How to watch the NFL in 2025: Streaming services, exclusive dates
Watching the NFL on television isn't one of them.
The most popular sport in the United States is also among the most confusing to watch, thanks to a myriad of streaming services and exclusive online broadcasts. For those who still have an old-school cable subscription, most games played by the local team can be viewed on local affiliates. Many national games will also be available, but that's not always the case.
Outside of cable, here's a short guide for options on how to watch the NFL this fall:
One of the best ways to stream a lot of the NFL is by subscribing to YouTubeTV and paying for the NFL Sunday Ticket service , though it's relatively pricey at $276 for the full season for new subscribers and more for returners. That arrangement gives viewers their local stations, plus access to many out-of-market games.
YouTube also has exclusive rights to the Sept. 5 game in Brazil between the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. It will be streamed for free.
Other services like Fubo, Hulu + Live TV and DirecTV Stream offer many stations that carry local and national games.
The NFL's in-house service offers live local and prime time regular-season and postseason games. The premium version has some perks, including game replays and access to NFL RedZone.
For Thursday night games, most are offered exclusively through Amazon Prime . The service comes with the company's Prime membership, which runs $14.99 per month.
ESPN's direct-to-consumer package launches on Aug. 21 for about $30 per month. It will provide access to 'Monday Night Football' games, some ABC games and international games. ESPN's recently announced deal with the NFL also should eventually provide some added viewing options .
Peacock offers Sunday night football games broadcast on NBC, a handful of playoff games, and also has exclusive rights to a game on Dec. 27.
Paramount+ offers NFL games broadcast on CBS.
Fox One, which debuts on Aug. 21 , offers all games broadcast on Fox.
Two Christmas games — including the Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings — will be streamed exclusively on Netflix.

LAS VEGAS -- A Nevada court apparently cleared the way Monday for a 2021 lawsuit filed by former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden to proceed against the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell, alleging that a 'malicious and orchestrated campaign' was used to destroy Gruden's career by leaking old emails he had sent that included racist, misogynistic and homophobic comments. In 2022, the NFL appealed to Nevada's high court after a judge in Las Vegas rejected league bids to dismiss Gruden's claim outright or to order out-of-court talks through an arbitration process that could be overseen by Goodell. The Nevada Supreme Court, in a 5-2 ruling, said that 'the arbitration clause in the NFL Constitution is unconscionable and does not apply to Gruden as a former employee.' Gruden's lawsuit alleged that Goodell and the league pressured the Raiders to fire Gruden by leaking emails containing racist, sexist and homophobic comments that Gruden sent, when he was an on-air analyst at ESPN from 2011 to 2018. Gruden resigned from the Raiders in October 2021 and sued the league a month later. The NFL declined to comment on the ruling. Gruden's attorney did not return a phone message seeking comment. Gruden was Raiders head coach when the team moved in 2020 to Las Vegas from Oakland, California. He's seeking monetary damages, alleging that selective disclosure of the emails and their publication by the Wall Street Journal and New York Times ruined his career and endorsement contracts. Gruden coached the Raiders in Oakland from 1998 to 2001, then led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for seven years, winning a Super Bowl title in 2003. He spent several years as a TV analyst for ESPN before being hired by the Raiders again in 2018. He later consulted for the New Orleans Saints in 2023. He is now a part-owner and consultant for the Nashville Kats, a team in the Arena Football One league.

NFL Top 100: Texans QB C.J. Stroud is No. 39, will face Cardinals in 2025
Another Cardinals opponent is in the 'NFL Top 100' and Texans QB C.J. Stroud comes in at No. 39. The NFL began its seventh week of the "NFL Top 100" on Monday. This week, players 31-40 will be revealed, and players Nos. 39-40 kicked off the week. Player No. 39 is yet another player the Arizona Cardinals will face as an opponent in 2025. That player is Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud. He is No. 39 after debuting after his rookie season at No. 20 last year. Texans defensive end Will Anderson spoke about Stroud's leadership, noting that every player knows who is in charge when Stroud walks in a room. Stroud came into his second season "playing like a vet," Anderson added. He said that teams "know he can sling the ball." In two NFL seasons, he has led the Texans to two division titles and two playoff wins. Teammate Nico Collins, a receiver, says Stroud "is the best quarterback" in his eyes. He completed 63.2% of his passes last season for 3,727 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. In his 2023 appearance against the Cardinals, he passed for 336 yards and two touchdowns, but hw was picked off three times, his only career three-interception game. The Cardinals will face Stroud and the Texans on the road in Week 15.
