Lome [Togo], May 28 (ANI): After concluding their visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Group 4 delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, en route to Sierra Leone, stopped over in Lome, Togo. During the transit, they held discussions on Pakistan-based terrorism and Operation Sindoor at the airport lounge.
BJP's Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Manan Kumar Mishra told ANI that the delegation underscored India's need for Operation Sindoor and recounted the conversations they had about Pakistan during their visit.
'We are telling them why we had to conduct Operation Sindoor and about Pakistan's terrorism. But it is a good experience to know about the people of Africa, their culture, and language. They are good people and this is a really good experience. The conversations we had with their diplomats, heads of states, and ministers regarding Pakistan, they heard us with concentration. They had come prepared on the subject matter. They were curious to know why our relations with Pakistan are deteriorating, they knew that Pakistan is a terrorist country but when we made things clear, they heard us well. Their response was good, that they would raise this issue in the UNSC and the African Union. We felt that they would raise this issue in their National Assembly and bring a resolution.'
During their visit, BJP leader SS Ahluwalia added that the delegation received much support for India's stand on terrorism and said that the African countries assured us of their support in our fight against terrorism.
'The support we received here exceeded our expectations. I think these people were already with India. So, after meeting our delegation, they received a lot of information. They have tremendous curiosity. They received proper answers for the same. All their questions were answered. They had some ideas regarding Pakistan, but after our briefing those ideas became clearer and they felt that Pakistan is really a huge threat for democracies and democratically-elected governments. So, some measures have to be taken to deal with this. Both countries assured us that they would raise this issue on an international level and their level and help India strongly.'
Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 as a decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack by Pak-sponsored terrorists, in which 26 people were brutally killed. The Indian armed forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the elimination of over 100 terrorists affiliated with groups including Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
The Indian parliamentary delegation, led by Shinde, is touring key African nations to strengthen India's strategic and diplomatic relations and to build global consensus against terrorism. (ANI)

New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday unveiled a bold development agenda to transform Andhra Pradesh into a $2.4-trillion economy by 2047. Reflecting on his decades-long association with CII, Naidu noted, 'For over three decades, you've understood and engaged with my vision. In the mid-1990s, when CII was still finding its footing, I was warned that associating with industrialists or international forums like Davos might harm my political prospects. Yet, I persisted- attending Davos regularly since 1995 - because I believed in economic development through collaboration'. The Chief Minister said his government would set up a global leadership centre in Amaravati to prepare leaders for tomorrow, on the lines of Davos in Switzerland. "We want to set up a global leadership centre in Amaravati to prepare global leaders for tomorrow. We are all going to Davos to learn, network, meet people, exchange ideas. Now, this is the place I want to make it," he said. Naidu said companies like TCS, IBM and L&T would be setting up quantum computing centres in Amaravati, the new Greenfield capital. He said Andhra Pradesh is well-positioned for industries producing green energy. Naidu said his state has good solar and wind energy potential, along with pumped storage, green ammonia and nitrogen. It also has ports. "Some states have solar, some have wind, but all put together, Andhra Pradesh is the number one state for green energy and downstream industries," he said. Inviting industries to set up facilities in the state, Naidu said, "I will give you all the facilities. I am planning big." He said out of India's target to achieve 500 gigawatts of installed electricity capacity for non-fossil-based energy sources, 160 GW will come from Andhra Pradesh. Naidu highlighted India's evolution since the economic liberalization era under Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, noting that nearly 30 per cent of top global Indian achievers are of Telugu origin. He underlined the importance of technological advancements - ranging from AI to quantum computing—and stressed the potential of real-time data and innovation to position India as a global leader. 'We are fortunate to have Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm during this critical phase. Today, we are the fourth-largest economy. As India ascends to become the world's third-largest economy, the real competition begins - with the USA and China. The Indian industry must prepare for this next phase,' he urged.

Mamta Kulkarni Resigns As Mahamandaleshwar Amid Akhada Power Struggle And Backlash Over Past
New Delhi: Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni talked about the controversy around her appointment as Mahamandleshwar of Kinnar Akhada at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. In January, Acharya Mahamandleshwar of Kinnar Akhada, Laxmi Narayan, announced that Mamta Kulkarni has embarked on a spiritual role as the Mahamandleshwar. However, later Rishi Ajay Das, the founder of Kinnar Akhada, has expelled both Mamta Kulkarni and Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi from the Akhada. The decision comes in the wake of the controversial appointment of Mamta Kulkarni, a former Bollywood actress with a checkered past, as Mahamandaleshwar. Tripathi had allegedly appointed Kulkarni without the founder's consent, an act that has sparked considerable outrage. Speaking to ANI, she said, "...It was all in God's hands for me to become Mahamandaleshwar in that Kumbh, which was such a holy occasion in 140 years. God provided me with the fruits of 25 years of my 'tapasya'. So, that happened." According to a press release issued on January 30, 2025, Rishi Ajay Das noted, "As the founder of Kinnar Akhada, I am hereby relieving Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi from his position as Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada, effective immediately. His appointment was made with the goal of promoting religious activities and uplifting the transgender community, but he has deviated from these responsibilities." The controversy revolves around an agreement Tripathi entered into with Juna Akhada in 2019, which Ajay Das claims was allegedly done without his approval. He further alleged that the contract between the two Akhadas was legally invalid due to the lack of his consent and signature. Moreover, Ajay Das accused Tripathi of undermining the tenets of the Kinnar Akhada by allowing Mamta Kulkarni to join and take on the prestigious role of Mahamandaleshwar despite her past involvement in criminal activities. Ajay Das explained that Mamta Kulkarni's appointment was particularly concerning because she had a criminal history."By giving such a person the title of Mahamandaleshwar, what kind of guru are you offering to Sanatan Dharma? This is a question of ethics," he wrote. The founder emphasized that this appointment was not only unethical but also a betrayal of the Akhada's religious values. The expulsion of both individuals has ignited debates within the spiritual community, with the President of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, Mahant Ravindra Puri, speaking out in support of Tripathi and Kulkarni. Puri challenged the legitimacy of Ajay Das's decision, saying, "I want to ask, who is he (Rishi Ajay Das) to expel Laxmi Narayan Tripathi?"He also reiterated that both Tripathi and Kulkarni would continue their roles within the Akhada and participate in the upcoming Amrit Snan. The controversy over Mamta Kulkarni's appointment as Mahamandaleshwar began when Acharya Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi publicly announced the decision during the Maha Kumbh. Mamta Kulkarni, who was known for her roles in popular 1990s Bollywood films, had stepped away from the limelight in the early 2000s. However, she made a return to India and was granted the position of Mahamandaleshwar by Tripathi, an act which has now come under heavy scrutiny. Transgender Kathavachak Jagatguru Himangi Sakhi Maa had earlier raised concerns over Kulkarni's appointment, questioning her credibility and linking her past to criminal activities."Mamta Kulkarni has been made Mahamandaleshwar for publicity. Society knows her past very well. She was even jailed in the past in connection with drug cases. This needs investigation," Himangi Sakhi said in a conversation with ANI. Mamta Kulkarni later stepped down from her role as Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada after facing heavy backlash and internal disputes. Her resignation follows questions about her spiritual standing and her past in the film industry. The Kinnar Akhada had earlier expelled the 'Karan Arjun' actress and her mentor, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, citing tensions within the religious group. Kulkarni announced her resignation in a video shared on her Instagram. "Main Mahamandaleshwar Yamai Mamta Nandagiri, main iss post se istifa de rahi hoon. Aaj Kinnar Akhade ya dono akhade ke beech jo mujhe leke problems ho rahi hain. Main ek Sadhvi thi 25 saal se aur main Sadhvi hi rahungi," she said. "Bollywood ko maine 25 saal pehle chhoda. Main apne aap gayab rahi. Warna makeup se, Bollywood se itna door kaun rehta hai?" she added.

End of Article 370 brought prosperity in Kashmir, Pakistan aims to undo it: Salman Khurshid in Jakarta
Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid hailed the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, insisting that the region has seen development since the move. Khurshid's remarks came during his visit to Indonesia as part of India's all-party delegation's outreach initiative. While dismantling false propaganda by Pakistan about the ongoing tensions with India, Khurshid brought up the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government's landmark move in August 2019 to permanently scrap the article that gave special status to the former state of J&K. Khurshid was addressing the Indonesian think Tanks and Academia on Thursday. He is part of the delegation team, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD In his remarks, the Congress leader called Article 370 a 'major problem" that was finally put to an end in 2019. Khurshid noted that there is a government in the region today which was elected with the participation of over 60 per cent of voters in the region, ANI reported. 'Kashmir had a major problem for a long time. Much of that was reflected in the thinking of the government in an article called Article 370 of the Constitution, which somehow gave the impression that it was separate from the rest of the country. But Article 370 was abrogated, and it was finally put to an end," the Congress MP said. 'Subsequently, there was an election with 65 per cent participation in the election. There's an elected government in Kashmir today, and therefore, for people to want to undo everything that has happened, the prosperity that has come to Kashmir," he added. Don't hyphenate between India and Pakistan Another crucial message Khurshid shared in Indonesia is the demand not to hyphenate India and Pakistan. On Friday, Khurshid noted that India cannot be reduced to the 'size' and 'stature' of Pakistan. 'We are asked, why did we stop?… We are not Pakistan; we are much larger than they are. We have a greater role in the world… We got respect not only for our strengths but also for showing confidence in our strengths. We had to do certain things to teach Pakistan a lesson, and then we stopped because we are not greedy for Pakistan, their territory, or to destroy them,' he said during an interaction with the Indian community in Indonesia, ANI. 'We only want to preserve and protect ourselves… We want to lead the world. And in that leadership role, we cannot reduce ourselves to the size and stature of Pakistan… We don't want a hyphen between India and Pakistan… Talk to us separately… The beauty of our plural culture, the beauty of how we live together and celebrate life together, is something that we want to show… We are patriots. We believe in humanity. We believe in our country because our country is our mother,' he furthered. He noted that India has refrained from further attacks since then.
