NFL Top 100: Texans QB C.J. Stroud is No. 39, will face Cardinals in 2025
The NFL began its seventh week of the "NFL Top 100" on Monday. This week, players 31-40 will be revealed, and players Nos. 39-40 kicked off the week. Player No. 39 is yet another player the Arizona Cardinals will face as an opponent in 2025.
That player is Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud. He is No. 39 after debuting after his rookie season at No. 20 last year.
Texans defensive end Will Anderson spoke about Stroud's leadership, noting that every player knows who is in charge when Stroud walks in a room.
Stroud came into his second season "playing like a vet," Anderson added. He said that teams "know he can sling the ball."
In two NFL seasons, he has led the Texans to two division titles and two playoff wins.
Teammate Nico Collins, a receiver, says Stroud "is the best quarterback" in his eyes.
He completed 63.2% of his passes last season for 3,727 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. In his 2023 appearance against the Cardinals, he passed for 336 yards and two touchdowns, but hw was picked off three times, his only career three-interception game.
The Cardinals will face Stroud and the Texans on the road in Week 15.

Patriots vet issues warning to team ahead of Vikings joint practice
This week is an NFL homecoming of sorts for New England Patriots center Garrett Bradbury, who returns to Minnesota to face off against his former Vikings teammates. The veteran center, a former first-round draft pick, spent six long years with the franchise, so he has an idea of how the show is run in Minnesota. If the Patriots are hoping for some vanilla walkthrough in 11-on-11s during the scheduled joint practices, they should think again, according to Bradbury. Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, a man the Patriots know all too well, will likely treat the practice sessions like a real competition. "I've seen some offenses come in there for joint practice with not a lot of game-plan and it's an absolute disaster [for them]. You have to game-plan," Bradbury warned, via ESPN's Mike Reiss. The Patriots spent Monday mimicking the Vikings' defense ahead of the joint practices. Flores spent 14 years with the Patriots, working his way up from a scouting assistant to linebackers coach and defensive playcaller in Super Bowl LIII. He wouldn't blink at an opportunity for his unit to cause disaster for his former team. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.

Chargers' Eric Rogers makes huge case for roster spot before leaving with injury
Chargers' Eric Rogers makes huge case for roster spot before leaving with injury originally appeared on The Sporting News The Los Angeles Chargers improved to 2-0 in the preseason following a 27-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. It was a huge day for the defense, which looked like it was in midseason form, but it was an undrafted free agent who had the biggest impact. Eric Rogers had two interceptions in the game, one of which he returned for a touchdown. Undrafted out of Rutgers, Rogers made a case for inclusion on the 53-man roster with this performance, but it didn't end well. With less than two minutes to play, the Chargers were kicking off following a touchdown. Rogers went down on the play and stayed down for a few minutes as trainers checked on him. Jim Harbaugh, clearly feeling the stress of the team's early-season injury woes, looked dejected. READ:Keenan Allen has chance to break major Chargers record Rogers was helped off the field, and it looked like it may have been an ankle injury. It was a tough break following a huge day for Rogers in which he showed great athleticism, wonderful anticipation and elite speed. Here, he almost baits Saints quarterback Jake Haener into this throw and makes a great play on the ball. Rogers is in a battle to make the roster at a deep cornerback position, but it will be hard to overlook this performance. However, an injury that causes him to miss a lot of time will delay that, at the least. We will wait to hear more information on the status of Rogers.
