Why Hailey Bieber's ‘Eau d'Nepo' Perfume Is Trending

On May 20, the Rhode founder appeared for an interview that involved disclosing the items of her Saint Laurent bag.
Vogue took to YouTube to share the conversation with Hailey Bieber, titled 'In the Bag.' Around the 43-second mark, she takes out a pink perfume bottle with the label Eau d'Nepo. Bieber introduces it to the audience by saying, 'This is my favorite perfume. I've basically been wearing this all my life. I'm obsessed with it. It smells really vanilla. It's really gorgeous.'

In reality, there is no such brand of fragrances as Eau d'Nepo. Instead, the name of the perfume seems to be a play on the popularized notion that Bieber has nepotism to thank for her immensely successful career.
The model's description of the cologne seems to suggest that she was taking a jibe at this perception. This is mainly due to Bieber being the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin. She notes, 'It really does all the work for you without you having to do anything. Very effortless.'
While Bieber's supposed response to people adding the nepotism tag on her by showing her cleverly-named perfume has resulted in 'Eau d'Nepo' topping the trends charts, it isn't the first time that the 28-year-old celebrity has issued such a statement. She famously donned a white T-shirt with the phrase 'nepo baby' written on it in 2023.
During her appearance on the June 29, 2023, episode of The Circuit With Emily Chang, Hailey Bieber even clarified her decision to sport the said top, stating that it wasn't to 'poke fun at' the fact that she comes from a family of extremely famous people. Instead, she wanted to 'literally' convey that 'this is what everyone is saying and I want you to know that this is my way of responding to it.'

Here's Whether Hailey Bieber's $1 Billion Rhode Acquisition Will Pay Off Justin Bieber's Multi-Million Dollar Settlement
Hailey Bieber's business is standing on its own regardless of speculation on the future of her $1 billion Rhode deal. Related: On July 10, Hailey's husband, Justin Bieber, reportedly settled a financial dispute with his former manager, Scooter Braun. The "Peaches" singer reportedly agreed to pay $26 million to Scooter's company, HYBE, to reconcile money they paid to AEG for his canceled 2022 Justice tour, according to insider sources to People and TMZ. In addition, Justin agreed to pay $5.5 million to cover half of the $11 million in unpaid commissions he reportedly owed Scooter, bringing the total to $31.5 million. Amidst this, speculation arose that Justin's settlement was postponed to line up with Hailey's $1 billion Rhode acquisition from Beauty in May to help with his debts. "The historic sale of Rhode is a huge accomplishment for Hailey and is completely separate from her husband and his business affairs."
