Tesco shoppers have until end of today to boost Clubcard points
Tesco Clubcard holders have an opportunity to double their points. But they will need to act fast.
The supermarket giant is offering customers a £10 boost on their Clubcard when they swap at least £5 worth of points with one of the Days Out Reward Partners. Many favourite day out spots are included in the double points deal, such as Thorpe Park, Legoland, Pleasure Beach, and Alton Towers.
When you trade your points with an eligible Reward Partner, you'll receive 1,000 Clubcard points, equivalent to £10, by October 19. However, shoppers only have until the end of today (July 28) to take this offer before it expires.
How to exchange your Clubcard points
To exchange your points, simply log into your Clubcard account via the Tesco grocery and Clubcard app. The app will show you a list of eligible Reward Partners that can give you those bonus points.
Bear in mind, you can only claim the bonus once through an eligible exchange, even if you share a joint Clubcard account with family members. Also, the bonus points are solely available through Days Out Reward Partners, so entertainment partners like Disney+ are excluded.
It comes after Tesco revealed last week that Clubcard members will benefit from more tailored rewards on selected products in its stores. Under the new change, customers can receive personalised Clubcard points on fresh fruit and vegetables which will be turned into bonus points and vouchers that can be used in-store.
Additionally, Tesco has launched the Clubcard Challenges scheme, rewarding extra points for purchases of frozen fruits and vegetables, as well as pulses and beans. Ashwin Prasad, Tesco UK CEO, commented to say: "We understand that for many, there are barriers that make healthy eating feel hard.
"We want to help our customers make small changes that amount to big health benefits for themselves and their families. That's why we're setting out to make healthy choices easier every day, starting with new offers and support for families in store this summer.
"We're bringing customers new ways to earn Clubcard points and vouchers as a fun and engaging way to help them towards their five-a-day, on top of new and existing great value offers on healthy staples."
Further details on some of the Days Out Rewards Partners available through the Clubcard deal can be found online here.

Tesco birthday cake sandwich could follow the M&S HMRC clash
This follows M&S, which launched a limited-edition strawberries and cream sandwich, and even Subway joined the craze with its own twist. However, HMRC scrutinised M&S's sandwich, sparking a VAT debate with wider implications for independent cafés, bakeries, and delis hoping to cash in on viral food trends, and it's likely the same will happen with Tesco's latest addition to the meal deal - adding 60p to its price, say experts. Shoppers could be paying 20% more for Tesco's viral summer sandwich Similar to the M&S strawberry sando debacle, if HMRC decides Tesco's birthday cake sandwich is confectionery rather than a standard sandwich, Tesco would need to apply the 20% VAT rate. This could lead to higher prices or slimmer profit margins, particularly if the sandwich remains part of a fixed-price meal deal. For shoppers, this could mean a 60p price increase, from £3 to £3.60, making the sweet treat noticeably more expensive. However, since it's included in Tesco's meal deal, Clubcard holders can still get it for £3.60 with a drink and a side. Some might say that makes it even more worth trying while it lasts. Misclassifying trending menu items could land you with penalties, charges and legal disputes Laura Court-Jones, small business editor at Bionic, warns that the decision could set a precedent for other food businesses offering similar 'hybrid' menu items that blur the line between sweet and savoury: 'Trends like this are worth watching closely, the surge in demand offers opportunities, but also potential tax pitfalls for small businesses. "If the error is due to a lack of reasonable care, HMRC can charge penalties up to 30% of the tax lost. If the error is deliberate, the penalty can be between 20% and 70%, or more if the error is concealed on purpose." Recommended reading: What does this mean for customers? If VAT rules change or are enforced more strictly, prices could rise, especially for popular hybrid items that blur the lines between food categories. The birthday cake sandwich you grab today as a novelty snack might cost more in the future if it's hit with an unexpected tax and smaller cafés, delis, and bakeries jumping on the trend may need to rethink their pricing or menu offerings altogether. The limited-edition sandwich, released to mark the 30th anniversary of the Tesco Clubcard, will be on sale for four weeks at 1,000 stores. Tesco said the 'soiree sandwich' was the result of nine months of development by its product innovation team, describing it as taking inspiration from the birthday classic Victoria Sponge.

The UK's cheapest supermarket has changed for the first time in 20 months
For the last 20 months in a row, one supermarket has retained the crown as the cheapest in the UK. Aldi's prices beat out competition for almost two years straight, but as of last month, the budget retailer's reign came to an end. According to analysis by the consumer champions at Which, Lidl knocked Aldi off the top spot to become the UK's cheapest supermarket in July 2025. And they managed to secure the victory by being just 85p cheaper than their German discount rival. The research compared a shopping list of 76 grocery items at eight of the UK's biggest supermarkets, including Tesco, Asda, Waitrose and Sainsbury's. It took into account special offers and loyalty prices, but not multibuys. At Lidl, the total on average across the month came out to £128.40, with members of the retailer's loyalty scheme saving a further 40p. At Aldi, the same shop featuring own-brand and branded items like Hovis bread, Birds Eye Peas, milk and butter, came out at £129.25. Asda came in third place, with the average price being £139.53, proving cheaper than a shop at Tesco using Clubcard prices (£141.92). To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Tesco Clubcard members would have paid £13.92 more on average than at Lidl, while those who aren't part of the loyalty scheme would be paying £17.10 more (£145.10). Sainsbury's shoppers with a Nectar card are paying £16.21 more on average a month than at Lidl, and £21.55 more without using a Nectar card (£149.55). Lidl (including loyalty discount) – £128 Lidl – £128.40 Aldi – £129.25 Asda – £139.53 Tesco (including loyalty discount) – £141.92 Sainsbury's (including loyalty) – £144.21 Tesco – £145.10 Morrisons (inc loyalty discount) – £146.91 Morrisons – £147.84 Sainsbury's – £149.55 Ocado – £159.20 Waitrose – £170.91 It's worth noting though, that for those doing a bigger shop of 192 items, Aldi and Lidl are taken out of the running for the cheapest supermarket as they offer a smaller range of products than other retailers. Instead, it's Asda that's the cheapest overall, with a longer list of groceries costing £474.12 on average. More Trending Waitrose was found to be the most expensive supermarket for both the bigger and smaller shop throughout the month, with 72 items costing £170.91 on average and £538.33 for 192 items on average. Reena Sewraz, Which retail editor, said: 'Lidl has bagged the top spot as the UK's cheapest supermarket for the first time in 20 months, according to our latest price analysis, showing that it can beat Aldi even without loyalty prices. 'The bigger trolley of groceries shows that Asda continues to be the cheapest non-discounter supermarket – beating membership prices at Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons.
