's assault claim which Jacob made go away. Dani can't believe her prim and proper older sister laid hands on Leslie up in the middle of Orphey Gene's. Nicole isn't proud of her actions but Dani is thrilled and wishes she saw this side of her sister growing up. Nicole follows up saying she laid into Bill the night before but thinks she needs to focus her energy on Martin. She says she is meeting Tyrell and Samantha at the club later to give them some Grandma time. With that, the sisters hug. Tyrell and Samantha arrive and Nicole tells them how much Martin misses them. Nicole wants to make sure they feel supported in this unfortunate time. Samantha says she and Tyrell want to talk their dad into letting their pop move back home. Nicole says their parents have a lot to work through. Tyrell wonders if they have all the details. Kat and Chelsea's Place: The duo are discussing their upcoming launch. Kat is clearly beside herself, and Chelsea asks what's up. Kat says it's always Eva and is annoyed 'he' is always about her. Chelsea thinks she's talking about her father, but Kat says it's about Tomas. Kat tells her the story about finding Tomas in Eva's motel room the night before. She isn't sure what it means for her and Tomas. Chelsea thinks Eva isn't in her league and Kat agrees. With that, she calls Tomas. Tomas arrives just as Chelsea exits. He can't believe she called him over and says he didn't sleep with Eva. Kat wants to believe him but needs confirmation. Tomas says he likes Eva and doesn't think she's gotten a fair shake from her family. Kat goes IN on Eva and how she tried to blow up her family's life. She expected more from him and wants to know if he wants Eva more than her. Tomas says Eva is a friend and that's all it is. Tomas says he really doesn't understand Kat's feelings nor where he stands. Kat reminds him about the other night where he walked out when she wanted to sleep with him. She brings up Eva again and Tomas LIES saying he simply wonders if they are together because she likes him or doesn't want Eva to have him. Kat admits her anger got the best of her which keeps her from being honest about her feelings. She admits she is crazy about him but she will not be in a triangle with him and her sister. Tomas says Kat is the only person he wants (LIES!). She is taken by his words and they get all hot and heavy and finally seal the deal. Bill's Law Office: Tomas is outside Bill's door when Hayley approaches and asks if he's off the conference call. Just then, Bill emerges and says Tomas can take over. He greets Hayley and they go into the office. She tries to talk to him but he rushes off before she has a chance. Orphey Gene's: Naomi meets up with June and says how good she looks. June calls for the check as she is all kinds of anxious to leave. June pulls out some cash and pays for lunch. The waitress tries to look at June's picture but is brutally rebuffed. Naomi insists on paying the tip, but June thinks the server is unworthy (Also, what was that monopoly money June handed the waitress?). Naomi asks to take another look at the picture and says the kids are beautiful. She says she is curious about the phone number. Before she can answer, Hayley approaches and June hugs her and makes her exit. Hayley tells Naomi she is worried someone close to both of them may have committed a crime. She asks about Bill and wonders if he killed someone. Naomi thinks she should ask her husband about criminal activity. Hayley tells Naomi about his encounter with Nicole and how she took his head off. She begs Naomi to tell her if her husband is in trouble. Naomi thinks it's not her place to tell Hayley about her father. Hayley thinks her husband isn't a criminal. Naomi says her father is complicated and she has barely scratched the surface. With that, she exits. Jacob arrives and Naomi wants them to get to the bottom of the June issue. Dani's Digs: Pamela arrives to check in with Dani after Martin's presser. Dani avoids commenting and Pamela calls her on it. After a while, she leaves it alone. Dani admits Martin and Smitty are going through an issue but believes they will work it out. Pamela offers her support in anyway she can. Pamela says she has news and shares she's been taking meetings for their company about her. Two different fashion houses want to sign deals to have Dani be the lead model. She says she hasn't committed to anything but if Dani is on board their modeling agency is on the map! Dani can't believe these companies are offering so much money, but Pamela says she is drop dead gorgeous and the agencies want the woman she is now. Pamela reminds Dani she didn't quit modeling because she was too old. She quit because she put a man before her. Dani still isn't certain which is why Pamela called for backup. Just then, Andre walks in. Dani is stunned to see Pamela has set up an entire runway scene in the other room. Andre is ready to take pictures and tries to relax her. With that, Dani locks in and goes full on model. Dani returns and Pamela tells her to take a look at the pictures before making her exit. Andre says the camera loves her. Dani wonders if she should go forward. He doesn't want to make a decision for her but is all kinds of interested in getting all kinds of nekkid. Bill's Law Office: Hayley returns and tells Bill she's frustrated with his lack of transparency. She says she went to Naomi who directed her back to him. She wants to know why Nicole was so mad at him and wonders what's up with the murder insinuation from the night before. Bill says he has to keep details vague and says the 'murder' took place two years ago (LIES!). Hayley says she will shut down her questions because she loves him which is all that should matter. Previous Beyond The Gates Recap: Endings Tyrell tells Nicole details about what happened the last night with pop and dad, which is why he and Samantha think they are being left out. Nicole does her best to smooth the entire situation over without saying anything – which clearly doesn't satisfy her grandchildren. Bill informs Hayley that he can't always tell her the truth but would never commit murder. Hayley knows he is and will do whatever it takes to take care of her and their baby. Tomas kisses up Kat's shoulder in the afterglow of her virgin voyage. He is clearly trying to woo her to round two whilst she looks all kinds of regretful for round one. Owner Rescues a 'Golden Retriever'—Then She Receives DNA Result

A woman who thought she was rescuing a golden retriever puppy was floored when she saw the results of his DNA test and realized that was far from the reality. Earlier this year, Kaylee Leslie, of Virginia, rescued Goose from Lone Star Pawz when he was around 8 weeks old. Since he didn't come from a certified breeder, it was evident to Leslie that his genetic makeup could be a mixed bag. But, as he looked so much like a golden retriever, Leslie told Newsweek that she was "pretty sure he'd at least have a good percentage" of that in his DNA. To test her theory, she recently did a DNA test on Goose, who is now 5 months old, and the results were not what she expected. To look at Goose, you would expect him to be mostly, if not all, golden, but his DNA shows that he is 20 percent German shepherd; 19 percent beagle; and 15 percent chow chow. He just looks so golden, so I think we convinced ourselves that's what a high percentage of him was." The DNA test was a stunning revelation for Leslie, especially as even Goose's vet predicted that he would be about 98 percent golden retriever. Of course, it doesn't change Leslie's feelings toward Goose, and he is still the adorable mischief maker he has always been. It doesn't matter whether he is a golden retriever or not; he is still her lovable rescue pup. "He's an awesome dog, so we didn't care what the results were. But it definitely was a fun surprise and satisfied our curiosity. I think the most-shocking breed was beagle because I just don't see that in him, but the DNA says it's there. All of it is a bit surprising, though, because he just acts like a golden retriever," she continued. Perhaps the one that surprised her the least was chow chow, as Goose has "a mostly dark tongue," which is synonymous with that breed. After learning that her rescue puppy is in fact a "golden deceiver," Leslie shared the results of his DNA test on Reddit (posting as u/Delinquentpigeon). In just a matter of days, the post has gone viral with over 30,000 views and more than 1,000 votes at the time of writing. Leslie said: "Most of the commentators were absolutely floored that he was not a golden retriever. Some even stating that most golden deceivers don't fool them, but he did." Goose has even got his own online account now (@goosethegoldendeceiver on Instagram) as he has become such a social-media sensation. Regardless of his breed, Leslie is delighted that she could give Goose a loving forever home. "Adopting a rescue dog has been such a wonderful experience," Leslie continued. "His amazing rescue, Lone Star Pawz, is a nonprofit in Houston, Texas, and the surrounding counties. Goose made a long journey to us in their transport van, and their team and fosters are absolute angels. We are so happy and thankful we got Goose; he is such a special boy." On today's Beyond The Gates recap: Anita and Vernon's Mansion: Vernon reads the article in the paper about Kenneth's death when Sharon and Tracy arrive. Sharon asks why Anita is ghosting them when she walks in the room. Tracy says they didn't come her to ambush her and Vernon suggests they head into the parlor. He then exits to grab some tea. Sharon immediately goes at Anita, saying she brought them together for a reunion and then dipped the minute things got tense. Tracy tries to get her to calm down but Anita says Sharon is right. She admits she opened the door but they never gave her or their reunion a real chance. Sharon bites the bullet and says they want to proceed with the reunion. After Sharon curtseys, Anita says they clearly don't know her at all. Vernon returns and says he is standing with one of the most successful music groups of all times. He doesn't understand why they are acting like children. They all admit they behaved badly but Anita and Sharon continue to snipe. Tracy jumps in saying she agrees with both women's points. She admits they never gave Anita a chance, which is received well. That being said, Tracy thinks Anita was too used to being in charge. Vernon asks what made The Articulettes so special. Garland Memorial Hospital – Lobby: Shanice sweet talks Derek on the phone when Ashley approaches. She quickly hangs up and starts to get into it with Ashley when Dr. Montgomery arrives. She talks to Ashley about a nice catch with a patient. Just then, Chelsea walks in with Allison. Madison gets all kinds of snarky with Chelsea asking what happened with 'her girlfriend.' Chelsea tells her to slow her roll saying she brought Allison in because she fell on the sidewalk outside Orphey Gene's. Madison wonders if she saw her fall and clearly believes Chelsea is being manipulated. They go back and forth before Madison walks away to go check on her patient. Garland Memorial Hospital – Exam Room/Outside: Madison arrives to see Allison and says she'll be running some tests. She says to tell Shanice or Ashley if her pain worsens. Just then, Chelsea walks in and then walks out with Madison. She notes they are checking for a concussion. Chelsea tries to make a joke, but Madison is in no mood and walks away to check on her other patients. Chelsea returns and Allison asks to hold her hand to calm her fear of hospitals. Chelsea says 'Dr Montgomery' will take great care of her. Allison says she doesn't have to continue the formalities as she knows Madison and Chelsea are whatever they are. Chelsea says she will talk to her cousin Martin about fixing the sidewalks so other folks don't fall. Allison admits she didn't fall. Orphey Gene's: Tomas and Eva run into each other and get to talking about the book they are reading. He asks about her job and Eva indicates she almost got fired and tells him about the accreditation issues. He is impressed with how she figured out how to handle the situation. Tomas wonders if her problems involve Kat and Eva tells him the story about how her half-sister set her up. He can't believe she would set Eva up like that. Tomas is surprised she didn't rat her out to Ted. Eva says she put her dad through so much, he didn't want to destroy his opinion of Kat. Tomas notes Eva is trying to make up for her mistakes whilst Kat is stuck in a loop of revenge. He says maybe it's good they never… Eva tries to get him to fill in his blank. Previous Beyond The Gates Recap: Endings Dr Montgomery asks Shanice to text her when Allison's test results are in. Ashley approaches Shanice and starts to bring up their earlier conversation. Shanice is too focused on the love triangle between Dr Montgomery, Chelsea and Allison. Ashley doesn't get pulled in and goes back to what she heard Shanice say to Derek about making her jealous. Shanice makes mention about Ashley acting a fool in public about Andre. She doesn't blame her as both men are snacks. That being said, she wants Ashley to back off as her glass house is already cracking. Allison says her husband Craig pushed her so hard she hit her head on the kitchen table. He wanted to take her to the hospital, but she refused to let him touch her. Chelsea asks why she went to Orphey Gene's and not the hospital. Allison grabs her hand and says she was driving straight to her (how did she know?). Just then, Madison returns to the room. Tomas promises Eva not to say anything to Kat about their conversation. She believes she can trust him, and they embrace. After they pull away, they lock eyes and kiss all up in Orphey Gene's in front of God and everybody! Ted thinks Kat is imagining things about Eva because she wants to. Just then, Kat gets a message and needs to go. She hugs her father and exits. Hayley can't believe Bill asked Tomas to spy on Chelsea and Naomi. He says he asked Tomas to keep an ear out with Kat to make sure his kids are still good with him. He says he needs to get something from the conference room and she bristles. Hayley grabs the ultrasound photo and makes a call, saying the person had her worried and will be in touch (a surrogate?).
