Emma Corrin Transforms into Elizabeth Bennet for Netflix's 'Pride and Prejudice' Series
Jane Austen fans are thriving. Not only is a new adaptation of Sense and Sensibility in the works, but Pride and Prejudice is also getting the remake treatment. Written by bestselling author Dolly Alderton (Good Material) and directed by Euros Lyn (Heartstopper), the classic novel is officially coming to Netflix. Here's everything we know about the six-part limited series.
Pride and Prejudice will be based on the 1813 novel by Jane Austen. The story, previously adapted for the screen in the 2005 film starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen, follows the complex romance between a young woman named Elizabeth Bennet and a wealthy man, Mr. Darcy.
The new Netflix series assures a 'faithful' adaptation of Austen's book.
Emma Corrin (Nosferatu, The Crown) will play Elizabeth Bennet. Corrin will also serve as an executive producer for the series. Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Dunkirk) will portray Mr. Darcy, and Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown) will star as Elizabeth's mother, Mrs. Bennet.
'Playing Elizabeth Bennet is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,' Corrin told Netflix's Tudum. 'To be able to bring this iconic character to life, alongside Olivia and Jack, with Dolly's phenomenal scripts, is truly the greatest honor. I can't wait for a new generation to fall in love with this story all over again.'
Other cast members include Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat) as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor (Industry) as Jane Bennet, Rhea Norwood (Heartstopper) as Lydia Bennet, Louis Partridge (Disclaimer) as Mr. Wickham, Jamie Demetriou (Fleabag) as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) as Mr. Bingley, Siena Kelly (Black Mirror) as Caroline Bingley, Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve) as Lady Catherine de Bourgh, and newcomers Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery as Mary and Kitty Bennet, respectively.
Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero, Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, Justin Edwards, James Northcote, Eloise Webb, and Isabella Sermon round out the cast.
Production is currently underway in the U.K., and a release date for the six-part limited series hasn't been revealed yet.

'Wednesday' Season 2: Jenna Ortega's castmates say she never breaks character filming Netflix hit
"She's on it, she's honest and ... she's so laser focused," Luis Guzmán said Wednesday has made its triumphant return with the release of Season 2, Part 1 on Netflix this week. It's a darker and twistier story that thrives in its grim mayhem, as the title character, played by Jenna Ortega, returns to Nevermore Academy. With the excitement of new cast members, including Steve Buscemi, Joanna Lumley, Billie Piper, Christopher Lloyd, Haley Joel Osment and Heather Matarazzo, the world of Wednesday is even richer than its first season. And as co-creators and showrunners, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar stressed to reporters ahead of the season premiere that they wanted to ensure they didn't rest on their laurels for the show's sophomore season. A core element of achieving that for Season 2 was getting a lot more time with the Addams family as a whole. "They dangled the carrot for us in Season 1, and I remember leaving the set going, 'Are you sure there's anything else possibly we could do?'" said Catherine Zeta-Jones, who plays matriarch Morticia. "The Addams Family [is] such a modern family when you think of it. We're a family that embraces idiosyncrasies and outcasts, ... we don't try to box them away. But it was wonderful in Season 2 to be able to explore that. For us to be within Wednesday's world, even though she didn't want us to be there, but we planted ourselves there within the school grounds." Season 2 really explores the relationship between Wednesday and Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), and their relationships with Wednesday's grandmother, Morticia's mother, Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley), while Wednesday also has a lot of questions about her aunt, Morticia's sister Ophelia. "She is ghastly. The only person she really likes in the whole show is Wednesday," Lumley said about Hester. "She's fond of Wednesday because she can see in her the kind of spirit and streak of bad in her. ... She's grand, she's vain, she's greedy, and she sees in Wednesday a shining light." 'She does not break that character for nothing' But the cast was also quick to praise Ortega, crediting her for much of the success of the series. "To see the beginnings of Jenna Ortega and her continued professionalism, her sheer joy of her craft," Zeta-Jones said. "And watching this butterfly go into the stratosphere, it couldn't happen to a ... better person, and I'm just thrilled that I'm in her gang." "When I'm standing next to Jenna and Catherine, and I'm watching Jenna, ... I'm in total awe, because she does not break that character for nothing," Luis Guzmán, who plays Gomez, added. "I mean, she's on it, she's honest and ... she's so laser focused, and she's not settling for good, ... this has to be great." What makes the show particularly great is Ortega's execution of the iconic character, paired with director and executive producer Tim Burton's signature stylistic stamp. Then there's the supporting characters and intricate production design, too, that make the series a feast for the eyes as well. "I remember when I read Season 1, I felt strangely like it was written for me, even though I'm not a teenage girl, but I feel like one sometimes," Burton said. "And it's just something that really spoke to me." "I loved her take on everything from family to school to psychiatry to everything, and so that's why I wanted to do it is because of the strength of that particular character."

Netflix Wednesday season 2: Who is Wednesday's stalker?
Contains spoilers for Wednesday season two As Wednesday has been away from our screens for nearly three, we've had a lot of time to consider who Wednesday's stalker could be. Is it Xavier? One of her parents? Or maybe even bestie Enid? Well it's a no to all three, as season two just dropped on Netflix on 6 August and gave us the answer we've been waiting a long time for. ICYMI at the end of season one, after Wednesday had saved the school and got Tyler locked away, she began to get sent threatening messages on the phone Xavier gave to her as a present. And when she returned to school for another term, it was revealed she had continued to receive threats and stalking messages over the summer. Things then really ramped up as school began, with her stalker stealing her manuscript, and kidnapping Enid. Thankfully Wednesday managed to save Enid (and her new werewolf love interest), when the stalker then revealed themselves. So who is it? Here's what you need to know. New student Agnes is revealed to be Wednesday's stalker in episode two 'The Devil You Woe'. After kidnapping Enid and Bruno, Agnes, who can turn invisible, sets up a series of clues for Wednesday to follow which leads her to clock tower and a set of knives slowing making their way towards a terrified Enid and Bruno. She solves the final clue by figuring out which book was missing from the pile, which was of course The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells. Within a nano-second Enid and Bruno are saved, and that's when Agnes reveals herself. She tells Wednesday she had done all the stalking acts in order to impress Wednesday and become her friend. However, some fans are theorising Agnes may not be the true stalker and is only working for a larger character at play. This could work given the stalking threats began before the term started and Agnes wasn't yet at the school. Agnes is played by Evie Templeton, a 16-year-old British actress who made her on-screen debut in an episode of Life After Life in 2022. Since then she's starred in a horror movie called Lord of Misrule and voiced the character of Laura in the video game Silent Hill 2. Evie's role in Wednesday was announced last year and executive producer and director Tim Burton has since praised her performance in the series, telling Tudum: "What Evie brought to it was very, very strong and she comes across like a stalker, but she's also got this deep emotional quality to her, and a vulnerability to her, and a mystery to her, and she's embodying all those different things in one character. I love working with people that surprise you, and she definitely did that. She's got a very, very, very strong presence.' He also revealed Evie will be back for part two of season two and is very much a fixture of Nevermore Academy now. We can't wait to see more of her! The celebration was memorable, but what followed excited Scheffler even more. "I brought it up to Royal Oaks a couple times, my home course," he added during the same conference. "One afternoon, I think Meredith was getting a haircut or something, and I was resting and so I had Bennett, and I took him to Royal Oaks. He whacked some golf balls around, and we hung out for a bit." The 29-year-old dad even bent the rules to sneak Bennett into the club's 19th hole grill. "I took him to the 19th hole with me, and I got some pretty funny pictures with Bennett sitting in the 19th hole at the men's only grill," he shared with the media during the Wednesday conference at TPC Southwind. "I think you've got to be 19 (years old) to get in there, but I figured if we bring in a couple major championship trophies with us, they'll let the rules slide on that one." This is not the first time Scheffler has shed light on his 1-year-old toddler's growing relationship with golf. During the pre-tournament conference at The Open Championship, the four-time major winner stated, "He's (Bennett) 14 months, and I'm like, this poor kid's got my personality. It's tough." While Bennett's swing is still in his infancy, Scheffler's own game is surging. The Dallas native enters the playoffs on Thursday with a stacked trophy room. His wins this season include the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, Memorial Tournament, PGA Championship and The Open, putting him just one U.S. Open title away from completing the career grand slam.
