Amitabh Bachchan Says Fans At Jalsa On Sunday Were 'Subdued': 'Shall See If Gates Can Be…'
Amitabh Bachchan shares why Sunday Darshan fans felt subdued recently, reflects on decades-long tradition of meeting fans at Juhu every week.
Amitabh Bachchan's Sunday meet at his residence, Jalsa, has become a cherished tradition where fans and well-wishers gather to see the superstar in person. Every week, Amitabh opens his doors to the public, welcoming people from all walks of life to share greetings, blessings, and sometimes brief conversations. But after the recent Sunday meet on August 10, Amitabh took to his blog with a thoughtful update, noticing something different about the gathering.
The actor shared, 'So back to work after the Sunday meet with the fans .. they were yesterday a bit subdued I felt, except the devoted dedicated ones. Could be the delay in the time or that the evening draws a bit dark with it, and it seems to be getting too late .. but its the weather .. the dark clouds being in the shades ..shall see if the gates can be done slightly early so the fans do not have to wait long."
Amitabh also posted several photos from the event, including posters brought by fans. Reflecting on the experience, he wrote, 'Each day a memory and the memory lasts the entire day – have I connected with the Blog or not .. and then suddenly the first matter you attend to is the fact of writing .. Once the ritual of its writing is done, the entire day draws on."
This weekly ritual remains a special moment for the star. He had previously opened up about the changing nature of these meets, observing that 'the numbers are in lesser magnitude and the enthusiasm has lessened and the screams of joy now transferred to the mobile camera .. and that is more evident now an indication that time has moved on and nothing lasts forever."
Despite the changes, hundreds still gather outside his Juhu home every Sunday, eager to catch a glimpse or exchange greetings with the veteran actor. Amitabh's humility shines through his gesture of always removing his shoes before meeting fans, describing it as a form of 'devotion" to those who come.
On the work front, Amitabh recently made his Tamil film debut in Vettaiyan, alongside Rajinikanth and other stars. The action drama directed by TJ Gnanavel marked a new chapter in his illustrious career.

War 2 Box Office Day 1: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's Spy Thriller Opens Strong
The much-anticipated Bollywood spy action film War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, made a powerful debut at the box office on August 14. According to early estimates, the War 2 box office day 1 earnings stand at an impressive ₹52.5 crore across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu markets. While this falls just short of the ₹53 crore benchmark set by its 2019 predecessor War, the War 2 opening collection marks one of the strongest starts for an Indian film in 2025. The movie faces competition from Rajinikanth's Coolie, which currently leads the box office race, but strong word-of-mouth and star power are expected to keep momentum high. War 2 had a dazzling UK premiere, where Jr NTR War 2 movie fans created a viral buzz with cheers and celebrations. In India, a glamorous pre-release screening saw Hrithik Roshan War 2 co-star Kiara Advani join Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff, amplifying anticipation. While Salman Khan's Tiger and Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan are missing, Bobby Deol makes a powerful YRF Spy Universe debut in War 2, teasing future crossovers. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film promises high-octane action, exotic locations, and intense face-offs between two of India's biggest stars. With its solid debut, global buzz, and expanding Spy Universe connections, War 2 is already shaping up to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Whether it can surpass its predecessor's total earnings will depend on sustaining its box office performance in the weeks ahead.
