Will fully cooperate for release of The Devil: Actor Darshan

Agency: PTI Bengaluru, Aug 16 (PTI) Kannada actor Darshan on Saturday said he would 'fully cooperate" for the release of his film 'The Devil'. He also expressed confidence that his 'celebrities" — as he calls his fans — will also stand by his decision. The message was conveyed through his wife Vijayalakshmi's Instagram account. Directed by Prakash Veer, the first song of the film was supposed to have been released on August 15. But with the Supreme Court cancelling his bail, Darshan was taken into custody a day before, on August 14. Following which, the plans for the film were reportedly put on hold. However, Darshan said his first duty is to support the directors who believed in him and the producers who have invested crores of money in him. 'So, I hope that all the work of my film 'The Devil' will proceed without any hindrance. I hereby inform you that you (makers of the film) have my full cooperation. And I firmly believe that my celebrities (fans) will consent to this," Darshan is quoted as saying in his wife's Instagram post. Darshan had wrapped up the film in July. The reshooting of the film started in February after the actor was released on regular bail. 'Cinema is an entertainment medium and should be viewed only from the perspective of entertainment," the actor said further through his wife's post. Darshan was arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan was granted interim bail on medical grounds after he claimed back pain. He was then granted regular bail by the Karnataka High Court in mid-December. PTI JR ROH view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Faisal Khan made serious allegations against his family, breaks off relations with brother Aamir Khan because of...

In a significant development within the Khan family, actor Faisal Khan has publicly announced his decision to sever all ties with his brother, Aamir Khan, and other family members. This announcement marks a new chapter in a longstanding and complex relationship between the siblings. What did Faisal Khan say? During an interview with 'Bollywood Bubble', Faisal said that he has decided to end all relations with the family. He emphasized that he would no longer be part of the family of his late parents, Tahir Husain and Zeenat Tahir Husain, and renounced any claims to their estate. Furthermore, he stated that he would not accept any financial support from Aamir Khan or reside in any property owned by the family. What is the entire matter? This decision follows a series of allegations made by Faisal against his family. He claimed that he was confined in Aamir's Mumbai residence for over a year, during which he was forcibly medicated and labeled as mentally unwell. Faisal described this period as a 'chakravyuh' (labyrinth) where he felt isolated and monitored, with his phone taken away and bodyguards stationed outside his room. What response did Aamir Khan give on this? In response, Aamir Khan and his family released a joint statement expressing their distress over Faisal's allegations, labeling them as 'hurtful and misleading.' They asserted that all decisions regarding Faisal's well-being were made collectively, in consultation with medical professionals, and motivated by love and concern for his health. The family emphasized their unity and requested that the media handle the matter with sensitivity. The rift between the brothers is not new. In the past, Faisal had accused his family of declaring him mentally ill and attempting to take control of his assets. In a 2008 court case, Faisal was declared mentally fit and capable of managing his own affairs, leading to a legal victory over his family's guardianship claims. More about Faisal Khan and Aamir Khan Faisal Khan and Aamir Khan, though brothers, have had very different careers in Bollywood. Faisal started with promise in films like Madhosh and Mela but couldn't sustain success, later turning to direction with Faactory and even acting in Kannada films like Oppanda. In contrast, Aamir rose to superstardom with hits like Lagaan, Dangal, Rang De Basanti, 3 Idiots and Taare Zameen Par, becoming known for his perfectionism and socially driven films.

Renukaswamy was allegedly murdered for sending objectionable messages to Pavithra Gowda on Instagram. His body was discovered near a stormwater drain close to an apartment complex in Sumanahalli, Bengaluru, on June 9, 2024. Thoogudeepa was arrested while shooting for The Devil in Mysuru. He was released from prison on October 30 on interim bail after spending 131 days in jail. On December 13, the Karnataka High Court granted regular bail to Thoogudeepa and Pavithra Gowda. The state government had approached the Supreme Court challenging the bail. The state government had challenged the bail petition and the Supreme Court denied him relief. According to a source, the movie is presently in the post-production stage and was scheduled to be released in October.
