Kidman and Bullock are reprising their roles as witches Gillian and Sally Owens in the sequel to the 1998 classicNicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock don't need to stretch their acting skills on the set of Practical Magic 2.
The two stars are reprising their roles as witch sisters Gillian and Sally Owens in the long-awaited sequel to the 1998 classic. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Kidman — who was recently named a global ambassador for Clé de Peau Beauté — revealed that she and Bullock, 61, have such a close bond that they are "like sisters."
"It's insane," she says of their dynamic.
And as all siblings do, the actresses enjoy poking fun at each other. "I can tease her, and she teases me," Kidman, 58, explains, noting, "We're both living in London, very close to each other."
She says the pair can hardly believe they are back in the Practical Magic world again after 27 years.
"We're both like, 'What?' But we were just right back into it," she explains, adding of Bullock, "I adore her and she is so funny and so lovable. And we're just having the best time together."
Kidman also had high praise for others involved in the making of the sequel.
"We have this wonderful female director, Susanne Bier. Warner Bros. is behind the film. And they've been incredibly supportive in making this, going back and then expanding it," she tells PEOPLE.
"And then we have beautiful Joey King, who I've worked with before and who's just lovely," she continues. "So it's a group of amazing, amazing women and some great men who are creating the next phase, the next stage of the witches' life."
Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest are set to reprise their roles as the Owens sisters' aunts, Franny and Jet, respectively. Along with King, new additions to the cast include Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod.
While details about the sequel's plot are being kept under wraps, the 1998 film — based on Alice Hoffman's 1995 book of the same name — follows the Owens sisters, who must use their witchy magic to fight off a curse that kills the men they fall in love with.

'Twenty-five years ago, Sally, Gillian, Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny flew off the pages of Alice Hoffman's beloved novel and into theaters around the world, and we are thrilled to bring the Owens family back to the big screen with Joey, Lee, Maisie, Solly and Xolo joining the next chapter in our story," the filmmaking team behind Practical Magic 2 said in a statement via a press release.
"The enduring affection for these characters has been our inspiration to deliver the next installment in the Owens' story to new fans, and those who've been with us since the beginning," they added.
Last month, Kidman treated fans to a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her and Bullock's first day on set for the new movie, which is set to be released in theaters on Sept. 18, 2026.
She shared a video on Instagram of the pair in character, hugging each other tightly while standing in what appeared to be a cemetery. "The witches are back ✨. Owens sisters' first day on set! #PracticalMagic," she captioned the clip.
In 2019, Today resurfaced a clip of Bullock discussing the original movie with Katie Couric and reflecting on her on-set relationship with Kidman.
'I had such a great time,' the Bird Box star said. 'And the fact is, we don't have anything in common, except for at the dinner table with a bottle of wine, and everything sort of blends together.'
Practical Magic 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on Sept. 18, 2026.

This mom went viral for co-parenting with ChatGPT. Thousands are following her lead

Ask any parent and they'll tell you that the laundry list of daily tasks is relentless. Now, some are turning to a new kind of support system: artificial intelligence. One mom has recently gone viral on TikTok for 'co-parenting' her child with the help of ChatGPT. Lilian Schmidt, a corporate brand strategist based in Zurich, Switzerland, began sharing her AI prompts earlier this year. Since then, she's built a community of over 21,000 followers who swear by her tips for navigating the highs and lows of parenthood. Schmidt has a partner, but with both working full-time, she found herself increasingly burnt out by the mental load of parenting their three-year-old. So she turned to ChatGPT. Whether it's generating imaginative bedtime stories, creating cleaning schedules, offering advice on sleep regressions, or planning meals based on what's in the fridge, the AI helped her offload the logistics of parenting—freeing her up to simply be present with her daughter. 'I feel like I'm cheating at mom life,' she wrote in one post. @heylilianschmidt If this is your vibe, I wanna be friends! 🫶 And if you want this kind of life, but don't know how or where to start – 💬 COMMENT 'life' and I'll give you 7 of my best ChatGPT prompts to get you started! 🫶 #livingourbestlife #motheranddaughter #momlifevibes #sahmtok #toddlermoms #chatgpt #chatgptformoms ♬ As It Was – Harry Styles Parental stress, the U.S. Surgeon General warned earlier this year, is a public health crisis. Parents are consistently more likely than other adults to report high levels of stress, so it's no surprise that many are seeking creative solutions to manage the load. 'Chat gpt is carrying the weight of my family at this point,' another added. @heylilianschmidt HERE'S EXACTLY HOW I GOT HERE👇 This is the version of mom life I used to think was impossible. Valve founder Gabe Newell just purchased a superyacht company

Valve founder Gabe Newell is setting out on a new adventure — and it doesn't involve Half-Life 3. Instead, Newell is acquiring Oceanco, the yacht-building company that's creating his $400 million super ship, as reported earlier by Boat International. In a post about the change, Oceanco says Newell's interest in the brand comes from a 'lifelong fascination with the sea' and 'a deep respect for the people who live and work on it.' Oceanco is based in the Netherlands, and it has changed leadership a few times since its founding in 1987, with private investor Mohammed Al Barwani helming the company for the past 15 years before Newell came along. Along with Newell's 364-foot-long superyacht, Oceanco developed Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' $500 million sailing yacht, Koru, which stretches 417 feet long. It's also behind the Kaos sailing superyacht owned by Walmart heir Nancy Walton Laurie, as well as the Bravo Eugenia, owned by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Newell has a growing fleet of yachts as well, including the Oceanco-built Draak (formerly called the Tranquility) and the Rocinante superyacht, built by German yacht-maker Lürssen. As for what Newell plans to do now that he's the head of a big superyacht builder, Oceanco puts it pretty simply: 'His first decision? Leave the team alone. Seriously. Oceanco has vision and integrity, and a culture that actually works. Gabe doesn't want to fix it, he wants to fuel it.' William & Kate Reportedly Looking into Moving After Rumors Harry & Meghan Are Relocating Back to the UK

Prince William and Kate Middleton may be on the move again three years after relocating from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate. According to The Daily Mail, William and Kate—along with their three kids: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—are looking to move into the 'magnificent gothic revival mansion' of Fort Belvedere, which is 'nestled in a hidden corner of Windsor Great Park' and sits on 59 acres. The 18th-century home also has a tennis court, a private outdoor swimming pool, a rose garden, a greenhouse, private stables, multiple lakes, and three cottages for the Prince and Princess of Wales' staff. The estate was previously inhabited by William's ancestor Edward VIII, who lived in the home after he abdicated the throne to marry Wallis Simpson. More from StyleCaster Kate Middleton's Parents' Futures Revealed Amid Speculation Over What Their Titles Will Be Once She Becomes Queen Charles 'Fuming' Over William & Kate's Plans to Move After His Relationship With Harry Ended Over the Same Reason As for why William and Kate are looking to move, The Daily Mail reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales 'feel they have outgrown Adelaide Cottage' now that their kids are older and 'need something more substantial.' 'This is the perfect new home for them. It has a swimming pool and tennis court, and Charlotte loves playing tennis,' a source said. According to The Daily Mail, a 'move to a more substantial property would mark a new chapter' for William and Kate, especially after spending much of Kate's cancer treatment at Adelaide Cottage in 2024. The Daily Mail also reported that Fort Belvedere is just one of several homes William and Kate are looking into, and that 'no move is imminent.' Previously, there were rumors that William and Kate were interested in moving into the Royal Lodge—the 30-room mansion where Prince Andrew lives with his ex-wife Sarah Feguson—but 'Andrew resisted pressure from King [Charles] to leave.' The Daily Mail also reported that William and Kate considered moving into a wing of Windsor Castle but the area is 'understood to no longer be viable.' Rumors of William and Kate's move also come after reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who moved to the United States in 2019 and now live in Montecito, California, were relocating back to the United Kingdom as Harry repairs his relationship with his father, King Charles. The rumors came after Grant Harrold, former royal butler to King Charles, told Study Dog that Harry is 'quite keen' for his and Meghan's children—Archie and Lilibet—to experience British schooling. 'It's very likely and completely possible,' he said.'If they have their younger education in America, I'm sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education,' he continued. 'But then it depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes.' A source for People, however, debunked the rumors. A source confirmed to the magazine that Harry and Meghan are happy living in and raising their family in California and have no plans to leave. That said, he could be coming back to the U.K. more often if his aides' recent meeting with Charles' staff means anything for their future relationship. 'It was a good first step,' an insider told People in July 2025. 'It is always better to be talking.'
